Our new EP is available now from eMusic and Amazon MP3.  Links are below.  It's not up on iTunes yet, but it will be soon.  Apple can be such a diva sometimes!

We're thinking about playing live again, but we need help. If you play
bass, guitar or minimalist drums and you're comfortable taking orders,
send us an email at themetricmile@gmail.com.

The "In Praise of Ski Jumpers" single is out now on Kingsland Territories, and available for download from all the usual places.  The reception has been good so far, and a few blogs have even written nice things:

skatterbrain!
alex loves you and your silly pop songs
unpopular

We're working on KT-02, and we are confident that it will not take as long as KT-01 did.  Geez.

Current mood:  hopeful

We have been on hiatus for a while.  We're working on not being on hiatus anymore.  There are so many things we would like to do, but doing things is hard sometimes.  Hope you'll bear with us just a little while longer.

The single is back from the pressing plant, and I'm in California playing with My Teenage Stride. As soon as I get back and the three of us can have a little sleeve stuffing party, we're going to have a single for sale. And I'm thinking maybe we should do a tour, because this is fun. Except the driving. We'll do our tour by jet pack.

We're working on some plans for a few out of town dates for the Metric Mile in the fall, after the release of the single and hopefully the completion of some more recordings. But in the meantime, I'll be touring this summer with My Teenage Stride as an additional guitarist and keyboard player. So come out and see us and say hello!

The release of the "In Praise of Ski Jumpers" 7" has been delayed slightly due to an unfortunate accident at the pressing plant. It seems that the metal master plates broke after pressing only 5 copies of the record. New plates are on the way, and then we'll be back in business. We've heard the test pressing, and it sounds fantastic, so sit tight. We were really trying to have it ready in time for the NYC Pop Fest, but these things never quite go as planned. Like Grant McLennan said, slow, slow music.

Kingsland Territories, our new recording concern and record label, now has a MySpace page. It's young, and still has some growing up to do, but you can expect tracks, photos, and wonderful things to come. It's there in our top friends list, or you can find it at www.myspace.com/kingslandterritories. Kingslandterritories.com is also worth checking out if you're so inclined.

By the way, test pressings of the "In Praise of Ski Jumpers" single should be arriving at HQ today. Are you excited?

The Metric Mile is proud to announce the formation of a new recording concern, Kingsland Territories. The first release will be a 7" single featuring "In Praise of Ski Jumpers," with "Codebreaking" on the flip, with a release in late May or early June. Distribution details are still in the works, but it will be available at the very least at shows, the finest and most select record stores in at least two of the five boroughs of New York City, and through our soon to be completely overhauled web site, and the soon to be created label site. The tracks will be available for sale digitally as well upon release of the completely obsolete but much more artistically satisfying vinyl version. You can stream the tracks here, for now, and if you're really smart you can probably download them through some hack or other.

Other releases will follow as finances allow...
