Here's a new ALL THINGS JEEP CONTEST and we know some our MySpace friends will be up for entering!

Yup, it's time to try and Win our Money! A $500 Gift Certificate to AllThingsJeep.com to be exact. Can you say, "Sweeeet!"
This year we have something that's really gonna make you work!

It's very simple in idea, and potentially complex in the execution of your entry. It's profound, really. Simply answer the question we pose here:
It's a Jeep Thing...You wouldn't understand. WHY?

Yes, WHY?

Tell us why it's a Jeep thing. Better yet, SHOW us why it's a Jeep thing.

We want you to create a short video (using a camcorder or the video mode of your digital camera) showing us why it's a Jeep thing. (Is your brain already thinking of what you could do? Good!)
So create that short video (30 seconds to 5 minutes is what we figure), upload it onto www.YouTube.com (for the world to see). Add some tags which will help us identify it as a contest entry. ex) All Things Jeep Contest

And maybe YOU could be the lucky winner of a $500 Gift Certificate to AllThingsJeep.com.

There's a bunch of rules and requirements (nothing you can't handle). You'll find them all here. http://www.allthingsjeep.com/jeep-thing-contest.html

We imagine all sorts of cool entries - rock crawling, rap sonAll Things Jeep Contest to Win $500 Gift Certificategs, improvisational dance routines, poetic interpretations spoken while fender deep in mud. You get the idea. And we can't wait to see them.

If you are not the creative type, or your camera still requires that you take your film down to Walmart to have it developed, well then sorry. Please participate by viewing the videos and voting for the ones you like best. They should be a lot of fun.

Frankly, this contest requires some effort. We don't expect a lot of entries because so many people are lazy. But that increases YOUR odds of winning. So skip work, rustle the kids out of bed, and get going! Your odds are good!

The contest runs the month of August 2009 and we'll post winners the first week of September. Let the games begin!

Current mood:  cheerful
............

Bust out the tents! Load up on bug-spray! Fill the cooler with ice and tasty libations! Pack it all into the Jeep and head out for fun! What could be better than a weekend full of camping & wheelin’?

 ....

Mike White aka MrFreakinWhite, who works here at All Things Jeep, also happens to be president of JonFund, a Connecticut based 4x4 club. This weekend they teamed up with Vermont Expedition Society (VTXS) to hold their annual camping & offroading event, Field Trip. Also in attendance were a few members from Western Mass 4x4 and Northeast Toyota Crawlers (NTC).

 ....

Collectively, a whopping 35 trucks showed up for trails ranging from the brain-rattling, bone-shaking, hardcore runs to a stocker night run. I’m proud to add that my bone stock TJ on 31” TrXus Mud Terrains made it through said stocker run with zero tugs and only moderate scraping. A 2” lift and I think I’ll be able to do it without the ugly sounds from beneath.

 ....

Speaking as the smallest Jeep (by far) at the event, you don’t have to have a super-modified rig to have fun with the big boys (and girls!). Joining an off roading club is a great way to have fun with people who share your interests, off roading and otherwise. It also gives the perfect opportunity to learn how to wheel safely and pick the brains of those more experienced than you. After all, who doesn’t like talking about their own Jeep?

 ....

We work hard on our rigs, and seeing those modifications get tested and pulling through in extreme situations is satisfying in a way that only 4x4 owners can truly understand. The only thing more satisfying? Perhaps a half-mile long line of 4x4 grills climbing their way behind you. What can I say? Wheeling camaraderie gives me the warm fuzzies.

Keep Jeepin,

-Lindsey

Hello, Jeepers of the world! There’s a different voice behind the blog force today, so I suppose there’s a bit of an introduction in order. I’m Lindsey, All Things Jeep’s first summer intern (woo hoo!). I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a complete Jeep newbie, though being surrounded by Jeep digs and gurus full time is helping to rid me of that title – I hope!

Every Jeeper’s story starts somewhere, and mine starts with, well…not a Jeep. Instead it begins with a lovable, but somewhat unreliable 1997 teal-green GMC Sierra pickup truck. Granted, “The Green Monster” had faithfully plowed through countless snowstorms, been the daily driver of 3 teenagers, and taken its fair share of road trips before it finally hit its breaking point last summer, but not having your car start in the morning is still a drag. While the truck spent a few days at the shop getting reevaluated, a family friend was kind enough to let me borrow their Jeep Wrangler. (Note: Never borrow a Jeep Wrangler unless you are prepared to someday get one because you will  get hooked.) Fast forward roughly 9 months and The Green Monster had been semi-retired. Taking its place? “The Green Machine”, a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X, of course!

The Green Machine is just a stock baby at the moment, but there are big plans ahead. Until then, its only job is acting as the vehicle of choice for a bunch of college girls home for the summer – which is really a pretty nice job if you think about it. The Jeep is also the preferred napping spot of my six-year-old chocolate Labrador, Bodie. He’s unbelievably talented at sneaking into the backseat and refusing to move until he’s gone for a ride, though I really can’t blame him. Bodie is yet to try off-roading, but I’d be willing to bet he’d look great in mud.

I’ve come to think of Jeeps as the rabbit hole. It starts innocently enough; you buy your Jeep, cruise around topless once or twice, and maybe think about getting some bigger tires to try off-roading. Then suddenly, you’re spiraling out of control! Tow hooks, lift kits, the really big  tires, lockers, winches! Down is up, up is down, and all you want to do is hit the trails, climb everything in sight, and get covered in mud! Where does it end?!  I’d say you could go ask Alice, but I’m pretty sure she’s still off wheelin’.

So... tell me, what do you think should be my first mods to the Wrangler? I'm ready for advise.

Well, it's that time of year again. The time you thank your Dad and the time you give presents to the kids that have managed to make it out of high school or college alive. In the retail world, it's the "Dads & Grads" time and my job is to make it easy for you to thank them (and congratulate them) with ease.

So, if they're a Jeep dude or dudette (hopefully, not your father, but maybe someone graduating), we came up with a little gift for them that won't cost you anything (so long as you're buying other stuff.)

Spend $25 or more at www.allthingsjeep.com and this great Jeep Hat is FREE.
http://www.allthingsjeep.com/dpm-cbjp2002.html
Yup, free. AND you get to choose your favorite color ( er, I mean Dad's favorite color). How sweet is that?

Got a bunch in stock, but when they are gone, the offer is over. So if you like this promo, don't be a slacker. Order now!

We thank you.

Here's the skinny on these great new posters....
In most cases, you won't find this image available anywhere else. These are hand numbered, limited edition giclee prints.* The vendor is licensed by Chrysler to reproduce vintage Jeep advertisements, Jeep Concepts, and current Jeep imagery in this format.
Two sizes are available. A small 9" x 12" size is $19.99. A larger 18" x 24" is available for $42.99.
Our Jeep prints and posters are produced at the time you order them.
They will ship in 4-6 days from ordering and will be shipped using standard ground shipping. Please choose Standard Shipping and include a physical address. At this time, they cannot be shipped outside the USA. Sorry.
Read more about the Giclee process below.
*What is a giclee print & how good is the quality?
Our Jeep art is hand numbered, limited edition, giclee prints. An original limited-edition fine art print is a work of art created and developed by the original artist for the purpose of making a small number of reproductions of his/her work called an “edition”. These types of original graphics include stone or copper plate lithographic prints, silkscreen prints, etchings, monotype prints and many other hand crafted variations. This one-at-a-time printmaking process is difficult and expensive and thus sets a very high standard in both quality and price. In recent years the giclee process of limited edition fine art prints has been added to this list of acceptable graphic processes by many leading artists.
The giclee process uses technology that allows the artist or archivist to create editions made one-at-a-time to a very high quality standard but without the difficulty of working in reverse on a copper plate or stone or silkscreen. The giclee process requires great attention to detail to be certain that the original work is laser scanned correctly and color corrected to perfectly suit the paper or canvas or cotton rag substrate that it is to be applied to. Once ready the digital file which is often upwards of 300mb is transferred to a “Piezo” printing device. This device translates the color information in the file into hundreds of millions of ink droplets which are sprayed onto the final archival material of the actual print. Many proofs are rejected as artists and archivists work to get their desired results. Once found acceptable a proof is created. As each piece of each edition is made, it is numbered by hand and offered to collectors.
Limited-edition fine art prints should not to be confused with reproductions of existing works that are reproduced photo-mechanically for offset litho presses. These “lithos” are usually produced in mass quantities on printing presses which typically run at 10,000 impressions per hour. Many poster companies focus on “lithos” and as such offer mass produced images at mass produced prices.
Our manufacturer is expert in giclee editions. All of our art and photographic editions are created using the one-at-a-time giclee process. We guarantee your satisfaction with our work as we strive to bring you rare images that you and your family will cherish for a lifetime.
Our Heavy Archival paper is manufactured from a wood pulp paper product and looks fabulous matted and framed under glass.
We stand behind these products 100%. Each print comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your print you may return it.

Current mood:cookie!
Like I said in the last blog, every time we sell cookie cutters, I send a note along with the order begging for cookies. (I will never be too proud to beg for cookies) In the three years I've been here, I have never seen a cookie. Not one. Not even crumbs.
Until today!
Chris C (http://www.myspace.com/ohio_deathtrip) is THE MAN! Not only did he send us a whole bunch of Jeep cookies, he also sent some yummy no-bake cookies, too!

Not only are they great looking.... they taste great, yoo! The man can cook! (and weld, too, I hear)
THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS! WE LOVE YOU! (ok, Mike doesn't love you, but he's really glad you made cookies)
You made my day! (and everyone elses here, too. Yep, I shared)
See that? We have the best customers ever!!!!

From our about us section on Allthingsjeep.com:
"Kerry - Kerry is our customer service queen. She'll do almost anything for our customers so long as we keep her M&M bowl full. You may hear her cheerful voice on the phone when you call us."
Now, this is very true. I have a desk full of chocolate, and although these days it's mostly the darker and healthier stuff, it's still chocolate. Ever since I started working here, I have had a bowl of chocolate near me. I am small, but I can easily put away pounds and pounds of the stuff. Why do you think I'm so darn cheerful when you call?
We always joke with our customers to send chocolate to keep the beast content and providing you with the best customer service. Norman and Jean have always been good at keeping my bowl full, but no customer had ever responded until Ric from Florida did this past holiday season. And, did he ever...

Last week, when I had about 100 returns/exchanges piled up next to my desk, I came upon a box addressed specifically to me. It was from M&M corp! I nearly shredded my fingertips trying to get that box open! Inside, the card you see above, featuring "Santa Leo", one cool canine. And... OH MY GOD!... M&M's with my name on them! Check out the close up...

That's right, the M&M's actually say "Kerry's JEEP". How cool is that? Thanks again, Ric, for brightening my day with the sweet gift! (Of course, the M&Ms were gone seconds after these pics were taken. M M good!)
Now, where are those cookies that I've been asking for from every person who ever bought our JEEP cookie cutters? I know you saw the note I wrote on your packing slip...

Current mood:  blessed
Hi everybody! So many of you have sent messages and I haven't been able to get on the 'space since early December... I just want to say.. WHOA NELLY!
What a crazy month December was here in New England. On the 10th, we had an ice storm that knocked out power for all of us. I was the first one to get power back, after only 24 hours. The rest of my coworkers, however, were not so lucky. 10 days without power! Our area looked like a war zone, with poles and trees scattered everywhere. There were so many roads inpassable due to wires and trees down. It was the worst any of us have ever seen. Of course, we all lived to tell the tale, so it wasn't so bad. We are, after all, New Englanders. We can handle anything!
The timing of the storm was bad... two weeks before Christmas. ATJ had no power for 4 days... not a good thing during the busiest time of the year! We all pulled together and made it through the "cheerful" season. We got every last order out the door and went home for a sweet 10 day vacation. Time with the family... the best gift of all!
I hope you all enjoyed your holidays. Despite all the pre-holiday craziness, I think it was my best Christmas yet! Lots of love and family... and electricity, too!
Thank you all so much for the well wishes and support! The JEEP community is truly a wonderful gruop of people! You were all so understanding and patient. We literally wouldn't be here without you!
**CHEERS!**
Happy New Year! Glad tidings! Tire side down!
Lots of love and respect,
Kerry @ Allthingsjeep.com

PS. Troy.... you owe me some beer... or shine... either way, those 'Canes just couldn't take the mighty B's!
