ustralia seems to be the hottest frontier on the contemporary funk & soul scene at the moment with bands like The Bamboos, Cookin' on 3 Burners, Deep Street Soul and Kylie Auldist stirring up a storm in the southern hemisphere and beyond alongside DJs like Russ Dewbury.
The most likely candidates to become the brightest stars of this fast growing scene are new Sydney-based combo DOJO CUTS featuring the young and powerful Roxie Ray on vocals...a new soulful little queen has been born!
Their first single "The 123s", from their debut album "DOJO CUTS feat Roxie Ray", will be released on RK in April with a cover of Marie "Queenie" Lyons sister funk classic "See and Don't See" on the flip side. If you dig Sharon Jones and Nicole Willis & the Soul Investigators you'd better watch out for Dojo Cuts. Gabriel Roth and Neal Sugarman have already declared themselves fans of the band so they can't be wrong! "Wonderful earthy vocals and crisp playing. This is a very promising debut for these Aussie funksters. Definitely going to be played on the show”. The Craig Charles Funk And Soul Show (BBC 6Music). “Great effort and will get DJ Club and radio play from me!” Nik Weston (Mukatsuku Records). “A solid enough funk/soul cut. Lovely smoky vocals, and a nice soulful bridge” Pete Isaach (Jelly Jazz) “Good stuff!” Dom Servini (Shook Magazine / Straight No Chaser). "Superb stuff, sounds the business and what a fantastic voice! Spot on-in the box it goes" Lack of Afro (Freestyle Rec) “Nice groove on this 7. Loving the guitar chops!” TM Juke (Tru Thoughts)

I can't believe it been a year since I posted something on my space, a lot has been happening with ithinkmusic since then. We now have 1000 + labels and store using the system and continue to build a solid cross genre following in the independent music scene.
I really liking what I am listening to lately, working with new bleeding edge music for sure changes how and what you listen for. I have even decided to start DJin again...
Anyway that it for now, expect a longer rant Monday. This weekend I am helping a friend make a big picture of Obama that will hopefully get picked up on google maps...

Brand new! Jus'Listen Recordings EP5 by 'Daco' - out now! out now... The new JUS'LISTEN RECORDING DIGITAL EP5 DACO 1. Electri-ciety 2. Electri-ciety (Jonny Miller Remix) 3. The Way It Goes 4. Keeps Callin' Feat Sarah Howard Mancunian musician David Connorley, also known as Daco, has been steeped in soulful music since the early nineties. He's worked with members of Factory Record's ACR, Everything But The Girl, soul diva Denise Johnson and Chicago house music pioneers Maurice Joshua and E-Smoove. In recent years, Daco has developed his own solo material spanning house, disco, soul and jazz. His band L.T.A (Love The Action) graced the Phuture Lounge label with its disco flavours and Daco's currently part of the Elektrons live set-up touring the world with fellow band members the Unabombers, Pete Simpson and Mpho Skeef. Jus'Listen Recordings welcomes Daco to the label with his first official solo release. 'Electri-ciety' highlights Daco's love of the 4/4 groove, the original disco-tech flavoured mix also given a broken beat twist by Jus'Listen label boss Jonny Miller. 'The Way it Goes' keeps the broken vibes flowing while Sarah Howard's smooth vocals on 'Keep Callin' reminds us that summer is just around the corner. Buy it here jus.ithinkmusic.com

www.thinkmusic.com has been going a few months now and we feel it's high time we had a Launch Party (and remove the word beta from the system). A great opportunity for the labels to get together, have a drink and let the public and the press know that there is a download revolution going on. It's a kind of co-launch to also shout about a couple of new Cluster Stores now using the system. Cluster stores, for those who don't know are collaborative, non-profit sites that represent a group of ithink user Labels or Artists and return the full 95% of retail to the participants. [ CLICK HERE TO BUY TICKETS] The two stores are Coopr8, mainly representing the broken beat family and A Bunch of Cuts, representing the UK Drum n Bass scene. Another big shout out to Orin aka Afronaut, Bopstar and Markus Intalex for all of their hard work. The line-up for this Party couldn't be much more special - The Politik LIVE (Mark de Clive-Lowe & Bembe Segue), Bugz in the Attic, Phil Asher, Marc Mac & MC MG, IG Culture, Benji B, Markus Intalex, DJ Krust, DJ Die, Danny Wheeler, Simbad, Kay Suzuki, Bopstar, Spoonface, MG, Mystro, Mention, Motet plus dance crews................WOW !!!!!!! For full details visit the Coopr8 site. See you there.......Labels using ithinkmusic needing the guest list, get in touch with me or skip. ..

Our payment gateway Protx recently introduced new requirement for taking Maestro and Switch card payment as a result for the last 20 day all ithinkmusic stores have not been able to take card payments using this type of debit card.
We need to make changes to to our merchant account to enable the new 3D Secure, a protocol that redirects customers to their own bank to type in a password as part of the payment process.
Unfortunately because the change in requirement came into place on the 1st of August for all online retailers the changes to our merchant account have been delayed.
Because of the delay we have been given a exemption until the 1st of September so for now all store can again process maestro and switch.

Looks like Jonny Miller bean burning the midnight oil cookin up some beats. Jus'Listen Recordings EP4Click the link above. Only available on his store at the moment but may in a few weeks we'll all be able to sell it. 1. Cold Air (Zed Bias Remix) 2. Cold Air (Phuture Lounge Original) 2. Nine Eight Zero (Jonny Miller Remix) 3. Everyday (Ok Ma Remix) Summer 2007 and its time to let loose with some killer remixes from Jonny Miller's `Jus'Listen Recordings digital label. First up, Zed Bias re-wires 'Cold Air' a track that lead Jonny's EP for Bias' Phuture Lounge label back in 2006. Zed's forthcoming album for Sick Trumpet Records is due out October and his remix here gives us a taste of whats to come. The original version of 'Cold Air' has been re-mastered for EP4 making it available in digital form for the first time. Ok Ma are slowly building their name as one of the new breed of quality soul production teams with strong releases for, amongst others, R2 Records. The boys deliver a raw, urban remix of 'Everyday' with future beats and a sharp synth hook that sticks in your head like glue. Jonny himself gives 'Nine Eight Zero' a re-shape to close the EP, the track gives a nod of respect to the London dubstep sound whislt keeping its soul firmly in Detroit. Jus'Listen Digital EP4 is fully a mastered release, shaped for maximum impact and crystal clear sound quality in MP3 format.

We have started work creating the atom feeds for content which will form the basis of the ithinkmusicAPI. The API when finished will enable www.ithinkmusic.com account holders to host their ithinkmusic store on their own server and fully integrate it's function with the rest of their internet site. The first atom feed we have created describes a single release and will be used as a data source for an embeddable music player people can place on their web sites or myspace pages. here is the feed for The Politik on Antipodean Records . http://www.ithinkmusic.com/atomfeed/atom-release.php?s=itTDT1&r=637Note: the get var "s" is the ID for the store and "r" the id for the release. Enjoy
