Born on a cusp: Gemini-Cancer

Gemini is the third Sign of the Zodiac. Geminis are chatty and social; they love a good, heated argument and thrive on mental stimulation of all kinds. Cancer is the fourth Sign of the Zodiac. Cancers are emotional and traditional, and can tend toward moodiness and sensitivity. Those born on the Gemini/Cancer Cusp display great imagination and tend to be very expressive. They are interested in heredity and ancestors, and this is reflected in their desire to care for relatives and propagate the family line. They love to learn, and their lives are generally centred on the home.
The astrological symbol of Gemini is the Twins. Like twins, Geminis often have a dual nature and are skilled at seeing both sides of a problem. The astrological symbol of Cancer is the Crab. Like the Crab, Cancers go through life with a strong shell around them that is not easily broken. Gemini/Cancers are the first to express emotion in any given situation -- the first to laugh and the first to tears. Gemini/Cancers tend to have many different interests that they study in great detail. Gemini exemplifies the Mutable quality assigned to it by being adaptable and able to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously. Cancer exemplifies the Cardinal quality assigned to it by being strong-willed, persistent and initiating.

Gemini is ruled by the Planet Mercury. In ancient Roman mythology, Mercury (and his Greek equivalent, Hermes) was the messenger god. He was associated with travel and transportation. He was a communicator, quick-witted and inventive. Cancer is ruled by the Moon. In ancient times, the Moon, which represents fertility and instinct, was perceived as the Great Mother, responsible for nurturing all life. The Moon controls the tides and all water on earth, and it has a strong effect on human emotions. Gemini/Cancers tend to be more sensitive to the movement of the Moon, their moods changing with the Moon's passage. Their facility in adapting to new challenges may seem like opportunism, but it is really just a highly intuitive curiosity that leads them to the right people at the right time. Generally domestic and peaceful, Gemini/Cancers often have many friends and acquaintances, and they won't sit still when loved ones are threatened.

The Element associated with Gemini is Air. The Element associated with Cancer is Water. Gemini/Cancers are very intuitive; their broad-minded outlook and capacity for abstract reasoning enable them to make strong contributions to projects. Emotion is a key part of their lives and is checked and balanced with logic and objectivity. Their awareness and intellectual approach to life are refreshing, and their emotional honesty is something to be admired.

Gemini/Cancers have close family ties with their brothers and sisters. They often remain youthful and light-hearted their whole lives. These people have a strong association with food and an eternal willingness to try something new; they often make excellent cooks. Their many interests make them entertaining and stimulating conversationalists who really love people. In their leisure time, Gemini/Cancers enjoy pairing up with a partner for recreation. They often enjoy team sports because of the family feeling a team can provide. Gemini/Cancers are more likely to be ambidextrous than other Signs. Physical exercise and artistic endeavours, written or on canvas, allow them to channel their swirling emotions into productive output. Their love for conversation and food ensures that leisurely dinners with friends are highly enjoyable for them, and their inquisitive and literary orientation means they enjoy mentally challenging pursuits as well.

In love relationships, Gemini/Cancers are caring, flirtatious, playful and romantic. The great strength of the Gemini/Cancer-born is in their blending of intellectual and conversational skills. They have the ability to understand the difficulties their loved ones must work through. Their affectionate nature makes them among the most caring characters of the Zodiac.

THE HORSE

Abstract information about the Horse:
The Horse is a Chinese Horoscope sign that always expects to be free. Horse people are self confident and usually determined enough to succeed on their goals. They like to attract general attention and to be flattered, but they will know if someone really appreciates their skills or not. Another attribute of the Horse is honesty. Horse people are usually honest and genuine with others and can have a lot of friends if they choose so. You should expect to receive good advice from a Horse if you take the time to explain your situation carefully. A Horse can also be brave but at the same time too sensitive. This sensitivity may sometimes trigger their defense mechanisms for no reason.

Duan Minh, the famous Chinese Astrologer, tells us about the Horse:
"..People born in the Year of the Horse are popular. They are cheerful, skillful with money, and perceptive, although they sometimes talk too much. They are wise, talented, good with their hands, and sometimes have a weakness for members of the opposite sex. They are impatient and hot-blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds. They are very independent and rarely listen to advice.."

That's TOO close to even be a coincidence. For the horse, I was born in June. I am of Mexican descent. I like summer. My favorite flower is the Rose. I'm a Gemini/Cancer cusp so that's half of the traditional zodiac equivalent. And for the Gemini/Cancer part, I AM ambidextrous. D: Horse + Twins + Crab = me?

And here's this as well.

The Cusp Of Gemini-Cancer. June 21st To 27th

Persons born at this time need the utmost care in childhood. It will pay the parents to be very vigilant - indeed, this is true of Gemini and Cancer separately - but when these signs blend, there is double reason for the fatherly and motherly eye. Gemini soars and Cancer floats or swims according to fancy. These natives are very self-willed and opinionated, though the best friends and neighbors on earth if left alone. Women born on this cusp are often coquettes and prevaricators. A marital engagement is a sensation, and can be escaped from without compunction. Marriage is held sometimes quite as loosely. They are excessively fond of children, and in case of separation will fight to the death for their custody. The men care so much for pleasure that they often sacrifice home and business to its pursuit. They are bon vivants, excessively fond of show, and possess a magnetic quality that draws everything to them. If they fail in business, they will start in again and become successful. Somebody always comes to the rescue; in the case of a man it is very apt to be a woman who comes forward with the cash, and vice versa. The sensuousness of Gemini and the sensuality of Cancer is a hard combination to master. They are brilliant and usually show to advantage on account of their wonderful magnetism. They are fluent talkers and sometimes great readers, though apt to be superficial. The genius of this cusp is kindliness.

Horse people are said to love travel. They are energetic, intelligent and ambitious. They can also impatient, hotheaded and egotistical. They have a great sense of humor and fall in love easily.

The female horse is often the life of the party although just as happy in their warm, comfortable home. Dignified yet loving of bright, colorful clothes the female horse enjoys working with her hands and creating crafts.

The lady Horse is full of spunk. She is tart and saucy; pert and pretty; nimble on her toes and intelligent. She could be a chatterbox without reprieve, a tennis champion or a Grand Prix driver.

She can do her nails, write a letter, watch TV, talk on the phone and mind the children, all at the same time. Her ideas for relaxing can be taxing. She works off her energy with play that could seem like hart labor to the rest of us. Did anyone mention climbing Mt. Everest? Give her two minutes to pack--she will join the expedition.

The Horse lady loves to get things done. She would be in ten places at the same time if she could. Sometimes, one could swear that she is competing with herself. There isn't anyone else around who can do so much so fast.

Horse girls may look as soft as whipped cream and will usually smell as fresh as lavender, but underneath it all, they have razor-sharp minds that match their agile bodies. She may be the kindly brown-mare type or the firebrand who tosses her hair defiantly against handling, but she'll never lose that talent for assessment. She makes friends easily and will take her romantic involvements lightly. Home is a practical, easy and well-located station where she can refuel and take stock of her situation. But you won't find her parked in one place permanently.

She will love crispness, greenness and outdoor sights and sounds. She refreshes herself in a thousand ways. The ocean's roar, the rustle of the trees, the magic of the woods, the majesty of the mountains, will all call to her sense of adventure. When she takes off, she isn't being unfaithful or unreliable. It's just her nature to respond to such exciting stimuli. If you love her and want to keep her, don't fence her in.

These Horses are clever, witty individuals. They learn the basics about a lot of things and thus have a great breadth of general knowledge. They are young at heart and attractive and enjoy being the center of attention

Cancerian Horses have huge hearts and will spend a lifetime searching for their soul mates. They’d rather find the perfect mate at an old age rather than a mediocre one at a young age.

aaaand I found out that Hime is a Water Dragon.

WATER DRAGON - 1592, 1892, 1952, 2012
A less imperious type of Dragon who favors optimum growth and expansion. He can put aside his ego for the good of all and is less selfish and opinionated. An inhibited but progressive person, he tries hard not to be as conspicuous as other power-hungry Dragons. Neither is he going to be labeled as the conciliatory one. He can assume a wait-and-see attitude and his wits are as formidable as his strength of will.
The Water Dragon lives by the to-thine-own-self-be-true philosophy and will not seek revenge on those who choose to go the opposite way. democratic and liberal-minded, he can accept defeat or rejection without bitterness.
Water is calming and beneficial to his lunar sign and he will know how to act wisely and do what is essential for his progress. He is quick and reliable and is capable of marketing his ideas with untiring devotion. He is likely to be successful as a negotiator, as he knows when, where and how to apply force.
His main drawback is that he may be like an overoptimistic builder who forgets to reinforce the foundation. By trying to hold on to too much he may lose everything. He must learn to make difficult choices and to relinquish whatever is unfeasible or unnecessary. This way, he will be able to devote his energies to fewer but more rewarding endeavors.

Water has a calming effect on the Dragon's fearless temperament. Water allows the Dragon to re-direct its enthusiasm, and makes him more perceptive of others. These Dragons are better equipped to take a step back to re-evaluate a situation because they understand the art of patience and do not desire the spotlight like other Dragons. Therefore, they make smart decisions and are able to see eye-to-eye with other people. However, their actions can go wrong if they do not research or if they do not finish one project before starting another.
