The Soul. What is the soul? How do you look at a man and see his soul intact? The native americans believed (according to Wayne's World, at least..) that when a man died his soul would raise from him in the form of steam in the desert. So, superstitions aside, from what evils should we protect the soul in this day and age?

The Strange Death of Liberal England have just set up a Twitter account so you can keep up to date with our most banal thoughts whilst we are in the studio througout December. Thoughts so irrelevant that we wouldn't even commit them to paper, but this is the 21st Century and this kind of thing is encouraged. Get up to the minute alerts by following us here:

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
AGENDA:
** TSDOLE at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms This Saturaday with iLiKETRAiNS

** Recording in December finally finally

** MusicGlue/Curtain Falling Free Download/The Animal 5!

i. Saturday 24th October 2009. It'll only come round once, what better way to mark its passing by standing open-mouthed in the Wedgewood Rooms with the spec-tac-u-lar line-up we'll be throwing your way? Made up of Aeroplane Attack, Swimming and every gramaticists nightmare, iLiKETRAiNS, We shall be on third of the four bands around 9.45.
For those who are yet to see the evidence of our recent shenanigans with the Richard P Horn Wind Orchestra please proceed to click on the YouTube link below for three tracks:

ii. Recording! We have built up quite a body of tracks since Forward March! and it has come to our attention that best practice might not be to let them whisper into the breeze, fading like last nights dreams. Instead we shall be going into Old Blacksmiths Studio for the month of December and making them as permanent as our bicep tribal tattoos. Results to be communicated in due course.

iii. We can now be found on new music website Music Glue (http://www.musicglue.com/thestrangedeathofliberalengland). Have a look and you can download 'Like A Curtain Falling' for free.
This track was also recently covered by Swedish friends of ours The Animal 5 at their recent hometown gig in Malmo, have a look here for true swedish man passion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeGXQfLrJi4

Because you get a song for free and we get to know where in the world you are so we can plan future tours and visit where you live - everyone's a winner!

We will hav a link up soon but for now make do with this:

Greetings from camp SDoLE,
First off, thank you to everyone who came to see us at SouthseaFest on saturday and made us the first band of the day to be one-in-one-out. Secondly, sorry to everyone who waited inline outside and who didn't get in, next year we'll have a bigger venue and a mightier roar!
Now that festival seaon is over we're setting our sights on two monsters on the horizon:
On the 24th October we will be holding a joint headliner with our friends from Leeds, iLiKETRAiNS. Support being provided by Swimmers and Aeroplane Attack. A mouth watering prospect indeed, and a chance for everyone who couldn't get in at SouthseaFest to see us in the southcoast's premier independent venue. We're having an afterparty at The Edge where we'll be djing and pogo-ing the year away.
And, FINALLY, on the 28th November we will be loading up the Strange Bus and heading to the studio for a month or so to record our debut long player and, rest assured, we have plenty of tricks up our sleeves.
That is all for now, but keep your eyes peeled for these are exciting times,
Andrew E. Wright

A reminder to all the Strange Death gig gowers out there....

We are playing STOKES BAY FESTIVAL in the town GOSPORT where we all grew from small beans to big beans before jumping ship (quite literally - google 'Gosport Ferry') to sunny Southsea.

We are supporting the ZUTONS on the opening night (WEDNESDAY THE 29th JULY) which we think is pretty cool.

Tickets are £25 for the Wednesday BUT because we are good eggs, you can print off the flyer below, show it to the ticket chaps and get £5 off of the entry fee, providing you pay in cash.

We look forward to seeing you there.

ALSO

On Saturday the 1st of August we are rocking up to Camden to play at the NO ONE DIES night at the Enterprise.

We are on at 10.45pm with support from ARROWS OF LOVE and BODIES OF WORK followed by the good old NOD DJS until 1am.

Advance tickets are available from the link below. They'll be more available on the door but the enterprise can fill up quite quickly - advance tickets guarantee entry & are cheaper than paying on the night.

We would like to take this opportunity to appoligise for our messy myspace and slight neglect of our internet friends however we can promise you that we are not idle boned, but have been busy working on new songs for the second album, which won't be mini like the last one.  Thank you for the all of the enquiries, it is comming, just slowly...

As you can see by our shiney new myspace page we have had a bit of a tidy up.

But after all that hardwork, we needed to soak up some sun and headed out with our snap shot buddy Joe Watson for a bit of a photo shoot / rambling / sunbathe...

On April the 16th we will be playing a very special show at The New Theatre Royal. This is the beautiful location where we shot the video for our last single, 'Angelou'. Support is being provided by Joe Black and we have a rather exciting surprise planned, which will be announced nearer the time and won't want to be missed.
Tickets are £4 only and can be purchased from the Theatre's Box Office (tel. 02392 649000)
Check out Mr Black's music at www.myspace.com/misterjoeblack
