Hey happy people.

It's been a long time since we've been in touch, so I thought it might be about time for a little update.

First, and most importantly, we do still exist! We've been laying low, working on side projects, vacationing around the world, and writing new music so we haven't had much time for playing shows. The good news is we will be playing a few select dates throughout the summer months, just to keep your libido strong.

Last week, we all got together and talked about "band stuff". We all agreed that we'd like to breathe some new life into the band, and that it may be time for some changes. Don't let that scare you - we've been more productive as individual songwriters and musicians than ever before. Christo has just released his long awaited solo disc Kuiper Belt which every single one of you should own. Mick and Eric have been writing new tunes, some of which may even manifest in the form of solo projects (hint, hint). And while all that has been going on, Matt has been hard at work bailing hay and removing giant weeds from Perryville Gardens.

This weekend, we're part of a two-day festival showcasing 20 of the best bands in the area! Please come out and rock with us Sunday. Be there around 9 to catch our set, or get there at 5 for free pizza! We have discounted tickets available for $5! Save money, gas is expensive! Buy your tickets from us!

We're more excited than ever and hope you all stick around to see what's in store.

Love,
Hubis

PS - We're going to have some hot deals available on our merch: CDs, shirts, stickers, used underwear, and empty Roy Rogers 'Gold Rush' wrappers. These are all limited edition so get yours Sunday!

Current mood:Nude Black Glass is fucking awesome

Thank you so much to everyone who voted us into the 3rd round of the Emergenza Music Festival!

We went up against some heavy competition tonight and everyone had big crowds there showing support. Hats off to all the other bands. It was a pleasure sharing the stage.

It was great to see so many of you out in the crowd supporting us, especially on a night when we know you spent most of your beer money on a ticket to get in. You're all true friends and we can't thank you enough for the support.

Rumor has it....and you know we like rumors....the next round will be held in Hartford, CT at Up or On the Rocks. For those who don't know the club, it's sick. So keep your entire summer open. You won't want to miss this.

Thanks again, and stay tuned for more goodies. I must now go to bed. I need my beauty rest for our photo shoot tomorrow.

Much love,
Hubis

Thanks to everyone who came out to Max Cap last night. It was a crappy night to be out in the dreary New England weather we seem to be enjoying, and we were lucky to hide from the damp, misty night inside the warm glow of Maximum Capacity.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to Space Captain and Nude Black Glass. That was one of the best bills we've ever played. I finally got to see Space Captain play for more than 3 minutes and their Floyd cover was worth it as well was the semi destructive ending and metal mockery. And it was my first time really seeing Nude Black Glass and I can't believe those dudes are so good and so young. They will surely conquer us all.

We have been working hard on our new CD, and if we haven't been out to many shows, it's because we've been locked away in the studio every weekend. We've been rehearsing and writing the new material as well as laying down the tracks in between our steak dinners. I can honestly say the quality of this CD already surpasses our previous endeavor and we are really pumped for this. Mick and I have been experimenting with our guitar tones, Matt is featured on this CD more than ever with his amazing bass lines, and Christo is adding a slew of percussion and sequencing that really gives a new dimension to our music. We may need an orchestra for live shows soon.

We had planned to have the CD for next month but decided to rework an older song and include 2 new ones with hopes of presenting you all with a 7-song EP. Things are going according to plan and as I type this, Christo is laying down some mean and heavy drum tracks.

Also, it appears that we have found the resonant frequency of the universe and have somehow captured it in our kick drum sound.

Lastly- show updates. We are playing Friday night for the Emergenza Music festival. We passed through round 1 a few months back and this Friday is round 2. We need people to actually be present at the show in order for us to proceed to round 3 as the voting is done by a show of hands. If you can make it out to The Fat Cat Friday night, stop in and vote. We need you. We'll be on between 10:30 and 11:30.

Unlike the US elections, your vote really matters for this.

Our next show will be the Rock Festival at Maximum Capacity and then we will be laying low with shows for June spending the month in the studio to finish production on our CD. Hope to see you out this month!

Thank you all!

It's official. We've been dubbed the first ever Lazer 99.3FM House Band.

You may be wondering what all this means. It's ok. None of us knew. We're making history together. Walk with me. Talk with me. Let's get into this.

This entire fiasco began with almost 50 bands from Massachusetts and Connecticut. Four nights of shows were held, recorded professionally, and then reviewed by the people at Lazer. From there, five bands were picked to battle it out in the final round last Saturday. We went up against some steep competition, but thanks to the great people at the Valley Advocate and Lazer 99.3FM, we won the title. The coolest part, you ask? Getting to take our picture with a giant check for $2,000.

So, here's the scoop:

As the Lazer 99.3FM House Band, you'll be hearing a lot more of us on the airwaves. We're meeting with Mike Haze this week for an in-studio interview and they've been airing a 'Congratulations' ad for us all week! Feel free to call & email the station and continue to request us on the air.

In addition to an increased presence on the air, we'll also be featured on the official Lazer website and on the Lazer MySpace page. Be sure to check those links often as new information, tour dates, and other cool stuff will be getting posted as time rolls on.

In short, this is shaping up to be a great year for us. We're wrapping up recording for our next EP due out this summer, and planning a college tour this fall. You'll be seeing a lot more of us as the weather warms up since we can't really afford winter clothes.

Be lucky,

Hubis

Recording for our next EP is underway and I can't express with words how excited we all are. 2006 was a great & difficult year for us. We played some amazing shows, lost a drummer, got a new drummer, went on tour, and got stranded in the most awesome worst place ever for 5 days.

First, a big 'thank you' to everyone who has stuck with us through the MySpace account change & the continued support at shows. We've been laying low for the past few months in an effort to focus our energy on writing and recording the next EP, but we'll be returning in full force this Spring. Bear with us.

Moving on..........

I think I speak for all four of us when I say that this EP is going to really showcase us as individual musicians, and also as a cohesive band. We've all stepped up our game, bought all kinds of crazy gear, and got super duper hair cuts. It's a recipe for success.

The new tunes are also going to be much more stylistically diverse. For the first time in The Room history, your favorite bassist Matt Perry has penned the music to a couple songs, and the rest of us have definitely had our hands in all the other tunes. Though we're all contributing more to the songwriting on this EP, the songs are of a style that we hope will be a pleasant departure forward from what you've heard of The Room in the past. We kept a few big rockin' guitar songs, but we've also tripped things out a bit on songs such as 'Insincere' for which Christo has some wacky stuff up his sleeve.

In short, stay tuned for updates. Thanks to the masterful playing from Christo and the undeniable engineering talent of Mr. Eric Arena, recording for this EP is going much more swiftly than it did for the GHOTE EP. We'll be posting blogs every so often with a report of our studio progress. We'll also be revealing the EP release date, title, and a sneak peak at the album artwork as time goes on.

It's 5:50am and I doubt I'm writing anything of value any more. It's cold. I guess winter has finally decided to happen. Thanks for reading and take care.

With love for all the ladies,
Mick

Well, here it is, the new Myspace account.

Myspace decided to delete us this fall. Deleting us meant our account was still there, we could sign in and read messages, but we couldn't send messages or post comments. Strangely enough, we could post bulletins. We were very happy we were so rightfully punished like children. We contacted Myspace tech support more than 20 or 30 times, but they never responded to us. We got automated replies and no help no matter how much we begged. Hubis even offered up a plate of wings, but alas, we were left with no help.

So now we have to start over, from square one. It really sucks because we had worked up to over 4,000 friends, mostly local ones, and that meant a lot to us. But we're starting fresh and we hope we can get everyone to follow us to this new account. So that's how we're starting off the new year, from scratch, and we'll be online all day and night getting our friends back and making new ones.

The real good news is, we are back in action musically too. We have a new full time drummer, Chris Fortin, who has decided to take it upon himself to suffer the wrath of The Room. He really held his own on our summer tours, keeping the music alive and even coming close to finishing his meals. You'll be seeing a lot of Chris this year, and when he's not in New Hampshire, he'll be sure to be drinking and rocking out with us.

The best news of all, I think at least, is that we're in the studio all month working on our new CD. We've been working on the material for quite some time now, and while we had decided to start this in the fall, we wrote newer and stronger material and even re-worked some semi-older stuff for our upcoming shows. The CD is going to be awesome, we think at least, and we know you'll enjoy it. It's a big step up from our last one, and we plan on making a 6-song EP which will be available once again for $5. We had such a great success with our debut CD that we're really excited to get this one out and start playing shows to promote it and the new songs.

Lastly, we have a few upcoming shows so far for 2007. We're starting the year off with 2 really important shows. January is the Snow Ball Rock Festival which will feature basically the best line up you could ever have in Western Ma (and we think possibly the world). This show will be at Maximum Capacity in Chicopee, MA and I'm sure you'll be seeing plenty of promo for it. And in February, we will be taking the stage in the Emergenza Festival. This is a battle of the bands style event with competing rounds and eliminations that could be based on how many high school kids show up. We honestly don't know most of the bands that are competing, so we're actually going to need everyone's support for this show. More details will follow, but be prepared to come out and rock hard with us.

So welcome back. Grab yourself a beer, keep checking your Myspace bulletins and hold on tight. We have a lot planned for '07, and as soon as we get back from our year end parties, we'll get to work on everything for you.
