Going through the motions full on emotions
the backfires burn in my brain

Ease the pain with lotion just for a magic potion
and worry always comes unrestrained

Off in the backdrop I hear a voice talk
but its only to bring dismay

So then take a walk to you I flock
with words unwanting to say

But within me is a big change one that had rearranged
my body feels out of wack

Part of me shoots -bang- other wants to hang
but spirit is still in tact

Understand me repremand me
so I stay in line

No one can see what it means to me
when you here or not Im fine

Just to let you know its not you i throw
but my minds own typhoons

please hang in there when im not aware
that alter me is in tune

Confused you must be but so am i you see
maybe its time for some pills

I'll keep trying let there be no denying
kick in mind, wheres my will?

Beauty is what they seek
not one can fulfill their lusts
they treat their woman well
but their eyes have another story to tell

when shes not looking his head is turned
when shes away he gawks like all do
when hes with the guys he hits on other women
when shes not around hes on the prowl

so this man gets great respect from his woman
but somethings feels wrong
his friends dont address her with respect
women think less of her
she isnt adored like she is when people arent around...

If your woman or man is a reflection of you
why would you degrade yourself...

for it is what you do behind closed doors, overseas, the other room, or the next zip code that makes a beautiful reflection...even rainbow ends need distance to reflect beauty...


Take a good look at your reflection

Baddest with a brush
brushing my hair
painting the waves
as they stop and stare
all the oils drip into rythmn
time dosent exist only illusions

mind at bliss with just one stroke
entering a time of which i unspoke
drift into clouds of smoke i dont inhale
dreaming of creatures with whimsicle tales

growing in thought as my words portray
bouncing off beat and dragons they slay
needing to paint but no thinner left
feeling like hope has become victim of theft


waiting to unveil the timely truth of my insides
dont know what messege in me it confides

ticking the tock on my computer clock
still no sight of water for fish to dock

silence blankets my canvas of dreams
until i get thinner no way to blow off steam

Growing with the world around me
time seems to slip into oblivion
From finding who I am as a teenager
to becoming molded and purified
from my own impurities to the refining of my soul
learning, teaching, loving, losing, passion ...


At times it felt like there were no words left
No glue to hold and meanings were swept
Found many beautiful souls just not right for me
So close yet not equally yolked is how it would be

When all was left hopeless in this world full of nothing
I turned to the Master and gave up my pride

He knows what I want He knows whats important to me
I gave him my trust and faith because I do not own my own life

Here he was just a poetic thought away
the one God had sent just for me all this time
I was in awe and disbelif that it was true
double takin' ,... but not misplacin' the power of faith
Our minds walked two paths of obstacles
trials, tribulations and here we are

I often wondered why we hadn't met before this appointed time

Then...I came to a realization... He had to go through his struggles and lessons
just as I had to go through my struggles and lessons
...
So that when we met we would have been on a level...
deep enough
weathered enough
strengthened enough
...

To Truly Appreciate Each Other

So I thank you world for putting all the pain and struggles on me... I thank the racism and medocrity the Mid-west had given me as a child, I thank the colleges I spent hundreds of thousands to go through to get to the right location, I thank the men who have shaped me from lessons and mistakes Ive gone through to learn what to do and what not to do, I thank all the friends who have shown their true colors and those who have stuck by my side, I thank the darkness for without it I could not find this precious light.

Im thankful for God's perfect timing, for my path, for Daniel's path, and for ours as we walk on it together in the future.
