Joe Brooks is a 21 year-old singer/songwriter from Southampton in the UK. Inspired by the melodies of Jack Johnson and the lyrics of Ben Harper, Joe taught himself to play guitar at age 15. Now armed with fierce musical chops and a pitch perfect voice of his own, he has amassed a huge MySpace following and has been the 1 unsigned artist from the UK for the better part of a year. Joe is the first management client through MLS' venture with EMI Music Publishing and is currently working on his debut album for a yet-to-be-determined major label.

We are thrilled to announce some exciting news. MajorLabelScout's own Jason Reeves is signing with Warner Bros. Records.


Jason was submitted in our very first cycle back in September 2005 and charted as the 2 artist that period. We signed him to a prodction deal (as well as management) in the Spring of 2006 and began making his album shortly thereafter. The album debuted at 2 on the iTunes Folk Chart and has been selling consistently ever since. In addition, Jason's plays on MySpace went from 30,000 when we started to over 6 million as of today.


As many of you know, Jason has also emerged as a very successful songwriter, having co-written 10 out of 12 songs on Colbie Caillat's nearly double platinum debut, including multi-format 1 smash "Bubbly" as well as current hit "Realize," on which he also sings. Jason is currently writing songs for other people, including Epic recording artist Lenka. The first song they wrote together, "The Show," will be her first single and is due out next month. Jason Reeves Shares MySpace Number One, Two and Three Positions

Singer-songwriter Jason Reeves has come from nowhere (well, Iowa) to suddenly having his songs reach Number One on MySpace, thanks to his close association with fellow singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat. Reeves writes, plays guitar and sings on many of the tracks that have helped propel Caillat to the Number One unsigned artist position on MySpace. In addition, Caillat's page, Reeves' page and the page the two have together featuring further collaborations, have reached Numbers One, Two and Three, respectively, on the MySpace Top Folk Chart (unsigned).

These are incredible achievements for the 22 year-old Reeves, who left his native Iowa for Los Angeles barely six months ago to pursue his music career full time. His songs of love, hope, heartbreak and renewal have clearly struck a chord with listeners, yet he still remains largely undiscovered…for now. The brand new Reeves/Caillat composition "Realize" has gotten an incredible 200,000 plays, just a few days after being posted. Reeves' own album, "Hearts Are Magnets," is beginning to catch fire, thanks to his increased exposure, which will expand to include an appearance on Last Call With Carson Daly, alongside Caillat, scheduled to air Wednesday, February 7, on NBC.
