2008 is off to an amazing start, and there are so many exciting new things happening...

First off, I'm proud to announce the launch of the brand new Tarsha website at www.tarsharock.com, compliments of your favorite heavy metal radio host, Chris Akin at The Classic Metal Show! The new site is sleekly designed and loaded with a bunch of great new features. The site is up and running, so come on by and check it out!

Secondly, Prophecies will be re-released later this year with improved sound quality and expanded artwork. Songs from the newly mixed and mastered Prophecies are now posted in the Tarsha MySpace player.

Divine Universe, the 2nd full length album by Tarsha is now officially available for download! All 10 songs from Divine Universe can be downloaded exclusively through the SnoCap Store on Tarsha MySpace ahead of it's official release date scheduled for later this year. The new album artwork, created by friend and tattooist Nina DePezo, has also been unveiled in the Tarsha MySpace player along with three new tracks from Divine Universe. Make sure to come by, scope the new artwork, and check out the tunes!

Tarsha will also be performing live in 2008! Tarsha is in the planning stages of a spring/summer tour of the midwest and northeastern United States as well as a recurring monthly gig at a very popular Hollywood nightclub. The line-up for the new band is solidified and will be announced very soon!

So that's the update. Bringin in 2008 with a bang!

TARSHA - "Divine Universe"

Tarsha exploded onto the scene last year with the top indie release of 2006 "Prophecies". A very hard act to follow and to try just a year later. Many bands take a few years before they try to top a masterpiece. Sheldon Tarsha is one of the top vocalist in rock music today. He has great range and undisputable power. He served time in Adler's Appetite (ex Guns N Roses drummer Steven Adler's band) before busting out on his own. It's hard to compare "Divine Universe" to "Prophecies" and certainly not fair. Both are outstanding releases that stand on their own.

Tarsha definitely got a good start on a greatest hits cd on "Prophecies" with "Dirty", "Divine Universe" has two outstanding tracks that line up next to "Dirty." "Second Life" is a thunderous anthem. It has a Rob Zombie like melody but Tarsha's vocals are far superior. "Second Life" is a song about the 3d social network Second Life but could also be about being born again or going to Heaven.

"Sonic Sedition" is another song that's sure to be a Tarsha classic. This song rocks with Tarsha's reckless abandon. "Money wins the war/buying out the competition/ selling out like whores". Great rock lyrics. What's not to love? Great vocals, a sense of urgency, and quick moving melodies.

Tarsha is more than a one dimension rocker though. He shows range with "Slow Down." "Slow Down" reminds one of classic Scorpions as it starts slow and builds to a powerful chorus. Sheldon Tarsha gives an emotional vocal effort on a song that will have special appeal to female fans. "Hit The Bottom" is another song that displays versatility. An emotional song that builds power as it continues. "Endless Soul" is a rock ballad with power.

"Mess It Up" and "Here We Go" are powerful arena rock anthems that will guide you to the dance floor. "Blind World Suicide" is thinking man's metal. "Another Day" had shades of Stone Temple Pilots at the beginning.

When a cd is as strong as "Prophecies" is/ was, it's invetiable that the next release is going to be scrutinized. One thing for sure is that "Divine Universe" is like "Prophecies" in the regard that there is not a bad song on the CD. It is a CD that will proudly wear the Tarsha name. Is it as strong as "Prophecies"? Well, that's going vary in many listener's opinions. One thing for sure is that it's another strong step toward the rock legacy Tarsha is building. It's déjà vu has Tarsha staking an early claim for CD of the year. Just as "Prophecies" was considered by many as the top indie release of 2007, "Divine Universe" is the early favorite as top indie release of 2008.
