Our song "Salvazar" was picked up by AMC for Season 2 of their original series "Breaking Bad." A trailer featuring the song can be seen here:

Here is a refreshingly honest review from scribe John Wenzel about our show this past week with the Dead Trees and Little Joy.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/reverb/2008/12/05/little-joy-the-larimer-lounge/comment-5351

Here is what he had to say about us:

"In hindsight, I suppose my expectations were too high — and helped along by the great opening acts. Denver quartet the Knew kicked the night off with a roiling set of twangy, vaguely bluesy rock that sounded at home next to the bands that would follow.

Singer/guitarist Jacob Hansen had the sparse, early-evening audience hollering and clapping to "Piece of Mind," a positively Western tune with sugary slides and peppery snare rolls. The band still seems to be finding its personality, alternately sounding like My Morning Jacket (i.e. corn-fed indie rock) and the dance-punk/pop of "Hot Fuss"-era Killers ("Coldblack"). Either way, it's going to be fun to watch them evolve. And they have sweet hair."

I'm going back to bed.  See some of you at Platte Canyon HS this Friday and the rest of you at the Lair on Saturday.

Go 'Cos,

-Tyler

But then again, there always is, a lot going on.  TK has a bunch of gigs to round out '08.  Be sure to check out our schedule:

We'll be in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Bailey the next couple of months.  We'll heat up an acoustic show at the Meadowlark. We'll be on the radio two times: once at 1190 in Boulder and once at 88.9 in Fort Collins.  We'll play the Larimer and the Lair.  We'll play a hike shool, Billy.  We'll play a biker bar.  And finally, we'll play with Slim Cessna's Auto Club.  A Slim a Cessna.  Holy shit!  This one's gonna hurt.

Hope all is well, Knew Brews.

This past Saturday was an AKNF day for the Knew.  We had the pleasure of sharing the stage with our favorite bands in Denver (American Relay, Black Lamb, ect.) and got a great review from the Denver Post's Reverb.  Present them:

 http://blogs.denverpost.com/reverb/2008/06/16/westword-music-showcase-the-golden-triangle/

"The Knew: This was the single-best set I saw on Saturday. And that's saying something, because I ducked out of the showcase slightly early to check out the Warlocks/Black Angels show at the Bluebird Theater later that night. (Click here for the review). The Knew has always been a solid live band, a good-times rock outfit known and loved for their wild shows and their garage-styled rock 'n' roll.

But now it seems like they're all grown up. Playing with the right mix of garage and classic rock at Andrew's on Lincoln, their music leapt off the stage and into their fans' chests. It wasn't long before everyone was overtaken with the passion — the need to move and dance and yelp along. Talk about a welcome evolution. They made a good thing better, and now the Knew — prepped for what will be one hell of a CD release show on July 26 at the Hi-Dive — are one of the most exciting bands in the Mile High City. I honestly can't wait to see a full set from these boys. "
