Whoah man, why would you bail on friends/ bandmates like that. Definetely a dick move. My reply: I have no idea why you would judge me like that. I warned them prior to leaving that I was not going to take any shit. Did they tell you that I fed them for 3 days, bought cigarettes at $10 per pack, put them up in a FUCKING Marriott, and 2 nights in a great hotel in Portsmith and never even got a thank you? Josh actually pulled me aside in Jersey to tell me how much of asshole I am and how nobody likes me and I still took care of him. I realized that neither of them are my friends and it really hurts me. As for bandmates they were only destroying my music. Watch your back, those two are only out for themselves. Don't ever give any of them any money. I don't even know you, but no one deserves to fucked over the way I was. If you don't belive me, fuck off and die. Just don't ever fucking judge me like that again. I really hope you are not a person of faith, because with GOD on my side, people such as you will feel the rapture of the firey pits of HELL for eturnity.
Kindest regards, Kevin G
The Response: No I'm not a "person of faith" and WOW. All I feel the need to say is that you're a much bigger douche-bag than I initialy thought and I don't think god would be on your side when you've disregarded so many of his commanments in a simple paragraph. You fail by virtue of your massive hypocracy.

What's up everyone, Kevin O. here. I'm writing to you from a really nice hotel room somewhere in New Jersey. (fuck it, i'm not dealing with capital letters, it messes up my flow, so deal with it) yesterday was amazing. we rolled into new york after being lost in jersey for about an hour. we arrived about five o'clock and got a wonderful parking spot right in front of the venue (crash mansion). we loaded up our gear in the green room and went a walkin'. we ate a a really good food joint called phebes, the burgers there were great! after that we decided to find the infamous cbgb's. we finally found it and now it's a vintage clothing store. they still had all the records and posters, autographed ramones stuff and the stage with gear set up. apparently jimmy page was just in there the day before and played the guitar. kevin g asked if we could play a song and they totally let us bust out high school girl on the stage!!! so we got to play in what was once cbgb's! awesome! after that we headed back down to the crash mansion and met up with jeremy. jeremy was an awesome dude! needless to say, new york was our best show yet. there was about 150 people there. the crowd really seemed to enjoy us, and we enjoyed them. everyone there had nothing but great things to say about us. bill the sound guy was awesome. again jeremy was a really cool motherfucker. we finally headed out about 1:30am, and kevin g. was f'n smashed. we stopped somewhere in jersey and got a pimp ass hotel room and watched adult swim all night. we're off to west virginia today to play a coffee house, should be a great time. after that we're off to cincy. that's about it for now, just wanted to keep everyone in the loop about our tour thus far. we hope to see some of you out at the last two shows! -Kevin O.

Alright you dirty fucks, here we go: Everyday has better than the last. We hung out with The Sheckies (buy their shit) for a couple of days and we miss them already. They're by far the coolest motherfuckers I've ever met. They showed us around south Jersey and took us to the best hot spots for fine Jersey dining. Definately trust these fat fucks when it comes to food. If I lived here I would be bigger than Fat Fuck Frank (King). Oh I almost forgot, they hang out with a cool little Mexican Boy too. He's a mouthy little fuck, but he was adorable so I let it go. As for the Hurricane East, awesome fucking venue!! I got to cage dance and even strip during the Sheckies set. Watch for the videos to be cumming soon. And I got to dance with the cutest little punk rock girl at the club. I tried to get her to come back to Ohio with me, but she had a boyfriend. Every fucking time. Now to the shitty part. The belt on the Infamous Bricktop Barney falls off every time it rains. So Andy took me to his buddy's auto shop to get it taken care of. It cost me eighty-five fuckin' dollars for about ten minutes of actual labor, but that's better than breaking down in rush hour traffic in New York city. Within two hours of leaving, the belt magically fell off. We were stuck in the hood for about hour trying to get it back up and running. A little scary, but we survived. I'm going to contact the shop when I get home. If he doesn't credit the amount plus a little extra for his shotty work, there will be hell to pay. I'm not going to talk any shit because I haven't called him yet. I'm just pissed, but hopefully he will rectify the issue. If not, feel free to call Jim's Auto Service (609-886-0334) and let him have it. -Kevin G

so it's day five of the tour and we are in a comfy hotel room. i myself am pretty pissed off for reasons not relating to tour news. i hooked up my blackberry to kevin g's computer and it wiped out all of my music and videos.... i really want to punch a wall right now but due to past experiences with that i now know better. i'm working on a video blog which is up on youtube. the first couple of days were kind of "eh". kevin g was really sick, throwing up all day before detroit and pretty much throwing up all day before cleveland. detroit was ok except for the sound guy who was pretty rude. the crowd was amazing... moshing to love songs. that's a good name for a record. we drove back to bg that night and crashed at my house, which was nice but wasn't really a "tour" feeling, but the tour began none the less. the next night was warren, ohio, which is by cleveland. it was a really nice place, but the crowd was lacking. however, it was really nice that the bar served coffee. the bartender made it just for me. i told her i just got out of rehab a few weeks back and i don't drink anymore, so she was kind enough to make coffee. go her. we ended up crashing at casey's house from johnie 3, thanks casey! the next day was spent driving to delaware (hey, we were in delaware). somewhere in pennsylvania the van broke down. a belt popped off and we, well they, spent an hour and a half fixing it. finally, they got it on and we were on our way. we were pretty skeptical about the show. there was no one charging at the door, in fact there wasn't anyone at the door. it was a little hole in the wall, in the back of a building up a narrow staircase. it looked like an abandoned store. but we got paid before we even played and the promoters were awesome. the crowd was the best crowd so far, easily. todd from the tit patrol is one cool motherfucker. after delaware, we began the long drive to new hampshire. i slept most of the way, due to getting some really shitty sleep in the van the night before. apparently josh cut off two, not one, but two state troopers. they let us go both times. we were going to record at the electric cave, however, we decided to save some money and just record at the g-spot. tonight we have a show in maine with the guts. then we have a day off, then a show in new jersey, then nyc baby! after that, we play west virginia, then cincy @ bikehaus. for the remainder of the day, we are just gonna continue to hang out in the hotel room, and go get some food and watch the history channel. i'm putting the video blogs up here for those of you too lazy to read.

THE BRICKTOPS STAY HOME SELF-RELEASED Anyone into that Screeching Weasel/Riverdales/Queers/etc. sound will fall for Ohio's The Bricktops. And it's apparent from the get-go STAY HOME is even better than their previous split. They kick off the 14-track album with the hardest/best of all: "Taryn Is a Lesbian". Yes, these guys have a wicked sense of humors like their pop-punk forebears⎯many songs deal with girls, but in unexpected, twisted ways ("Taryn"; having the hots for an older lady on The Briefs-like "42"; being hated by your gal's oft-drunk mother, "Girlfriend's Mom"…). Other topics touch on television, including⎯and I love this⎯an ode to Chris Hansen of DATELINE NBC fame and his 'To Catch a Predator" series on "Perverted Justice", and on "Bayside's Gone Mad" (as in SAVED THE BELL), the band chronicle how the school has gone decidedly downhill ("Murder in the Brady House", anyone?). Other greats: "Possessed" and the two final sing-along tracks "Bricktop Bop" and "Don't Move". -Janelle Jones

Dick Nothing’s review of "All Roads Lead to Knowhere" (Knowhere)
This is going to sound biased, due to seventy-five percent of the bands on it being my friends, but this will probably remain, in my mind, the single greatest pop-punk record of 2008. After, of course, the upcoming Steinways album (oops, see other reviews). WARNING: many fruit references lie within this review. Ah, the trappings of using waaaay too many metaphors. Due to relationship/work/all the other shit circumstances, I’ve come to realise that life is much better operating under pure retardation. And lots and lots of coffee. Well, you know you’re in for a treat when the first song leaps into play, "New Pop Punk". I don’t think you could pick a better song off the LP to sequence as the opening tune. Its follow-on "Bird Flu": not so much into it. It sounds like Green Day trying to be quirky, however it does have some excellent guitar parts midway through. The biggest token has to be awarded to the Hollywood Nightmares’ tune "Work", which is just fucking perfect. If this was nineteen-ninety-something, it could easily be the My Brain Hurts rival. Yeah, it’s sort of a meme (VERY Lillingtons inspired), but it sits really well as their "goodbye" tune. Say goodbye to anything inspiring and say hello to the SEDATIONS! Four "piss-stained" first comers, devoid of anything slightly resembling talent or ambition. If you’ve seen these guys live, they have the air of a dying skunk covered in horse spunk. They will offend even the hardest criminals of society with their pissy, whacked out countenance. Oddly enough, though, it works, and the Sedations rock out their tunes with much panache and style. "Up your ass with broken glass, up your bum with bubblegum!" Priceless. "All the kids in town going to the show, learn a new dance called the ’pogo go go!" (go go go!)" Hahaha, yes! They have the feel-good aesthetic of the Ramones in their later days and a dirty, Sloppy Seconds type attitude to set them apart from others in their field. They’re well worth your time, Leicester readers, so go and see them at the Shed and buy the release in discussion. Their drumbeats are quite heavy and their guitars are really loud, but so is Phil’s Voice. They also manage to make their backing vocals really stand out. Their sound can be compared to a rare berry (their I go with the fruit references, again...) which can not be picked from just any old tree (or in any record shop, rather). You will never hear something that sounds this good on the radio. Best melody has to be "She Sang Moon River", which opposes "And Your Sister", where they bring in a new meaning to the word "filth". Ah, yes, new pseudonym for Phil: Philthy Phil, directly inspired by the Queers. Ah yes, the Bricktops, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard something new from them after "Stay Home" (which, if you actually LIKE pop-punk, you should STOP READING THIS AND BUY THE FUCKING THING NOW, NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!!), and well, to sound really corny: their apples are just ripe, so it’s about time for some new material (apple pie). Yes, all songs are worthy of one another, nothing particularly standoutish because all songs excel. They all have the similarly polite vocal style, but posess a dirtier quality (ala, but to a lesser extent, the aforementioned cumbum of a band) which lies underneath. Example: First verse begins "I always wanted to go out with you", second verse starts "I always wanted to have sex with you". Which begs the question, ladies: what’s really meant in a love song? Guitars are standard, early Ramones influenced, but what really works well is the winding, and I’m about to cringe here writing this, adorable vocals which really guide the tunes to the standard they deserve. It takes a considerable amount of vocal skill to perform, for example, "I Always Wanted", and their reward is an honestly perfect pop song. Carefree, unpretentious, catchy. Phil Collins fans will run screaming, and so they should... pompous old bastards Sorry, am I being somewhat lairy now? Fuck it. The Griswalds: a hell of a band. Brains? No way. Tunes? Yes way. Here they don’t offer anything in the way of meaning or beauty, but they do however KICK FUCKIN’ ASS. This release definitely marks the moment in their "careers" where their sound becomes much more energized. So fucking fast, kids... And, woah, that’s not the only improvement, as it’s noticeable how much production quality has improved. This part of the split zips past in the blink of an eye. Like, y’know, when your mum buys grapes from the supermarket and everyone spends about an hour casually picking at them and before you know it, GONE! Heh heh. Band with the most comedic qualities: The Sedations. Most heartwarming band: The Bricktops. Most energetic, old school punk influenced band: The Griswalds. Who would’ve thought that a pop-punk CD could offer so much variety in theme and sound? You get everything here. Songs about love, songs about hollywood actresses, about UFO’s, the army at one point I think... and a nice ol’ trusty bash at the President of the United States. All this for so very little money too, one has to say. Two words: Repeat. Value. Songs most suited to a Summer situation, ie. rolling around on a field of daisies with a beloved spouse or at a fairground: "Work" by the Hollywood Nightmares, "The Kids" by the Sedations (or possibly "She Sang Moon River"), "I Always Wanted" by the Bricktops and "AWOL" by the Griswalds.

Ok folks, here we go!
2007 was a fucking blast. We got to play shows with some of our favorite bands including Johnie 3, The Hollywood Blondes, and The Prozacs. We also had 2 new releases throughout the year. The split with The Goddammits and full length album "Stay Home."
As for 2008, it can only get better. We just filled our bassist position with Andy C, we have 2 new splits coming out from Knowhere and Murk Ta Records, we just ordered 100 more copies of "Stay Home," and ordered some new stickers and buttons. We hope to get out and about playing a lot more shows this year so be on the lookout in the midwest.
For the time being, we may do a couple of shows here and there, but not too many because Josh and his better half are having a baby soon. So we're going to practice our asses off and hope to hit the road in late spring or early summer.
We would like to thank everyone who helped us book shows, played with us, let us borrow gear, and most of all everyone who came out rocked with us and got wasted. You are the reason we do this.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Current mood: sick
There's nothing particularly new to report here, but fuck me if this isn't a good, solid album. There isn't a bad song in all fourteen of these Queers/Screeching Weasel influenced tunes – the Bricktops have a full, "Wiggle" crossed with pick-an-early-Queers-album sound. They certainly don't sound tinny, which is becoming a bit of a habit with a few underground pop-punk bands of today. Without good production, pop-punk has no lasting value!
The lyrics are something to die for. I'm sure if these guys ever met the Griswalds over here in the UK, both bands would have a blast comparing their lyrics. The Bricktops, along with the boys from Orpington, tell a good tale well (although the Bricktops tell their good tale with their own accent) and capture the legendary sound of 1992 pop-punk as perfect as they capture a schoolboy crush in one of their many standout tunes "Teacher's Pet". Gorgeousness of the most beautiful order will also be found in "Working Man", "42", "Do What I Do" and "Don't Move". "Working Man" also recently appeared on the Punk Rock Review compilation Barfights and Broken Hearts, which you should all go out and buy… NOW!
