bleepgeeks feat. Dj RAHAAN (Jisco Music/Chicago)

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
The bleepgeeks crew feels very blessed to welcome undergroud disco legend Dj Rahaan from Chicago. As part of the threesome-axis Berlin(love to our fam!), Dresden and Ulm, we managed to get Rahaan to Germany for the first time!
First of all, Rahaan is a dj from Chicago. What makes him so special, is his ability to constantly create a huge amount of energy that is focused on the dance, on creating a dense environment, where the single record becomes much more than one song mixed into another, the music communicates with the dancer and turns the crowd into the center of the party.
But before Rahaan made his presence on the global dance floor, Rahaan was playing his music from his cassette tapes with his dance crew called the Chuck Brothers. He then moved to the state of Wisconsin, whereby he started to grow a serious collection of disco and house records. In 1996 Rahaan moved back to Chicago started hanging out with his old friends, forming the reunion of the Chuck Brothers once again.
Schooled in the inspiring tradition of DJs in Chicago he absorbed the mad creativity of Ron Hardy and the sensitive taste of Frankie Knuckles, he shared a common passion for crazy disco records and the art of djing with similar minded chicago heads like Sadar Bahar and others…
During the 90’s Rahaan was building up his reputation as one of Chicago’s finest Disco/House DJ, playing at a hot club called “The Spot” and the infamous loft parties with Mr.Bill, Pee Wee and friends. This opened the door for Rahaan to perform on guest spots for Sisterz of Vision and Soul In The Hole club nights, followed by a residency “Budda Lounge” – one of Chicago’s best nightclubs.
Rahaan got his start to international fame through his highly praised dj-mixes, made available to the world by bringtheheat, chuckbrothers and deephousepage. In all the mixes he shows his musical diversity – playing around with amazing soulful disco, pulling deep unknown album cuts, making disco classics sound like u never heard `em before, pumping up some jackin house tracks or playing obscure european disco-not-disco. All the time u can hear the passion and originality of „the sounds of Rahaan“ – the real human touch!
On the release front, he recently shared a few of his much appreciated home-made disco edits on labels like Jisco Music, KAT and Stillove4music. Deep in the tradition of the fierce edits a la Ron Hardy – Rahaan makes disco edits sound like jacking house music!
Lately he’s been busy touring the whole world, having literally killed dancefloors in Japan, Australia, Amsterdam, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, England and throughout America, but his journeys never brought him to Germany. This is gonna change!
Our favourite club eden will be heated and the bleepgeeks dj's will warm up things before Rahaan will taker over for extended music pleasures.
Come early, dance longer, it will be happiness!

bleepgeeks feat. Gerd Janson (Running Back Records/Lorsch)
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Gerd Janson is running the German label Running Back together with Thorsten Scheu (aka Glance). As many kids who have grown up in the early 90s in the South West of Germany, Gerd Janson was a regular guest at Mannheim’s legendary Milk Club. Although this venue was most popular for putting jungle on the map in Germany, Gerd always used to wait eagerly for the early morning hours when the pace slowed down and US styled house was the ruling sound. In the following years, his deep love for house and disco music was fed in Frankfurt’s Wild Pitch Club by Heiko MSO and Ata. In 1998, Gerd Janson finally had his first DJ residency at Darmstadt’s Café Kesselhaus.
Gerd Janson has been serving the hottest house and disco cuts at Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson where he has been hosting the Liquid club nights together with DJ heavyweight Thomas Hammann for the past few years. Without a doubt, Gerd Janson is one of the hottest talents on the German DJ circuit. The word has spread, and so he’s travelling a lot as a DJ now. And when not spinning records he’s known as a prolific music journalist writing for Groove magazine or Spex …, or he’s busy working at the Pentagon Recordstore in his hometown Darmstadt and as part of the staff for the Red Bull Music Academy. Recently, he even started doing shitty remixes for acts like Antena or DJ Designer Imposter and released a compilation of weirdo 80ies jams together with Jazzanova on Sonar Kollektiv. Don’t you like that?
Red Bull Music Academy Radio Bio: One of our most treasured Academy team members, Gerd Janson is the quintessential DJ’s DJ, unearthing the gems that get other music lovers hot and excited. The man has his plate full. Whether at the helm of the long-running Liquid club night at Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson with DJ comrade Thomas Hammann, dishing out simmering analog House as co-owner of label Running Back, or penning many a story for Germany’s Spex and Groove magazines, not to mention his scholarship of American studies, he seems to run on more powerful batteries than the rest of us. Enjoy this adventure through magic dance music new & old, with special guest appearance by Kool DJ Pink Alert. It’s risky, but it’ll make you frisky.

Filippo 'Naughty' Moscatello(Moodmusic/Berlin) • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • We finally managed to get Ulm's lost son back to the city from where he started his great career and became an ambassador for Ulm in the whole world. Let's have a quick look at his biography! 2009 signals a new chapter for Berlin based Italian Filippo Moscatello, with his choice to retire his DJ Naughty alias representing a shift back to his techno and house roots after a decade of eclectic electro mischief. Metamorphosis and reinvention are key themes. Equally prolific as remix artist and producer, Filippo has reinvigorated tracks for artists of the calibre of Goldfrapp, Fischerspooner and Kosheen, and many other artist. A flag-bearer for DJ Hell’s genre redefining ‘International Deejay Gigolo’ label in the late 90’s with his release ‘Boing Bumm Tschag’, Filippo cemented his big player status as resident of infamous Berlin club ‘Cookies’ as well as highly coveted DJ at parties for everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Mario Testino. Artist album ‘Disco Volante’ and collaborations with Terranova and The Cosmonauts of Innerspace followed, further distinguishing his place at the helm of the disco charged house aesthetic at the birth of the millennium. Equally prominent in his productions, an intuitive logic maps Filippo’s ascendancy to the forefront of the Berlin soundscape. Sicilian born, his Italo Disco education resonates throughout his releases on seminal labels such as Eskimo and K7!, and reflects in his relationships formed with studio mates and kindred spirits Ewan Pearson and Sasse. His highly acclaimed "Red Hot" EP on Eskimo was also played by John Peel in his Radioshow. His latest transformation has found fertile ground on Sasse’s ‘Moodmusic’ imprint, with last years ‘World EP’ paving the way for a studio album to be released in the winter of this year. These sophisticated house and ultra slick techno productions count as some of Filippo’s finest work yet, which suggests that his decision to send the naughty boy to bed might just be taking the party to the next level. In February 2009 his long awaited second album was released on moodmusic. links: www.myspace.com/berlinmachine www.myspace.com/bleepgeeks www.bleepgeeks.com www.sucasa-club.de Su Casa Am Lederhof 1 89073 Ulm

It feels like Ibiza in 1986!

Friday, 26th of June Schwarzes Schaf Michael Langlois, Martin Schubert and Serdar Dogan (bleepgeeks/ULM)
special guest: Stefan Sieber
Bleepgeeks is your well-not-well known fun society, consisting of music producers, deejays, veejays, photographers, bloggers and artists, all descending from and around Ulm city.
Originally
brought into being by the triumvirate and lifetime friends Martin
Schubert, Michael Langlois and Serdar Dogan as an event series in
New-Ulm many thousand years ago, the supreme objective of bleepgeeks
was to bring a better club culture to Ulm‘s slightly evolving nightlife. ...
From
small wooden backrooms to big "to the max" designed eventfloors,
bleepgeeks residencies took place in various locations, and their
current one is one of the most outstanding places in Ulm. It's an old
and infamous erotic cabaret called "eden", where Martin and friends
shared their passion for music and sophisticated clubbing with
illustrious guests like Marco Passarani, Gerd Janson, Jackmate, Hunee and Dj
Naughty amongst many others. ...
All
the three founding members will show up on this night, playing their
favourite tunes to make an eclectic potpourri of raw jacking house
thrillers, spaghetti fillers from rimini to roma(some of you might know
this as italo), leftfield sleaze, 90's Garage tunes from the New York
era, obscure us import and euro disco, all concocted with new stuff
from todays electronic music circuit for the first bleepgeeks
instalment at Augsburg‘s very own Schaf Klub.
Bleepgeeks
is also very proud to have Stefan Sieber as special guest. Already a
living legend in Augsburg now for years, he is not only the perfect
gentleman behind the decks to serve you the most automatic sounds to
die for, but also the consummate person to have your best hours at the
bar you can experience.

bleepgeeks feat. jackmate (philpot records/Stuttgart)
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Der Stuttgarter Michel Baumann alias Jackmate a.k.a.

Kradhalle

In memory of Paradise Garage
Ok guys, this one will be very special for us. We will pay tribute to two of our most beloved locations on Saturday night. Kradhalle is "THE" place in our hearts and the Paradise Garage(which will be the theme of the night) was one of the biggest inspiration sources for Bernd Karners musical direction. Bernd Karner from the legendary and influental Heimelektro Ulm label is the perfect guy to lead us through the night with pearls from his huge record collection. He is an extraordinary dj and a former ulm visionary, who established and carried Heimelektro Ulm Records in the end of mid nineties till the early years after turn of the millenium. Many artists took their place on the booth in Ulm during this period, ongoing from Hans Nieswandt, Autechre, Move D, Dmx Krew and Monolake to Dj Spooky, Mouse on Mars and many others... He wasn't able to play out at our Marco Passarani date due to sickness but now he is even in more joyful expectation!
And as Bernd Karner said:
"late 70ties to early 90ties: how it all started - a journey from funk/soul and rare grooves to disco, to house and garage - a homage to Larry Levan and the other heroes of the early days..."
We will be happy to welcome you!
