Wasn't sure about copyright issues, so videos of us doing a couple of covers at The Mercury Cafe are posted here: http://www.uraband.com/downloads.htmlOh, by the way, we went live with our companion site: http://www.URAband.com. Instead of reinventing the wheel, it's more like a repository for our copyright-compromised content. We will try to keep you posted HERE of stuff posted THERE. Enjoy!

To give credit where credit is due, the artist that created our logo is Andrew, one of the guys down there in our top eight. He terms his style American Abstract and has plenty more way cool pieces that he'd love to show you. If you dig the logo, check out his page. Andrew's on Lincoln starts up again this Sunday. Participating musicians get FOUR FREE DRAFTS (Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite) for playing. And if you're a drummer, step right up, because if the sweet, rockin' sounds of Dulcinea's proved anything to us, it's that we sound REALLY GOOD with a dedicated rhythm section. Thanks to Aaron, Nick, Rick and Jake for a really kick-ass time there and for letting us get our feet wet with the next step. Make sure to check out the new uploads on our jukebox. We crammed eight of us in that little studio and split the two DJ mics on the console. Amberlee (one of our bestest friends) played percussion on a metal weinerdog that looked like it was supposed to hold mail in it's spiral body. Julia did an Altoids solo. Zombie Love Song made its debut. Priceless. Oh, and the radio show we were on was Spacebar, and if you can check 'em out, they play some eclectic and far out stuff on their show. Thanks to Steve for getting us in there in Eau Claire!

Well, if the question is whether the four of us can tour around the midwest in a caravan, playing music and generally having a joyous time while still speaking to each other by the end, I would say that the answer is a resounding YES!
The people that we met and the places that we played are unforgettable, and the tour itself acheived a dreamlike ease. Fireflies, friends and family... Oh, and we got to play on the radio in Eau Claire, WI. We'll get that uploaded as soon as we get it chopped down, which reminds me that I should go do that.
Ogden St. South this Thursday! Don't forget! :)

To quote Diamond Joe Quimby, "I couldn't be happier with how that went."
Longmont is great people. Josh and Kyle took expert care of us while we were at Left Hand, which rawks. Mike, Mark and the rest listened to every crazy tune we could play (even Zombie Love Song), and Julie and Kevin played super hosts afterwards.
So thanks to everyone at Left Hand Brewing Company! We're really looking forward to coming back, and Mike, we're looking forward to that party in September!
Other business:
We're not going to be back from the Midwest tour in time to make the June 24th restart of New Artist Station @ Andrew's. If we can get a few acts lined up ahead of time, it's a go on the 1st, but otherwise, we'll start it up FOR REAL on the 8th. Same start time as it was going to be: 3 - 6pm. Talk about Afternoon Delight... :P

You may have noticed references made to "Return to The Fishbowl". Well, it's not quite a new album. The idea was to run back to The Fishbowl and pound out the demo again but this time with more takes than just the one per tune. Our chemistry and approaches to the songs have become more unified, and we wanted to update our material. At this point, though, we've got some fun outtakes and alternate versions that may or may not make it onto a new and improved demo. Frankly, we're not sure what we've got going with this new project, but since when has that stopped us?

So I went through and added a whole bunch of friends I can hardly find time to talk to. I even told my mom I'd put fresh material up for her. Problem is, my little G4 iBook is not recognizing thumb drives, SD cards or blank discs. So, short of dragging my tower up to the only spot in our house with unencrypted wireless, I've got a little troubleshooting to do. If you have any ideas, feel free to chime in, but for now, know that we've got takes from our most recent recording sessions waiting to be uploaded and sent straight to your ear-hole. That's right. I said "ear-hole", and it's hyphenated because a hyphenated ear-hole sounds that much worse. Check that out. That one was double-hyphenated. Yick. So that's what I've got for new content so far, Mom. Love you! :) We've got a little anti-war, a little hopeful gospel and some originals that are really taking shape. One upside of the weekly Andrew's gig is that it's weekly. We can workshop just about anything. We've got some new artwork, and Mandi is determined to get a new version of our demo into everyone's hands. In the meantime, check out the Grand Theft Politics article in Slate that Julia sent me: http://www.slate.com/id/2163221/I knew there was a reason we were learning Study War No More... to put the spectacle back into politics. Oh hell yeah!
