So, you want to get involved with Current? Maybe review a film or get involved with VCAM (view created ad message). Well say no more.

Do you love movies? Well then why not submit a webcam review to The Rotten Tomatoes Show?

So, what works? First and foremost, do a test shot. This is as simple as firing up your Flip or PhotoBooth. We like concise (5 min, at most) critiques where we can see and hear you without squinting. If you want to know what we like, watch the show and see which reviews are used. Other questions? Email John, online producer for The Rotten Tomatoes Show.

Another way to get involved with creating content for Current (and get paid) is by making a Viewer Created Ad Message. VCAMs are typically 30-second commercials that you create for our sponsors. If your VCAM is selected for air, you can earn $2500 depending on the VCAM assignment.

Recently, we hosted an assignment for the new HP Photosmart Premium. Check out the selections here. And we’ve got a new Lexus Hybrid VCAM Assignment launching soon; stay tuned!

Until next time,
Brigett

Since we began shooting Common for Embedded, we have built a great relationship with him and his team. They came to us for Make Common’s Day because they knew Current had experience in doing these sort of viewer-created video call outs, and they wanted to take a unique approach to making a video for the song.

So we teamed up with Common to give filmmakers and animators the opportunity to direct their own music video with his track ‘Make My Day’, between September 14th and 28th, 2009.

From the many amazing uploads, Common hand-picked his favorite, by Josh Milowe, Elizabeth Casal and Mike Potter (collectively known as Wealthy Pictures). Check it out!

Current supports all kinds of view-created content. Earlier this year, HP ran a VCAM (Viewer Created Ad Message) assignment on Current.com, giving you guys a chance to make HP’s ads. Four VCAMs were selected to air on Current, and the producers earned $5000 each. Check them out!

Check out Embedded tonight as we bring you the Silversun Pickups, K'naan, and Arcade Fire tonight 11/10c.

Silversun Pickups bring us into their life as they prepare for the release of their album “Swoon,” which debuted in the Billboard top 10. We’re there as Silversun Pickups hit the road again after a year in the studio, and we join them at KROQ the morning the album debuts. Also, K’naan tells us the story of his life by showing us the albums at Fat Beats Records that carried him from the war fields of Somalia to the streets of New York. Plus Arcade Fire turns out a rare acoustic performance of “Neon Bible” inside a freight elevator in Paris.

Until then, Current Music blogs about their time with these bands and why they are close to our hearts.
