Making brushes from an image is pretty easy actually. Let's get started.

Open up photoshop with an image you would like to make into a brush. I'm going to use this simple heart. Important: The background of the image must be white or you will also get the background the image is on.

Now, look to your toolbar and select the lasso tool (press "L" on your kepboard). Outline your brush such as this:

Once you've finished outlining your image, go to the top menu bar and select: edit > define brush preset.

A window will pop up asking you to verify it. Type in a name if you want and select "ok."

Done! Select the brush tool from your toolbar and you will now see your brush in the list.
