Current mood:  cheerful
Holyshits it's been about a million years since I posted a new blog. I'm always flying around over at LJ so I hardly ever come here. I'm so sorry! I love all of you kids and I really need to get back in kahoots with everyone. Especially you guys from high school! I miss my posse!

It's weird how people can be so close and then eventually hardly ever talk! You know what I mean! I'm talking about my bestest friends who were like a family that I have barely seen over the last few years ;_; why do we have to grow up!? And whatever happened to my big muscular men from art class? XD are you guys still my bodyguards, or what?

So anyway, to sum things up, I miss everyone! I've just been chilling out, being poor, and loving life. I'm a maid now, which = not that great of pay but a lot of good times. It's pretty gross, but it's a good job!

I still absolutely love everything just like I used to X3 so those of you that I haven't talked to in ages, feel free to come by and poke at me. I want to rekindle all the old friendships that I miss so much! I want to return to that state in high school where it was impossible to go to any store without running into 10 or more people I could comfortably call friends. Let's do this, everyone!

My dog Baby got out of our yard a while ago and she's been missing since. She's an orange pomeranian and she answers to the name Baby or anything that sounds like Baby. If you find her, please, please let me know! We're offering a reward for her return and if you let me know if you see her I would really appreciate it!

I really miss her, and I hope she comes home somehow ;_;

Category: News and Politics

The other day, Savannah sent me a news story she'd found (you can read her post of it here) concerning murders that were oddly reminiscent of Death Note. It freaked me out but intrigued me, so I got bored this morning and did a little hopping around on various sites to come up with some stuff, and ended up finding a completely separate story concerning an unknown murderer in Belgium who calls himself Kira and so far as murdered two people. Here's some exerpts, because they can tell better than I can:

From Comicpress:
Breitbart.com is
reporting that notes with the message "Watashi wa Kira desu" ("I am Kira") were found near the scene of a murder in southern Brussels last week. According to the report, "local police have launched a murder investigation and that they consider it unlikely that the notes were left there coincidentally [...] Translated versions of "Death Note" are available in Belgium, where the comic is popular among young people."

From Wikipedia:
The Manga Murder (Mangamoord in
Dutch) is an unsolved, Belgian murder case possibly involving a serial killer, referred to as the Manga Killer.[1] The name of the case was coined by the Belgian media and has to do with the notes that were found near the victim. The notes carried a sentence originating from the popular manga series, Death Note: "Watashi wa Kira dess", a misspelling of "I am Kira" (?????? Watashi wa Kira desu?).[2] Light Yagami, also known as Kira, is the protagonist of the series. In Death Note, Kira goes on a killing spree assisted by his supernatural note book, trying to cleanse the planet of criminals. The case got much of attention from the Japanese media.[1]

From Otakuan:
La Dernière Heure, a French daily newspaper in Belgium similar to United Kingdom's The Sun or America's New York Post,
reports that two identical messages linked to the Death Note manga were left near severed body parts that were discovered Friday afternoon in the forest of Belgium's Duden Park. According to the newspaper, the two paper sheets both say "Watashi wa Kira dess," an apparent misspelling of the Japanese phrase "Watashi wa Kira desu," or "I am Kira (Killer)." This is a catchphrase from writer Tsugumi Ooba and artist Takeshi Obata's Death Note, a suspense manga series, in which a high school boy discovers a notebook which allows him to kill people by writing their names in it.

From Japanator:
"Watashi wa Kira dess", was scribbled on two sheets of paper that were left next to two piles of severed body parts in Belgium this Friday. After a five hour brainstorming session, Belgian police came to the conclusion that the killer probably meant 'desu' instead of 'dess', and continued on with their investigation. An investigation that lead straight to the manga Death Note. Yes, this is real (maybe not the desu part), somebody really did murder two people and left a message that was obviously from Death Note. No other evidence was found as of yet, only the body parts and the notes. My heart goes out to those people who had to suffer because some deranged otaku attended Light Yagami's school of ethics.

So, yeah... aside from the fact that murdering people because of a manga/anime is retarded, and the pathetic attempt at them being Kira makes me giggle a little... this is fucking scary. People are dying here. The fact that it's nowhere near me doesn't make it any less freaky. Between the story Savannah found and this one, it looks like there's a lot of psychos running around thinking they're Light. Now we just need a few psychos running around pretending to be L and things might improve slightly XD sorry... terrible joke. But you get the point here. This is damn scary, and makes you remember not to take things you watch and read too seriously.

I wonder how long before this starts happening in the US and Death Note gets banned? With all the crazies in this country, it's only a matter of time. And even if no one pretends to be Kira here... someone will get killed and the government will blame Death Note anyway, and it'll get banned that way. Whatever.

But yeah, scary stuff, man. Wouldn't want to be living in Belgium or anywhere else it's happening right now. Though chances are the Belgian Kira gave up when a Shinigami didn't show up in his house. Whacko.

I'll go ahead and shut up now...

Current mood:  nostalgic
Category: School, College, Greek

So, this morning I couldn't get back to sleep, so I went ahead and read Little Butterfly again (which I borrowed from Savannah and should probably give back soon), and now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have, because it got me thinking about graduation, and I hadn't really thought about it before.

It's been a long time since I graduated (six months, actually), and the reality of it hadn't really set in before. I was just really glad to be done with school and not have to deal with it ever again. But now, thinking about it, everything has changed and there are a lot of things I really miss. Most of the people I've known since I moved here, I'm never going to see again. I grew up from a kid into some semblence of an 'adult' with them, and now they're all gone to different states and most of them are off to college, and things will never be the same. I'll most likely never get to talk to them again. And I miss them now, thinking about it, like I hadn't really before. I guess it's reality starting to set in (finally).

There were a lot of good times in school, actually. I met a lot of people I never otherwise would have talked to, I did a lot of things I wouldn't do on my own, and I definately learned a few things (shockingly). I remember all of us sitting over by the gym door at lunch and rambling about stuff, I remember me and Sparky's dance-offs, I remember how me and Savannah used to walk around at lunch in 11th grade and talk about nothing. And then the times in grade school, which me and some of my friends spent most of getting picked on, when we went to the bathroom at lunch and threw wet toilet paper at the ceiling. Those memory are pointless and in no way heartwarming, but they're some of my fondest all the same.

So, I feel sufficiently better after this rant. I guess in all reality I wasn't really ready to graduate and I'm going to be missing everyone I can't ever see again (especially Noelle), but it's happened and there's nothing I can do about it. I guess I can just be happy with the way things are now and deal with it, because maybe life's sort of about that.

So for those of you who haven't graduated yet, just remember to make the most of the time you have left. Because it'll be over much quicker than you think, and then there are a lot of things you can never get back, even if being out of school and feeling like a real adult will probably be awesome. Talk to the people you know you're going to miss, because chances are you won't be able to in the future. I don't mean to be depressing, but it's reality. Some of them you're going to lose forever, and the ones you don't lose, you're very lucky to still have with you. Don't forget about it and go all superficial on me, or I might have to bitch slap you. *insert heartwarming rant here*

If any of my long-lost friends happen to read this, give me a call or something and tell me how you've been doing. If you don't have my number, message me and I'll give it to you. Or just message me and talk to me XD

Take care, guys. Have fun. ^^

Current mood:  hyper

Holy crap... I know there's really no explanation for me saying this but... EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! EVERY SINGLE TINY THING!!!!! I'm in love... WITH THE WORLD!!! ?

I'm not sure why, but I'm having the best time doing nothing at all. Today I went to the fair with Kio-nana and Natsy-cake (and YES, guys, I WILL insist upon calling you your fruity names until you learn to accept them! HAHAHAHA!) ... we went on a bunch of upside-down-y rides and ate some weird Greek food that kinda made me sick, but it was the best anyway! It tasted good, even though my hands were all gross from the rides. This weird band was playing over by the pond thing, but they were so much fun, even if they singer scared me a little. We went on a rambling about how someday we're going to play there every year. It will be amazing. I just hope we start doing some music soon. Waiting for everybody to get started and get everybody together is making me want to explode. But...

EVERYTHING IS STILL AWESOME! I can't sit still! I went to bed because I had a migraine, but then I got up because I had to write something down, and now I can't get to sleep, but that's ok because I seriously can't stop typing because my fingers won't stop moving and I've never been so hyper in my life (OK, so I was this hyper 2 hours ago, but whatever). And I have leftover cotton candy. And it's all so amazing! EVERYTHING is amazing. I can't sit still. I love the swivel chair. I'm making so much noise and I don't even care, who cares if it's 2 in the morning. I'll never sleep again!!! YES!

I love you, whoever you are! I'm in love with everything and everyone and I will jump and dance and sing and fly all over the place!! The moon and the stars and the dead lizard in the yard... it's all beautiful and I love it!!!

And now I'll go and try to write some semblence of a story for Britt's birthday, even though I doubt I can form a sentence that makes sense write now. It'll be about SOUBI AND DANCING BUNNIES! YES! Take that!

So yeah, goodnight, excuse the outburst...
JUST KIDDING I'M STILL HERE!!!!! AHHH!

Woo! I haven't updated this blog all summer! :D I haven't done much, just a lot of writing. I started a ton of novels, but I'm not sure which one I'm going to finish first. Bah. I just hope I can manage to get published before I turn 20. That's my only goal. I'll be 19 in 2 months, so I've got some time. I finally updated the layout, too, since the M2 one made it way to hard to read the words.

I've been reading a lot of good stuff lately, so in case anyone's looking for something to read or watch for the last month of summer, I'd recommend "Cry to Heaven" by Anne Rice. It focuses on a young boy in 19th-century Italy named Tonio Treschi, who is abused by his depressed mother. Tonio is a singer, and is fascinated by the castrati singers of the church. He has spent most of his life secluded with his mother, and when he meets Guido Maffeo, a once-great castrati who lost his voice years ago when he turned 18, his life changes drastically. It puts a lot of focus on the blooming romantic relationship between the two, which, despite the age difference, is really very sweet. It's full of great characters as well, and includes a lot of emphasis on music, as well as a bit of crossdressing. I'd recommend it for fans of yaoi and/or musical media.

I've also been watching a lot of anime series in one sitting this summer, so if you're looking for something to watch, just bother me about it.

Also, I'm looking for a serious manga artist who might be interested in collaborating on a project to submit to Tokyopop. Let me know if you'd like to give it a shot.
