Hello brave friends,

It is just past mid-November, and as I promised I would in my last communique, I am announcing the release of a special, new limited edition print. Click on the title to jump to store.vinerstudio.com:

NEW LIMITED EDITION PRINT:

Now available at store.vinerstudio.com

Title: A Discerning Youngster
Image size: 14.5" x 22"
Paper size: 16.5" x 24"
Edition size: 100
Paper: Hahnemuhle Photo Rag (460 gsm)
Date of print: November 2008
Price: $150

Each print is covered with three coats of matte varnish, and signed and numbered by Jonathan Viner.

You may have noticed in the detail info above that this print was created using the same methods and standards as all of my prints, but is priced lower than previous prints of similar size.

In response to the uncertain times, and with the holidays just around the corner, I've deemed it appropriate to produce an increased edition size of 100 (compared to the usual 50), with a lower price per print. I hope this is helpful to those of us who feel a need to tighten our belt. As for those of us who don't feel such a need, feel free to order two and give one to a friend. Just a suggestion...

Many thanks to everyone once again for all the feedback and support!

Best,
Viner

The NYC summer was starting to get to us, so we took a quick trip to SF cuz we heard it's chilly in the summer. We figured it was about time we check it out for ourselves, don our hoodies, hop on a trolly, maybe eat some rice-a-roni. You know, just live like the locals do.

In the photo above, Emily is taking in the impressive view from our hotel room window. SF kicks ass!

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel, which was at the same time gaudy and luxurious. Old school, in a good way. It really grew on us, and turned out to be the best part of the trip.

Yeah, it sure was hilly. That got old really fast. Emily was a good sport, posing for this. Though she refused to give me more than one shot.

We ate at the Tonga Room on the last night. There was a band playing on a boat in an indoor lagoon, with simulated rain and lightning. I felt like I was at Emily's Bat Mitzva party or something.

After about three days we started getting homesick for hot and sweaty NYC. So we hopped on a plane, where I passed the time sipping on some airplane wine and doing some drawing. Thank God for sound-isolating earbuds!

*Keep an eye out for this drawing on store.vinerstudio.com

For the love of God, please stop making Obama posters. He's not the messiah. He's just a charismatic, slender, african american politician who has not been in the game long enough to get his hands dirty.

I love politics. I love art. But just like food and sex, it's not a good idea to combine them (who the hell came up with THAT idea???).

Here's a simple rule of thumb: Politics + Art = Propaganda

And propaganda is stupid, PS.

Hey folks,

My new bloggin' buddy Manuel Bello posted a nice li'l blog on www.fecalface.com, about his visit to my studio. It's under the "NEW BLOGS" section, on the upper right section of the page. It's been a while since I checked out fecal face, but I gotta say it's the best art blog around. They really cover lots of great artists I never even heard of. It's chock full of goodness.

**Check out Manuel's studio visit for a sneak peak at a new painting i recently completed. And if you're feeling expressive, leave a glowing comment. Yeah, I'm pretty needy, but it'll earn you my unending love and gratitude.

PS: myspace is being bitchy and isn't letting the fecalface.com link work for some reason, so just copy and paste it.

The subject says it all, but to recap, I have a new, small print available at store.vinerstudio.com. There are also a couple of new drawings still available. Check it!
