Jason Frost is best known for his association with the Seattle grunge movement of the early 90's which included bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Marcy Playground and others. For the past decade, Jason Frost has remained an underground member of the independent rock artist community. He also served briefly in the US military during those years where he was missing from the music scene. His home on the Internet is JasonFrost.com and FrostyJ.com where more of his music and latest developments and projects can be found online.
Why this name for the band? Its an anagram for "UN EVOKE TROJANS & JOSTLE FISH"
Do you play live? Yes, best times were small impromptu shows miles from civilization, and in the middle of nowhere. At like Grateful Dead/Phish outdoor type gatherings and barter festivals when that whole hypnotic and dreamy jam atmosphere is in full effect.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? Information travels faster. Speeds up things and offers more for everyone to enjoy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label? Yes, depending on terms of contract, of course.
Band History:In 1991, Jason Frost got his start in rock music while attending The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA (near Seattle) where he played coffee houses, small clubs and parties. Many of the grunge bands like Nirvana and Marcy Playground started out in this town. He jammed and practiced in warehouse space previously rented to Nirvana, Marcy Playground and others. He played in Band Alley where he shared space with some of the biggest names in rock music, at the time. Splitting costs and sharing warehouse space formerly rented and occupied by Nirvana with his then college dorm roommate John Wozniak of the Marcy Playground, he developed a keen understanding and interest in the music business. Penning numerous songs and honing his songwriting skills, he was making his mark in the local performing arts community and churning out 2 to 3 songs a day. Often writing funny and humorous songs about people he knew including one about his roommate, "Johnny So Bored" which later appeared on Blue Moon & Company CD1 around the same time Marcy Playground's "Sex and Candy" was receiving national airplay and climbing the Billboard charts for the first time. For the past decade, Jason Frost has remained an underground member of the independent rock artist community working with both other artists as a collaborator and stage crew technician, helping to organize and promote shows and charity events at both a local and national level. He also served briefly in the US military during these years where he was missing from the music scene. NOW, after disappearing from the music scene for what felt like forever, Jason returns with a positive attitude and an unmatched hunger to bring his special blend of music and unique spirit to the masses. He is once again ready to perform and record music. Thus we give you the return of Jason (Roman) Frost, a true rock soldier! The next CD, "Rome, The Empire Never Ended: The 'Angel Manifesto' project" will most likely feature the work of past and present contributing members. It will also include very unique and fresh collaborations from other members of the independent rock artist community (including a few guest cameos and covers from well known famous musicians from rock 'n' roll history). So if you would like to work on this project or contribute, just let him know. If you are a distributor, producer or record executive interested in funding, supporting or signing "Jason Frost & the Love Junkies," for this album project, future albums or distribution of previous albums then please contact Jason Frost by leaving a message with A Frosty J Productions (ASCAP) 863-245-6755 or by sending an E-mail to Jason@LoveJunkies.com

I was reading another friends blog last night here on myspace which prompted this response. Afterwards I re-read what I had written and I felt it was interesting enough to post here on the music page. It's a little more revealing about who I am as a person and let's people know where I (Jason Frost) stand on certain issues. I hope to get your sincere 'Vote for President of the Galaxy in 2008' if I have not gained your vote already!!!!, just so I can Rule the Riffen one more time and put Pac-Man and Asteroid Arcade Machines back in Donut shops, Laugh! Ha Ha... but siriusly folks, we shall now raise it up a bar into a more deeper level of discussion. Check back for more fun and games at a later time. Today is August 28, which means sirius business to some folks...
Interesting blog. Re: My response to friend who recently found faith in Jesus Christ.
Jason Frost writes:
I believe there are many paths to God and wisdom. I tend to view God as the whole of human and planetary consciousness or "All That Is." I have tried all religions and studied them all closely from Buddhism, Muslim, Islam, Janism, Judaism, Christianity and Roman Catholicism. I do not think I am religious, nor spiritual, but I am a good person and like the Dalai Lama "My Religion is one of Kindness" or Karma. I think all religions basically teach the same thing, be good to one another and general moral standards to live by (some of which were constructs written and made to control the barbaric behaviors of mankind by the ruling class). I think when we have those highly spiritual moments or communions with God, it is not God, but the greater consciousness and our Higher Selves that we are connecting with and I know for certain God or Jesus could never replace the love of a real person in my life, nor would any good decent God expect that from his creation. We are all a part of God, like a toe or an arm, or a foot and when we are in synch we make great things happen. I admire those who practice and observe religious traditions and generally think most of those people are well-mannered and nicer (and in some cases more trustworthy), but there are many also that use religion to their own benefit and means for profit and control. Many are not the holiest, nor practice what they preach. For me I can say I have found God. I walk with God. I am a servant to God. I always have been and always will be, my God has no name but probably looks and gives the same presence as yours, but will I reap rewards for this? Time will tell. So far things have been good and I have no complaints, but if there is a God he definitely has a favoritism to a certain class of people whether they live right or not. But generally I do feel God walks with me always, maybe he found me, because I sure as hell was not looking for him... but it was not in a church, it is in my heart and mind whenever I tune into that same frequency of Love and Light to those around me. The opposite can be said for tuning in with darker of the spectrum or evil entities. I have learned some people attract misfortune irrelevant to their convictions or religious beliefs, but based upon their percerptions perhaps and life choices. One thing I have learned is that whether you believe in God or not, ultimately he or "it" only helps those who helps themselves. Which is kinda like common sense to begin with. His miracles are definitely a thing of the past, although OUR power of belief in him and his miracles is how he lives and survives. I have met many believers and many non-believers in my travels who have been around to provide the same kindness that some young long haired dude named Jesus spoke of a very long time ago, but I still can't ever help but wonder though if maybe, just maybe he should of kept his mouth quiet and said nothing; because look where it got him. Ya know? Maybe some things are better left unsaid. And maybe this blog comment was one of those things, Laugh! Hope all blog readers enjoyed my little addition to this millennias old theological philosophical discussion. Peace, Jason

Hey Myspace peeps,
Just wanted to let everyone know that 2 songs of mine were recently released on 2 different compilation albums. Although my 1 priority is promoting and publishing new talent, I still drop a track here or there for various projects. I write rap, rock, and other styles. I started as a songwriter and performer originally before moving into publishing and charity work. The first track is a sorta Punk Rock tune and is on Race Track Rock (it's street date was Jun 26) so it should be in stores now.
'RACE TRACK ROCK VOL. I, II & III', featuring current/former members of Aerosmith, Anthrax, Journey, Ozzy Osbourne Band, Exodus, Jetboy, Badlands, Dangerous Toys, Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force, Ratt, and Quiet Riot, as well as Vainglory, American Heartbreak, Jimmy Crespo, Richard Kendrick, Bleed/Your/Faith, Freebleeder, Grayson Manor, Speed Freaks, Joetown, Cage, Discolored Perception, Shattersphere, Killer Six Gun, Cloudscape, Heat Seeker, Skull Shifter, Scream Arena, Redline, Blue Moon & Company (feat. Jason Frost), LAZ, Battlebratt, RadioVipers, American Trash, Jake E. To buy online visit: http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/7440304/a/Race+Track+Rock.htm
Google it or Visit Circuit City (link with CD, cover art & credits): http://entertainment.CircuitCity.com/Music/Album.aspx?prodid=VRSL20026.2&si=ccity-prod&store=Music
That was the rock/metal album info above, the other rap album info is below. The 2 songs are very different, 2 ends of the music spectrum, but I think I pulled it off well. Also a few of the bands I represent were also on compilations (if you are one of the bands reading this and see your name, complimentary copies are enroute to you now), and for the rest of you, if you get a chance check it out and grab a few copies for yourself and to give as gifts.
The other song on a recent compilation was a rap song I did for Snoop Dogg presents A Bosses Life vol 1 & 2. There were 2 tracks (We're Old Kings & J-Boom Everybody). I am not 100% sure which track they finally went with, but it was confirmed to me that it was on the album final cut with 50,000 downloads so far and also available for CD purchase. I'll post links once they send me more info and links. I am billed and credited on the Snoop Dogg presents CD as Jay-Boom, J-Boom, Jr. Boom or Junior Boom for this. (Not sure what name they used since I haven't seen the disc yet-but one of my Rap alias names or a variation of it was probably used for this one).
Well, I just thought I would keep you posted on some of the stuff I been dropping on the side, still busy taking care of alot of personal stuff and business as usual.
Wishing you all well.
Peace,
Jason Frost

The Swordmaker and His Son - By Jason Frost
--------------------------------------------------------
Once upon a time their was a town of Swordsville, And in this town everyone was a swordmaker, some were great swordmakers, and some were mediocre swordmakers, some were retired swordmakers, and some were students of swordmaking. They had their own Army and their soldiers carried marvelous swords made of beautiful metals and inset gems and stones.
In this village lived a father and his son. And of course like everyone else in the village they crafted swords. And the soldiers would come into the shop day after day to have their swords sharpened and recast. And The young boy would look to the soldiers and think,"Gee One day I hope I can walk like them carrying Mighty Swords such as father makes."
As the years passed the young boy learned from his father how to make swords and got even a bit better than his father and his swords became more marvelous with each creation. Sometimes the soldiers would even request that the young boy make their swords for them which made his father very proud.
The boy became friendly with the soldiers and one day a soldier invited him to come see a ceremony. At this ceremony, the young boy witness a young man take his oath into the sword army. What a grand celebration it was! A speech was given and the young man was handed the most marvelous sword he had ever seen, rubies, gems, and when he held it up to the suns like, beautiful rainbow appeared, and when he swung it in the air flames seemed to dance off of it.
The boy went home that night and told his father about this sword he had seen, and said, "Our swords do not compare to this one I saw! It was amazing!"
He also told his dad he no longer wished to make swords, and instead he wanted to join the Sword Army, (after all they just give you a sword, and you don't have to make it, and in fact they give you a beautiful one!)
The father agreed and said, "Yes I think thats a great idea, howabout we go see the Sword Leader tommorrow!"
The next day excited the boy woke up, and they went down to see the Leader of the Sword Army. The boy told him how he wanted to be just like them, and how he looked up to them, and what marvelous swords they carried.
The Wise Sword Leader laughed and said ,"You are aware of the indoctrination process?, I assume your father told you?"
The boy looked to his old father who had a look of confusion on his face and said,"Whats the Process Dad?"
And his father said,"I do not know? All I know is I make the swords for the soldiers and it serves a purpose and it puts bread on the table."
The Leader smiled and said , "Yes it does, you are a fine swordmaker, not the best, but consistent."
The boy shocked said father ,"He is insulting you!"
The father said ,"No he is right, I am just your average swordmaker and I have no shame in that. But you son you are better at it then me and learn faster! Someday you shall be the finest swordmaker in all the village!"
The leader and smiled and said ,"And when you are the finest swordmaker in this village we will come to you, but not to make swords for us, but to carry one alongside us."
He added,"Remeber that sword you saw us give to the young man. The one with fire that danced and glittering rainbows?"
The boy smiled and said,"Yes I remember it, how could I forget?"
The Leader said, "Well that young man made that sword himself, he worked on it for years, and that was his indoctrination process. Now if he chooses he can purchase swords from the village, get his swords' serviced, or even have you make him a new one! But he has earned that privilege of choice, while you have not."
The boy nodded and sadly left with his father to return home.
On the way back he said,"Why did you not tell me that and let me look like a fool?"
His father said,"Son, I honestly did not know, and if I had known that at your age I tell you what! I would have made better swords!"
My Analysis: ------------------- The meaning to this story is a simple one (I am guessing even though I wrote it). I think the sword represents the soul- which grows from work, service, love, and understanding. Its easy to look over the fence of your own understanding and wish you were in someone elses yard; but there is a purpose for every person, place, task, and time. And as long as we try our best to be of service and perform our tasks "whatever" they may be, remember that no task is too small to go unnoticed in gods eyes or the greater scheme of things. Also, there is just no simple path to enlightenment! And to get there it begins with us all accepting who we are NOW and where we are NOW and not where we are going!
Each lesson is a step. Enjoying the learning process and doing any job the best you can is key. The learning never ends and if we followed this story further I bet we'd see that the Sword Soldiers look to the Sword Leaders marvelous shields and secretly wish to carry ones like theirs. And the Sword Leaders Look Onwards even further to even greater goals of Acheivement. But each progression is a stepping stone and at each level it is important to do your best even if some levels take 100 years to get through! A lot of people are looking for the quick fix in this world presently, and its just not available or even possible in a human body in my opinion. SO focus on the moment whether it be banging a piece of metal, writing a novel, delivering a piece of mail, or even caring for a child, and in essence you will be strengthening your own sword for the future (And you will look back someday, sometime, someplace, somewhere and be very glad you did not take the easy way or waste too much time trying to make leaps and skip certain crucial steps in the soul-building process!) The next stop requires a stronger soul (sword) then the one you carry and when your soul or my soul is ready we need not seek admittance or search for this magic door. The door and all the answers will find their way to us.
The Moral: Get back to Work and Stop Dreaming! -ha ha | ..>

I will share one with you a little tune I wrote recently. when I play it to myself, here, it brings me peace....its a C-F C-F E-F-F-C sort of progression on guitar... it will be on the next album I am trying to put together by the year 3000AD, only kidding...just been busy with other stuff lately... like tending the garden and watering the plants [i.e. like Candide by Voltaire-my hero], but yeah it's coming along slowly .. and it will be Called ... Jason Frost & The Love Junkies in Rome 2000AD: The Empire Never Ended (or maybe I will change it to Rome 3000AD)... who knows how long the Empire will last?
More on ROME X000AD now and in future at: http://www.LoveJunkies.com
Anyroads, here's song I 'referred to above' just add lyrics to guiter chords.
song title: 6 Billion Dreamers by jason frost
The moon is just a rock that floats above you. Makes about as much sense as I love you. The Sun is 'bout the brightest star your eyes have ever seen And still you don't know what it means, and some of you never will. 6 Billion Dreamers, All Dreaming the Same Dream. 6 Billion Fantasies, All Guided by the Television Scheme. Look In for the Way Out, Instead of Roaming, Roaming, Roaming About....
Get Well Soon, It's My Birthday and I love you. The Money's Just some cheese dangling above you. The Sun is always shining on the Good Will of God's Hand. And still they don't understand, And some of them never will. 6 Billion Dreamers, All Dreaming the Same Dream. 6 Billion Fantasies, All Stuck on the Same Team. Looking for the Way Out, Instead of ROMAN, ROMAN, ROMAN About...
Exit Out This Way...It's the Only Way... For 6 Billion Dreamers.....
you may also like this one, it's a song I been foolin' with late night (unrefined for now, raw, just me, it's for those who seek immediate wisdom and not glossy super produced radio stuff, imperfection at its finest. enjoy.) Patience, takes a few minutes to load, and you may need to click 'refresh' on box-window that opens (or copy and paste url in new window)...sorta has a medieval flavor to it. Imagine it being sung in the Dark ages by a court jester in a King's court, a very, very long time ago.
It's called "loki from valkrie"...
yes I know valkyrie is misspelled
(but maybe the err is intentional?) - ya think?
another old raw one I been toying with is the "end of my universe"
(my old stepson plays piano on a few, just stuff we was messin around with.)
Peace to ALL My Friendz, Fam, Fans and Mortal Enemies,
Jason Frost

c.1:13
If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a tinkling symbol.
And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And if I dole out all my goods, and if I deliver my body that I may boast but have not love, nothing I am profited.
Love is long suffering, love is kind, it is not jealous, love does not boast, it is not inflated.
It is not discourteous, it is not selfish, it is not irritable, it does not enumerate the evil. It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth
It covers all things, it has faith for all things, it hopes in all things, it endures in all things.
Love never falls in ruins; but whether prophecies, they will be abolished; or tongues, they will cease; or knowledge, it will be superseded.
For we know in part and we prophecy in part.
But when the perfect comes, the imperfect will be superseded.
When I was an infant, I spoke as an infant, I reckoned as an infant;
when I became [an adult], I abolished the things of the infant.
For now we see through a mirror in an enigma, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known.
But now remains faith, hope, love,
these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
(my personal response to the above v.1:13)
If I lay here long enough and wait,
The suns light will carry me into a new day.
If I get lost in the nights between,
The stars will guide me back home.
If I desire more than I can have or attain,
It is because I am a but a child.
And when I no longer have these desires, wants, and needs,
then my soul will have grown up, and I will be a child no more.
And if soldiers of darkness come and crush my world,
Take my possesions, and destroy all that I have loved so much,
I will not fight back, I would let them do all they would unto me.
Because the world is but a playground for children,
A Recess for Fools, beggars, teachers, and thieves.
All of which will someday rise above their own needs,
And when they do they will all eat from the same table,
share the same bread, And drink the same eternal wine.
Not as enemies, with grudges or spitefullness, or regret,
But as friends, and old classmates gathering for a cosmic reunion.
And on looking back we will feel no shame for the wrong or selfish,
insecure behavior we exhibited here.
Because what we had done here in self gratification had in fact
paved the way for us unto this new day and beginning.
And on this new day our souls will not cry, or want, or need no more,
and all we will know is peace in the absence of darkness and body.
The darkness we have long loved, lived, and survived,
Guided only by an inner voice of reason, and the light that falls on us each day.
Then at that moment you will ask?
How can this past have seemed so awful, if it's just a pinprick,
a breeze, a moment, a passing dream...
It is awful because it is where we were and where we are NOW.
Looking back we will all be together, the winners, losers,
masters, slaves, rich, poor, sane, insane, twisted, beautiful,
and we will recall an Earth where we once played as children.
A place filled with pleasures, idealistic dreams, misfortunes, and such cruel misery.
But because we laughed and we cried, and tried to reach higher tahn we could,
in the end that is how we learned to fly like the Angels.
Where nothing now remains, cept for a shedded snakeskin ,
a mere carcass of a young world that long ago cast off its no longer useful body.
A new star will shine in a place so bright it will blow your fuckin' mind.
Peace!
Jason

"They're made out of meat."
"Meat?"
"Meat. They're made out of meat."
"Meat?"
"There's no doubt about it. We picked several from different parts of the planet, took them aboard our recon vessels, probed them all the way through. They're completely meat."
"That's impossible. What about the radio signals? The messages to the stars."
"They use the radio waves to talk, but the signals don't come from them. The signals come from machines."
"So who made the machines? That's who we want to contact."
"They made the machines. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Meat made the machines."
"That's ridiculous. How can meat make a machine? You're asking me to believe in sentient meat."
"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. These creatures are the only sentient race in the sector and they're made out of meat."
"Maybe they're like the Orfolei. You know, a carbon-based intelligence that goes through a meat stage."
"Nope. They're born meat and they die meat. We studied them for several of their life spans, which didn't take too long. Do you have any idea the life span of meat?"
"Spare me. Okay, maybe they're only part meat. You know, like the Weddilei. A meat head with an electron plasma brain inside."
"Nope. We thought of that, since they do have meat heads like the Weddilei. But I told you, we probed them. They're meat all the way through."
"No brain?"
"Oh, there is a brain all right. It's just that the brain is made out of meat!"
"So... what does the thinking?"
"You're not understanding, are you? The brain does the thinking. The meat."
"Thinking meat! You're asking me to believe in thinking meat!"
"Yes, thinking meat! Conscious meat! Loving meat. Dreaming meat. The meat is the whole deal! Are you getting the picture?"
"Omigod. You're serious then. They're made out of meat."
"Finally, Yes. They are indeed made out meat. And they've been trying to get in touch with us for almost a hundred of their years."
"So what does the meat have in mind?"
"First it wants to talk to us. Then I imagine it wants to explore the universe, contact other sentients, swap ideas and information. The usual."
"We're supposed to talk to meat?"
"That's the idea. That's the message they're sending out by radio. 'Hello. Anyone out there? Anyone home?' That sort of thing."
"They actually do talk, then. They use words, ideas, concepts?"
"Oh, yes. Except they do it with meat."
"I thought you just told me they used radio."
"They do, but what do you think is on the radio? Meat sounds. You know how when you slap or flap meat it makes a noise? They talk by flapping their meat at each other. They can even sing by squirting air through their meat."
"Omigod. Singing meat. This is altogether too much. So what do you advise?"
"Officially or unofficially?"
"Both."
"Officially, we are required to contact, welcome, and log in any and all sentient races or multibeings in the quadrant, without prejudice, fear, or favor. Unofficially, I advise that we erase the records and forget the whole thing."
"I was hoping you would say that."
"It seems harsh, but there is a limit. Do we really want to make contact with meat?"
"I agree one hundred percent. What's there to say?" `Hello, meat. How's it going?' But will this work? How many planets are we dealing with here?"
"Just one. They can travel to other planets in special meat containers, but they can't live on them. And being meat, they only travel through C space. Which limits them to the speed of light and makes the possibility of their ever making contact pretty slim. Infinitesimal, in fact."
"So we just pretend there's no one home in the universe."
"That's it."
"Cruel. But you said it yourself, who wants to meet meat? And the ones who have been aboard our vessels, the ones you have probed? You're sure they won't remember?"
"They'll be considered crackpots if they do. We went into their heads and smoothed out their meat so that we're just a dream to them."
"A dream to meat! How strangely appropriate, that we should be meat's dream."
"And we can mark this sector unoccupied."
"Good. Agreed, officially and unofficially. Case closed. Any others? Anyone interesting on that side of the galaxy?"
"Yes, a rather shy but sweet hydrogen core cluster intelligence in a class nine star in G445 zone. Was in contact two galactic rotations ago, wants to be friendly again."
"They always come around."
"And why not? Imagine how unbearably, how unutterably cold the universe would be if one were all alone."
