Cosmic American Presents...Katy Moffatt
Singer-songwriter Katy Moffatt is a frequent collaborator with Americana stalwarts Tom Russell and Dave Alvin. She has a clear, bell-like soprano voice and a special knack for putting affecting pop-style hooks into traditional country and folk song forms. In addition to her work as a leader, she has worked often as a harmony singer for everyone from Charlie Louvin to Michael Martin Murphy. From the earliest days of her career, when she went on the road opening for blues legend Muddy Waters, to her current status as one of the most highly respected originators of country rock, Katy Moffatt has distinguished herself as one of the most literate and eclectic artists to fall under the nebulous heading of singer-songwriter.

The Maze presents...Roses Kings Castles
Featuring Adam Ficek, most commonly known to the general public for his day-job as drummer in notorious British rock act Babyshambles.
As a member of the band fronted by Pete Doherty, the most talked- and written-about rock star of our time, Adam has seen the best and worst of life at the casualty-laden core of the music industry. What many people don’t know is that he is a blistering artistic talent in his own right.
Roses Kings Castles is the moniker under which Adam performs and records his own unique catalogue of quixotic, chiming, and blissfully astute acoustic pop songs. Lost somewhere between Belle & Sebastian’s pastoral warmth and the hallucinatory six-string invocations of Syd Barrett, a typical Roses Kings Castles track is buoyed by the finest elements of classic British songwriting; by turns wry, beautiful, and bizarre.
http://www.roseskingscastles.com ..Support: Jake Bugg One of the most amazing talents in Nottingham at the moment. 15 year old Jake is a class act on the guitar and has voice that harks back to the likes of Cat Stevens, Donovan and Don McClean. ..http://www.myspace.com/jakebugg..> Joe Slater - An incredible song-writer and performer. Setting his style in the little known genre of folk-punk, Joe and his guitar take you on a journey of social discontent, emotional confusion and hope for the future. www.myspace.com/joeslater Doors : 8pm

Show of Hands... SOLD OUT
We're sorry to say we've SOLD OUT of SHOW OF HANDS tickets now!!
Show of Hands are undeniably one of the strongest current forces in acoustic music – England’s finest and most popular roots duo and something of a “people’s band”, regularly voicing the hopes, fears and life stories of scores of people in song and with a mailing list more than 17,000 strong.
An alchemist couldn’t have come up with a more potent, magical mix than that of Phil Beer, who can, as The Scotsman observed, “play nearly every stringed instrument known to man” and the inspired Steve Knightley, described by Mike Harding at BBC Radio 2’s 2007 Folk Awards as “one of England’s greatest singer songwriters”. Special Guest appearance from Miranda Sykes Miranda’s rich, spine tingling vocals and strident yet sensitive double bass playing are much in demand and she enjoys working alongside some of the finest musicians in the world. Plus Support from Flossie Malavialle Flossie Malavialle is a French singer who started getting involved in the British folk scene in 2000-2001 while she was on a teacher exchange in the North East of England. “Here’s a sensational performer. She intrigues listeners with her quaint French-Geordie accent and charms them with her stories and ready laughter. Yet it’s her singing that bowls them over. An artist’s artist, a people’s artist, here’s a mammoth talent emphatically radiating that magical X-factor. A veritable show stopper!” Wheaton Aston Festival

Cosmic American presents...Vandeville Falls and The Owen Harvey Trio
‘VANDEVILLE FALLS have a hook laden sound that should be more than capable of filling venues. It's also a sound that could make the band very radio friendly right across Europe and beyond. Uptempo, uplifting, unspoilt.’ FATEA Magazine.
Vandeville Falls are made up of musicians who came together through friendship and happy accident, bringing with them a mix of styles to form the Vandeville sound. They play and write music they love and if others do too then that’s a bonus. Their lyrics have warmth, maturity and depth, combined with a natural storytelling charm, and their ability to come up with a classic pop hook aligns them with those that have been admired most in this industry, in particular the bands own influences, which include Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright, 10,000 Maniacs, The Smiths, Jackson Browne.
.. THE OWEN HARVEY TRIO: "Every now and again someone hands me a CD that makes you want to hear more - OWEN HARVEY is that person and a singer- songwriter who clearly has something VERY special to offer "Cosmic American " .. Doors : 7.30pm
