RIPT Apparel Announces Sponsorship of The Coming Weak

RIPT Apparel is announcing their first official musical act sponsorship. The Coming Weak is a 5-member rock band hailing from Providence, Rhode Island that has been establishing themselves throughout New England over the past three years. They have played to crowds of 1000’s opening for Everclear, Anberlin, and playing a spot on the Ernie Ball stage at the Vans Warped Tour.

Their most recent release, “Are We All Letting Go,” is a 7-song EP and proves why The Coming Weak is at the forefront of their genre. The CD also sports artwork by RIPT co-founder, Paul Friemel. “Amongst all the bands I’ve worked with during my career, The Coming Weak is the single most honest and hard-working unsigned band I’ve come across. I don’t expect to be able to call them unsigned for much longer.” The Coming Weak’s bassist, Jeff Langmaid, had this to say “Given Paul’s previous work with bands ranging from Between The Buried And Me to The Smashing Pumpkins, we were ecstatic regarding his participation on our new album artwork. When the the opportunity to be the first band to pair with his apparel line came through, it was something everyone in the band felt was a great
partnership.”

RIPT’s sponsorship of The Coming Weak launches a long-term goal for the company to branch out into cultural spheres other than exclusively participating in the online t-shirt community. RIPT Co-founder Matt Ingleby had this to say regarding the sponsorship: “We felt this is a good way to increase visibility of our brand as well as benefit any of our partners. Band sponsorships seemed like a win-win for both parties.”

Expect to see an exclusive shirt for The Coming Weak appearing as one of RIPT Apparel’s 24-hour tees within the next 30 days at the same exceptional garment quality and $10 price that repeat customers have come to count on.

'Are We All Letting Go' (news about our upcoming record)

Thank you to everyone who has already listened, commented, and messaged us regarding track which we posted last night from our upcoming record.

The record, Are We All Letting Go, will be available July 25th. It has seven new songs, tracklist below, and more than a few surprises. We have worked long and hard on this record and cant wait to get it our for everyone to hear.

July 25th will also be our record release show in Providence at Club Hell. Soon we will have pre-order packages available for the record which will include, posters, shirts, and all that fun stuff.

Hi, Today we are into our 2nd week recording at Strangeways with Mike Poorman. The last few months we have spent most of our time working on new jams, and finally they are coming to fruition. There are going to be lots of twists, turns, and a few surprise people involved with the record and we are psyched to be wrapping it up soon and getting it up for everyone to hear.

On July 1st we will be posting a new song, having a myspace overhaul, and doing a bunch of other fun stuff with the new album.

Enjoy the next few weeks and be prepared to be hearing alot more news soon :)

Meet Nick - TCW's new drummer!

Hello 'spacers my name is Nick Benziger and I'm the newest addition to The Coming Weak. I'm from Mansfield, MA and have been drumming for about 8 years. I'm 22 and endorsed by two incredible companies - Dark Horse Percussion & Masters of Maple. I'm ecstatic to be working with such awesome guys and have really high hopes for where The Coming Weak is going. I guess that's it haha I just really wanted to say hello and introduce myself to everyone.

1st Quarter of 2009 Report from The Coming Weak

Long time no blog ! A big thank you to everyone who has come out to shows, posted comments, send messages in the past few months.
Right now we are knee deep in demo-ing material for our upcoming EP to be released in July. We have a few scattered shows throughout the next month and then we will officially be heading back to Strangeways with Mike Poorman to get a new batch of songs down. Once the record is completed we will be hitting the road extensively throughout the summer and fall. We would like to come out to a variety of new places as well as our old favorites. Please leave a comment on this blog on where you would like to see us play and also any bands whom you would like to see us play with.
We are really excited about the new record and will be pushing very hard throughout 2009 to make this a very exciting and productive year for the band and everyone whom listens, comments, posts, and tells their friends about The Coming Weak.
