ok a lots happened since i posted the last one.  and i gotta say we can finally check off Dry and Heavy from JAPAN.  if you missed it, please pray that Mai comes back for another show.  im sure she will be back, cause she had not realized how much people in HAWAII love her music.

Seassons change and so has my wish list for the future.  so lets get started.  First ill start with the foundation artist.  More cause i want to see them before its to late.  Like missing out on Denis Brown, Hugh Mundel or Garnnet Silk i wanna see em all.

1.  Beres Hammond - so many big tunes to list.   people dont even realize some of the big tunes that they know are from this man right here.

2.  Tony Rebel - this man is such a rounded artist he has music from the past and into the future.

3.  Johhny Osbourne - again a huge artist with many tunes including songs like "ice cream love" and "truth and rights"

4.  John Holt - big hits with "Police in Helicopters" and "beach party"

5.  The Itals - i dont even have to explain why it would be crucial to see them.

6.  Mighty Diamonds and the Gladiators. - these bredahs have been there since the begining. ya don know!

MORE into the modern artist. this is not in order from best to worst mind you. this is a list of LOVE.

7.  Gentleman - ok i say it time and time again, this is a upful artist with a lot of energy.

8.  Warrior King - one of my favorite modern artist straight outta JA.  He has a mean voice and most positive songs.

so many more artist to list...  im just putting it out there HOPING that someone will read this and find a way for hawaii to experience these artist first hand.

Well everytime i go to Jelly's i try and pick something out of the LIMITED selection of reggae they have.  Oh don't get  me wrong, they do have some Jems in there selections of reggae music... Moving on, so this past Tuesday i went and got "The Biggest Reggae ONE-DROP Anthems 2007" album.

Like the 05 and 06 anthem cd's by greensleeve it came a Double Disc but unlike the previous years this time they give you a set of songs and a DVD with Music Videos and some extras.  These Greensleeve Anthem collections are a good choice no matter what.  ill spare you the details of the songs and just send you to your local record store.

onelove and happy reggae hunting.

lately ive been listening to Reggae Music from Japan.  Just to start off im Japanese, but ive never been there nor do i speak any Japananese.

One thing i notice in the youtube vids and Japanese reggae pages on myspace is that they have a huge DanceHall scene.  Sounds Systems like Mighty Crown keep our eastern bredrens up to date on top of everything that concerns modern Reggae.  One thing you'll notice is the huge ARENA size dancehall parties that they have.  its pretty amazing that they not only know the dances from jamaica but they know the lyrics without knowing english.

Minmi is one of my favorite artists ive seen.  Her energy as a performer makes me forget that i dont have a clue what here lyrics are.  The song titles sound tasteful so im pretty sure im not listening to some weak hearted tunes.

Among the Modern Dancehall what really got me into looking at Japan was a band i found on cd like 5or6 years ago called "Dry and Heavy".  There name doesnt stray away from how they sound and they prove it in there ONE PUNCH album.  Among them are other groups like Bagdad Cafe, Cultivator and Dubsensemania.  And Once again showing how Foundation Roots has influenced thier music they prove their worth in the reggae world.

So far Dubsensemania is the only band that has touched ground in hawaii.  i look foward to MORE music from our bredrens far east.

if you got any Japan reggae bands you think id be interested hit me up.

onelove to all

eversince i could remember i would wish for an artist to come to hawaii and i can say now... years later that 90% of them came through.  SO this is my mental wish list in cyber space of reggae artist i HOPE to come down.  i guest the my whole reason for doing this was because ive never had enough money or resources to travel and see things in there natural state but only enought thought to hope the best.  JAH RASTAFARI!  sorry off track for a second.  anyways here it goes. onelove. here in no particular order.

1.  Gentleman - not the oldest on the list but definately one of the "newest foundation artist" in my book.

2.  Black Uhuru or Michael Rose - ever since i heard his live album ive been hooked.  he'll keep you in tune from start to finish.

3.  ABYSSINIANS - ok you want ROOTS here it is.  one of the bands that started it all.  singers/song writers of Satta our Reggae Anthem and many many many other songs that owe to my heart.

4.  ALLLLL the V.I.(virgin islands) crew.  im talking Bambu, Midnite, Abja, Dezarie, Army, Niyorah, Red-i Band.  hard hard hard roots music.

5.  Warrior King. - the first song i heard was "Hold the Faith" ive been hooked ever since seen!  i seen a live dvd where he opened for Capleton AND HE KILLED IT.  super upful energy vibe, JahRastafari!

thats all i got for now, beleive me i have many many more artist i wanna list but ill save em for later.

blessed.
