For this Saturday's show, Beautiful Creatures will be printing a special edition newsletter - and the back page is all about YOU!  Submit your valentines personals and confessions (in a private message to us) and we'll print them! - and BE SURE to let us know how you want to identify yourself (by first name, MySpace nickname, or anonymous).  Don't have a Valentine?  Place an ad!  Show off your wit and insanity.  Just have something silly to say?  That works, too.

This year, Halloween falls on a Friday night, so River Oaks paired up the weekend with "Priscilla: Queen of the Dessert" on Saturday, November 1st.  To  tie the films together, we're doing a "Rocky vs. Priscilla" pre-show before the Halloween night showing of Rocky Horror - remember the sketch on Drew Carey? 

Some roles have already been filled, but we need MORE people.  You must:
* Be available for rehearsals on:
   Friday, Oct. 18th 17th 10:00pm to Midnight (or later)
   Friday, Oct. 24th 10:00pm to Midnight (or later)
* Be available to perform on Halloween night
* Be able to learn choreography and practice, practice, practice between rehearsals.  The video is on YouTube!

Deven will be casting the skit, and running the rehearsals.

All rehearsals/performances will be at River Oaks Theatre in the upstairs lounge (or until an upstairs film lets out)

Participants will have to work on their costumes, but much help will be made available, including a small budget.

I'm going to try to post weekly (or whatever) resources of things I find online for folks aquiring their own costumes.  A lot of things are on eBay, and if they are from the UK make sure the seller ships to the US (if it's not clearly stated, ask them).

I've had some cool conversations recently regarding the characters in the show, and I thought I'd open up the topic and see what else develops!  Basically, I'm talking about character development - what motivates your character?  What is their background? 

There is no right answer - just an answer that adds dimensionality to your performance - especially when they aren't on-screen (but on stage).  A lot is already provided for you in the film, but there's so much more...

The last known place was at the River Oaks Theatre, which has been thoroughly searched since.  This was definitely a trophy piece of costuming.  The jacket  was an original vintage from the 1960's, and the fringe was added by hand.  It took over 6 months to individually collect the original and replica badges and patches - many identical to the film's jacket.  The badges that couldn't be found were paintstankingly replicated with custom embroidery machine.  To say that I spent hundred of hours recreating this jacket is an understatement.  Some of the badges are beyond priceless and require an enormous stroke of luck - such as the original Hells Angels badge.

I will not be recreating this jacket to that level of authenticity again.  I simply cannot invest the hundreds of dollars and paintstaking hours again.
