Come join our celebration of the nearing occurrence of the Winter Solstice, which has remained a special moment of the annual cycle of the year since Neolithic times. Over thousands of years humans have recognized the four seasons, marking winter as the stage of shorting days and the preparation for the famine months, which occurred between January to April. Although, unlike today with our access to fresh produce all year round, the mid winter festival was the last feast celebration before deep winter began. It was also the time when the majority of the wine and beer made during the year was finally fermented and ready to drink. Various cultures recognized the occurrence of the shortest day and celebrated the rebirth of the sun and promises of the spring ahead. The astronomical event of the Winter Solstice occurs sometime between December 20th to the 23rd in the northern hemisphere and was not often commenced at midnight or dawn but at the beginning of the previous eve.

On December 19 a collaboration of Art, Music and Soul will celebrate the dance of the sun and the earth marking the occurrence of the shortest day that so many cultures have celebrate throughout the decades.

Slush – The collaboration of different types of music, art and culture to join in and become one in celebration for the promising spring ahead.
