This has to be the biggest problem when it comes to spending our money.

Clothes.

Too many of us are buying 'pretty' dresses and 'cute' shoes, which. lets face it- Look absolutely HIDEOUS on us.

Heres a great example-

Ugg boots.

I hate them.

Unless you live in an igloo in Antarctica- they are absolutely useless.

They are comfy, I admit. A bit snug. But as for beneficial, there is nothing to say.

Unless frumpy is the kind of look youre going for, they are just not for fashion. Nobody's legs will ever look good with them, not even Naomi Campbell could pull them off, and well, she has got gorgeous legs.

If you really have to buy them, just do yourself a favour and wear them in the house.

As for other clothes.

How many times have you walked past someone in the street who is no taller than 5'4, but wears a maxi dress?

How many, lets just say, vertically challenged people have you seen wearing skinny leg jeans?

How many people have you seen wearing a high neck top, and they have huge tits? It just doesn't look right.

There is just a majority of people who are wearing things that look good on someone else, and they dont realise how fantastic they could look if they wore something that suited their body shape.

You all know what I'm going to say now...

get yourselves on the Littlewoods website, and where you see Trinny and Susannah in a box, I want you to click on it, calculate your shape and see what youre missing out on.

And if you cant stand them, (which I can never understand) then check out what Gok Wan has to say. His book is in ASDA for £4.99 or something like that so read it!

I promise that you'll see the compliments come flooding in.

Seriously, I think its time that we felt good, and we can't do that unless we look good can we?

Is a load of bollocks, basically.

As are all diets.

Yeah sure, we lose a few pounds, maybe even a few stone, but it's not really going to last long is it?

Here are the advantages*:

Weight loss

Dropping a dress size

and here are some of the disadvantages:

Dramatic, rapid loss of fluid, which causes skin to sag (whatever age you are)

Cravings for food

A new attitude towards food- you will either feel that you want it even more or you cannot even look at it in the same way.

Depression, even more dissatisfaction with your shape and weight.

An unbalanced diet, which will result in further yo-yo dieting, which can't be good for you.

A quick session of comfort eating, to reduce the hunger.

And most of all... You LOSE your boobs!

What girl wants to lose her boobs, and trade them in for saggy bags hanging on the chest?

So, "What do I do instead of dieting?"

Well, I can't stop you from dieting, but I will try and persuade you to choose the better option.

Exercise.

It isn't as scary as it sounds. I don't mean going to the gym three times a week, or joining a pilates group (which would be great if we were all as enthusiastic as P.E teachers, but we aren't) I just recommend gentle, quick exercises that you CAN find time for.

www.amazon.co.uk

and type into the search bar- Callanetics

There is a choice of the full workout (whihc is hard at first)

OR because Callan Pinkney knows that no girl (or boy) wants to spend all that time working out, there are three separate videos of 20 minute Callanetics, which are:

"Quick Callanetics- Stomach"

"Quick Callanetics- Legs"

and "Quick Callanetics- Hips and Buttocks"

I PROMISE you that you won't be wasting your money. It's not jumping about to dance music and routines that are too quick to follow. You just need 20 minutes, and a bit of space on the bedroom floor.

I use the stomach workout, because that's my biggest problem at the moment. We all have issues with our bodies, but dieting is just torture!

And if you don't like the stretching, toning idea then again, on www.amazon.co.uk type in 'Rosemary Conley' and have a look at the Rosemary Conley Ultimate Whole Body Workout.

With exercise, we often give it all up becuse we don't see anything change quick enough.

That's naughty, and we are all guilty of it. You have to keep at it, and once the results come along, they stick around. They last far longer than any diets results. Because you havent given up any food, you wont feel the need to fill yourself up with crap.

So overall, it doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you exercise.

NEVER restrict yourself and deny yourself a treat.

DON'T think that eating shit loads of Weight Watchers food means you'll be heathy (It is FULL of aspartame, artificial colouring, flavourings and preservatives)

BUT if you really REALLY feel the need to diet, I recommend:

Slimmingworld- a diet plan that you can actually eat whatever you want with. Its just basically teaching you how to have a balanced diet.

The Special K challenge- As long as youre eating one normal meal along with the two bowls of cereal, it doesn't do much damage. But check your BMI first.
