Okay, 2 years later and I am posting a new blog. Tailgunner Joe has lots of new stuff. New record out hopefully by the end of the year, make sure you keep an eye out for that and indulge yourself in a copy. Come Nov 18th, my very own birthday, we will be playing at Push Ultra Lounge for 97x.

Ladies and gentlemen, we're very pleased to announce that we have completed tracking on the new Tailgunner Joe EP. The record is produced by Louis DeFabrizio of Gasoline Heart. We had a blast in the studio! The record was tracked in 4 days at Starlight Studios in Orlando, and features 6 brand new tracks along with a new recording of "The Street." Howdy from your humble rockers! We've always said Cannon's one of the best drummers in the south. Actually, we think he's one of the best drummers to be found anywhere but don't want to feed the ego, ya know?

We told y'all earlier we're not playing a lot of shows this summer due to prep for the new CD. But, that doesn't mean we aren't BUSY doing extremely cool things when time permits. Cannon's on the road with GenXX as her stand-in drummer, traveling to New York and other exotic places when she needs him. Check her out!!

Kyle recently played for the High School Musical traveling Broadway show when they came through Tampa. Didn't even have to audition! That's how good he is... and they know it... and you know it.
 
Travis is out of town meeting with record label execs to negotiate a label/distribution deal for Tailgunner Joe. The rest of the time, we're writing, refining, putting the new songs together. And, friends? The new CD is gonna blow your hair back!! In the meantime, we're exposing ourselves to a lot of great influences, and influencing in return, we hope.

Hello to all our very awesome friends and thanks for stopping in! We've been running full tilt for the last year--playing sometimes 2 or 3 shows almost every weekend as well as during the week (those back-to-back Hot Topic shows were killers). AND we're proud to announce that we've pretty much sold out of all our CDs of The Red Scare (though, not to worry, of course... you can still download the songs from iTunes and CD Baby   ).  It's been a great year, especially with the Spin Magazine selection of your humble rockers as a "Band to Watch" as the icing on the cake.

But no resting on our laurels here. Gotta keep movin'... and that's what we're doing. New songs are on the way! We're taking a break from playing for a while, honing the new stuff, and will be recording later this summer (with, I think, some very cool news about who will be producing the new CD--but more on that later). We might take a show here and there just to keep our edge and because we just really love to see you guys' smiling faces, but mostly we'll be creating and recording for the next few months).

While there won't be a whole lot of news from us for the time being, we really love hearing from y'all and want you to let us know what you're up to, what's going on in your life, and when there's something to share on our end, you'll be the first to hear about it! Thanks for being our friends!

WFNX 92.1 in Boston played "The Street" last night on the Spin/Sonicbids Emerging Artist Showcase! We're quite excited about being picked!

i'm talkin about the walls of our practice space, and they'd be screaming at the top of their drywalled lungs about the new sounds they're hearing!  we're writing and writing and writing, compiling ideas, and getting ready to record a new EP for y'all.  A couple of the songs you're gonna already know if you've seen us live, and a few, well, you won't.  We're working out the logistical details now, hoping to get this thing crankin around april.

hello guys and gals, Zakk (aka A.Boss) from the TGJ camp here. just wanted to let y'all know what's goin on in our world these days.

we're gonna be playin a lot of shows around tampa/st. pete through the first part of the year, and maybe spread our wings a little....

...but our big focus now is getting things ready for a new record! we've been super-excited about the new songs we've been writing over the last several months, and if you haven't heard em at a show, we invite you out either this friday at the brass mug for cookie's (one of our bestest buds in hatchetface) birthday show, or the friday after that at the crowbar, gonna be with the urbane cowboys and our dudes-in-arms in glasgow! we're fortunate enough to share a practice space with them, and i promise you, gonna be a SWEET show.

the point is, come out, dance to the new songs, tell us what you think, and we'll have a ball!

ALSO! new merch is coming! we ran out of the bandanna-skull shirts a little while ago, and they'll be back, along with some more things to dress your sexy self in!

Hello, Friends and (newly acquired) enemies of Tailgunner Joe!

We have some thrilling news for all of you! There is officially someone in the Tampa Bay area who believes that Tailgunner Joe is significant/influential/important enough to hate on us. We are extremely flattered, and absolutely tickled pink by this, so we thought we'd share it with you for, as we like to say, sticks and giggles. We have, of course, removed the name(s) of the individuals involved so as not to appear that we are, in any way, bitter:

These Are Bands That Actually stand for something.

You Guys are a bunch of Clowns who want some attention. You have to gain Tampa's real respect not come out acting like you're all that. You're a Boring Party band but guess what.. Tampa's not just a drunk b**** that's gonna let you take advantage of her. You have to earn your respect. How disappointing."

And, upon an explanation that we are, of course, not proclaiming ourselves the best band in Tampa, but rather advertising our Best of the Bay award from our friends at Creative Loafing, a response from said anonymous individuals:

"I'm glad somebody gave you an award.. they should have givin it to you for best impression of what the Jonas brothers will be when they grow up. You found yourself some "trendy" clothes, put a few power cords together add a cow bell clap along bridge and your practically 93.3 [...] I'm just sick of all this MTV b*******. You probably have a pair of forces in your closet and a giant a** chain to match."

Closing thoughts: we appreciate the validation immensely.

so this is like, the week of awesome for us.
