Ok, so we don't want to sound like Metallica or like a bunch of whiners, but we just caught wind that the complete album has already been leaked, and yeah, it's awesome and exciting that people are into it, but we just wanted to express to you guys how much we put into this record, and we're not just talking about money (although we paid for the recording ourselves and had no financial backing whatsoever, and are still quite heavily in debt for it and we're working class people who have day jobs, not wealthy rock stars, blah blah blah); but we're also talking about the time and effort and love that went into it's making.  See, we don't have a label anymore except for in Australia (Laughing Outlaw, you rule), so for the first time we're trying to do everything by ourselves.  We're making the cd cases by hand because they're more beautiful and unique this way, but also because we can't afford to mass produce it yet.  We hope that some people will buy it and then we'll be able to re-invest and have more cds made so we don't die of bloodloss from papercuts, and so Lindsay's baby doesn't have to eat gruel (just kidding).  But seriously.  If you want to listen first, go ahead, check it out.  We totally get that.  If you don't like it then we'll call it even.  But if you do like it, and want to keep listening, please please please help us out.  Fifteen bucks for you might not mean much (or maybe it does, in which case, please don't feed your babies gruel so you can buy our record), but it means a lot to us.  It means that we'll be able to afford to keep making music that gets out there.  Which is what matters most to us.

We are pleased to announce that we will be touring Australia in June, following the May 30th release of our new album, Stay Gold, on Laughing Outlaw. We're playing Adelaide, Melbourne, Ballarat, Canberra and Sydney with The Devoted Few (who we've heard great things about), and then Brisbane.  Can't wait to see you all again!

Side B of our forthcoming album has been up for two weeks now, so we've just replaced it with Side A, for those of you who missed it the first time around. We're gonna leave A up for another week before we count the votes. Charles is massively in the lead, so now is the time to speak up if you think there is a superior choice for our first single.

We're playing Pop Montreal on Friday at Le Divan Orange (4234 Saint-Laurent) at 3 o'clock sharp.  It's our last show for a while with our priceless drummer, Lindsay Wills, who, as of November, will be taking a maternity leave from the band.  We'll be playing most of the songs from our new album, and we swear you will not be disappointed.  Not only because the new material is rad, but also because it is such a rare and exciting sight to see a 5 months pregnant drummer slammin' the skins. Hope to see you out there!

It's official: Lisa and Laura have joined The Dears, playing bass and keys/vocals respectively, and will be touring with them this fall in North America and Europe. No worries though; Pony Up is still the their top priority. The new record is finished and will be coming out in February, with shows in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan to follow.
