WOW!!! What a night! AAPW has received some of the most positive feedback ever from last nights event at New Beginnings Assembly in West Frankfort, IL. AAPW would like to thank all of you that attended and made this event so great.

With freezing temperatures outside, fans packed the New Beginnings Assembly gymnasium for a terrific night of wrestling action.

In the opening bout, "No Mercy" Tommy Mercer returned to AAPW and defeated Christian Rose

In the 2nd match of the evening, "Bad Boy" Chris Thomas picked up a victory over the rookie, A.T. Brooks

Fan favorite Curly defeated Xavier Cage in one of the most entertaining bouts on the card.

Heath Hatton debuted in West Frankfort bringing an entire cheering section. Hatton showed promise as he had a few brief spurts of offense over his much larger opponent, Carnage. However, it was not enough as Carnage gained the pinfall.

"The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt made his return to AAPW and challenged "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich. Wyatt claimed he was the better wrestler and refused to admit defeat to Rich from earlier this year. As Rich approached the ring, he was attacked from behind by Mark Sterling. Wyatt and Sterling unmercifully beat Rich until Mike Sydal hit the ring and came to the aid of Rich. A tag team match was made pitting Sydal and Rich against Wyatt and Sterling. The match was long and brutal. Sydal ended getting the pin on Sterling winning the match for his team but the score between Wyatt and Rich appears to still be unsettled.

AAPW tag team champions The Money Makin' Jam Boys (K.C. Jackson & Mississippi Madman) were originally set to defend against the team of Rage. However, AAPW took the grievences of former champs Old School Thunder (Ax Allwardt & "Thunderbolt" Brandon Walker) and The Convoy into consideration making the match a 4 way elimination match. Half way through the match, both teams of The Convoy and Old School Thunder were counted out as they brawled outside the ring. This left the defending champions and Rage. Rage pulled off a stunning victory to become the new AAPW tag team champions.

The match everyone came to see did not dissapoint as #1 contender Edmund "Livewire" McGuire faced AAPW Champion Shawn Shultz. This match was back and forth with several near falls. In the end, "Livewire" fullfilled his dream defeating Shultz to become AAPW Champion.

Results from the fans choice polls were announced at the beginning of the night:

Debuting wrestler- "Bloody" Harker Dirge
Returning wrestler - "Marevelous" Mitch Ryder
Ryder will face Dirge at Fan's Choice
The Submission Squad will challenge Rage for the AAPW tag team titles
Curly and Shane Rich will face Old School Thunder at Fan's Choice
Edmund "Livewire" McGuire won the poll to face the champion. Since McGuire won the title, he will now face the runner up.......MISSISSIPPI MADMAN

Fan's Choice will be in Nashville, IL. on January 16th 2010

All American Pro Wrestling has recently been contacted by "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt. Wyatt, holder of multiple belts throughout several Mid West promotions in 2009, had a match against "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich for the AAPW title earlier this year. Wyatt is STILL protesting the outcome of that match. For those of you not in attendance, video of the match shows that at the count of 3 Wyatt placed his foot on the bottom rope. The referee did not see it and made the 3 count. Wyatt claims he should have won the match and been AAPW champion. The referees decision stood and Wyatt never received a rematch.

Although Rich is no longer AAPW champion, "The Rebel" feels he has a score to settle and wants to prove he is the better wrestler. Wyatt is challenging Shane Rich to a rematch. Rich, who is scheduled to face the 260 pound Carnage on December 5th in West Frankfort, IL. has accepted Wyatt's challenge. AAPW feels that it's fans deserve to see who is the better wrestler by matching one of our best against arguably the best in the Mid West.

In other news, former AAPW tag team champions, Old School Thunder (Ax Allwardt & "Thunderbolt" Brandon Walker) have expressed their concerns about not receiving a rematch for the tag team titles against the team that took it from them, The Money Makin' Jam Boys. Old School Thunder feel that since they hold a victory over the team of Rage, who challenge for the belts on December 5th, they rightfully deserve the opportunity.

Also, the tag team The Convoy, have complained about not getting a shot at the tag team titles. The Convoy claim they were promised a shot at the titles when they signed with AAPW over 3 years ago but have yet to receive it.

AAPW will be taking the complaints of The Convoy and Old School Thunder into serious consideration. As of now, Rage is next in line and WILL challenge for the belts on December 5th.

Saturday December 5th at 7pm at New Beginnings Assembly (1011 E. 6th st) in West Frankfort, IL., #1 contender Edmund "Livewire" McGuire gets his long awaited opportunity to become the AAPW Heavyweight Champion. McGuire will face AAPW Shawn Shultz in the Main event. Shultz has held the title since May 9th of this year when he won it from "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich. A match in which McGuire was a special 2nd referee and actually made the 3 count to crown Shultz the Champion. McGuire has been AAPW's most popular wrestler since our inception. McGuire has had 2 previous opportunities at the AAPW title but came up short. Will the 3rd time be a charm? Not if Shultz has anything to say about it!

In other action, the team of RAGE (Mike Masters & Mitch Blake) get a rematch for the AAPW tag team titles against Champions, The Money Makin' Jam Boys (K.C. Jackson & the 459 lb Mississippi Madman). The champs have fended off both the team of Rage and former Champions, Old School Thunder, for most of 2009. The Jam Boys look to head into 2010 as Champions but Rage may have their number.

For the first time ever in AAPW, a match up that could be called Beauty and The Beast as "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich squares off in a one on one match up against the 260 pound masked monster Carnage. If there ever was a conflict of styles, this is it as Rich, the fast paced high flyer hopes to keep the slower paced, methodical power wrestler off his game.

Tommy Mercer, a 6'4" 260 pounder that appears to be cut from granite, will once again be in action as he is scheduled to take on IWAP Champion Christian Rose. Rose will definitely have his hands full.

"Playboy" Paul Rose will be in action against the extremely popular Curly.

Heath Hatton makes his pro wrestling debut in West Frankfort.

Also on the card, The Convoy, "Bad Boy" Chris Thomas, Xavier Cage, Brookln Bobby, Old School Thunder, and others!

Don't miss a night of great wrestling action!!!

Tickets $10 adults, $6 children 12 and under. For advance ticket information, please send a private message here on myspace or contact us at allamericanprowrestling@yahoo.com

We regret to inform our fans that our event scheduled for November 14th in Mt. Vernon, IL. at Powerhouse Athletics is cancelled. I received a telephone call from the owner's husband, stating he was half owner of Powerhouse Athletics. He was very upset and stated he wanted out of it. He stated his wife booked the event without consulting with him. He then stated he did not want wrestling and "those kind of people" at Powerhouse Athletics. It is unsure if he was referring to the wrestlers, fans, or both. He also stated that he did not want to have the volunteers spending their time on a fundraiser they believed would not make them much money. I informed him that his club would get out of it what he and it's members put into it. He then stated he would not reimburse AAPW for the advertising expenses of the fundraising event already incurred by AAPW by stating "What are you going to do about it?!"

AAPW would like to state that Jennifer Melton, owner of Powerhouse Athletics, and her staff were a pleasure to do business with at our May 9th event and were just as pleasant this time around. However, it seems her husband has a very low opinion of professional wrestling, wrestlers, and it's fans in general and chose to voice his opinions in a very rude and unprofessional manner. AAPW has and will continue to provide good quality, family friendly professional wrestling suitable for all ages. We also will continue to help charities, schools, clubs, and organizations raise money. We realize that professional wrestling may not be everybody's idea of entertainment. We only wish to provide children and adults alike a place to lose themselves for a few hours and be entertained without the conduct and language found in mainstream pro wrestling. Although several members of the AAPW roster travel extensively and are working hard to wrestle for a living, most have steady jobs and families and should not be considered beneath others. Same goes for our fans and wrestling fans in general.

I apologize to our fans in the Mt. Vernon area who may have been looking forward to our return. We will attempt to find a new venue in that area in order to bring AAPW back. Thank you for supporting us.

All American Pro Wrestling celebrated our 3rd birthday at New Beginnings Assembly in West Frankfort, IL. with an 8 man tournament to determine a new #1 contender for Shawn Shultz's heavyweight title. The winner will face Shultz on Saturday December 5th in West Frankfort.

Round 1:

"Playboy" Paul Rose stunned the AAPW fans by defeating the odds on favorite, "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich with a Dominator Slam.

Chocolate Thunder got the upperhand on Mike Masters early in their match. Masters became frustrated and exited the ring. Thunder made the mistake of going out of the ring to bring Masters back in. Once back in the ring, Masters used his years of experience and ring savvy to take control of the match and get a quick pin over his opponent.

Christian Rose and Curly had a very evenly contested first round match. Rose, the newly crowned IWAP Heavyweight Champion, was determined to make his mark in AAPW by advancing to the finals. Christian's manager for this bout, Brooklyn Bobby, made his presence known several times throughout the match. However, Curly brought his own manager, Baby D.  Baby D chased Brooklyn Bobby from ringside which distracted Rose. Curly took advantage of the distraction by rolling him up for the pinfall.

In a rematch from August, Carnage took advantage of his opponent, Edmund "Livewire" McGuire, early. Carnage mauled McGuire for the first 2 minutes of the match up believing he had the match in hand. Carnage took his opponent too lightly as McGuire was able to muster up a series of pinfall attempts eventually securing a 3 count with an inside cradle.

Fans were treated to 2 tag team matches between tournament bouts.
The first tag team match featured several newcomers to AAPW, Matt Cage & Neil "Diamond" Cutter V. The Hooligans. The match was very fast paced and hard hitting. The Hooligans gained the victory with a double team move that can only be described as a wheelbarrel DDT. DEVASTATING!

Round 2:

"Playboy" Paul Rose squared off against Edmund "Livewire" McGuire. Rose appeared to injure McGuire's leg and unmercifully tortured it throughout the match. "Livewire" fought with great heart and determination and appeared to get some offense going. Rose placed McGuire on the top turnbuckle, which turned out to be his downfall as McGuire fought off his larger opponent and jumped off the top catching Rose with a tornado DDT in mid air and gaining the victory!

Mike Masters pulled out all the stops in his next match against Curly. Frustrated by Curly's unorthodox style, Masters resorted to choking Curly several times in the match. Curly would not quit as he slammed Masters to the canvas and delivered his patented elbow drop for the win. However, Masters was close enough to the rope to place his foot on the bottom rope and stop the count. Shortly thereafter, Masters surprisingly lifted Curly onto his shoulders and delivered a Death Valley Driver and secured a pinfall.

The 2nd tag team match of the night pitted the team of Team Triple X (Joey O'Riley & Jay Spade) with "Ladies Man" Jake against the team of Ax Allwardt, Damien Thorne, and El Magnifico in a 6 man tag team bout. Magnifico, a fan favorite, did not seem to get along well with his teammates during the match as Allwardt and Thorne appeared to avoid tagging him into the match. Although out sized, the team of Jake and Triple X used speed, double teaming, and quick tags to frustrated their larger opponents. Jake was isolated from his teammates and took the brunt of punishment from Allwardt and Thorne. El Magnifico was fianlly tagged into the match and demonstrated a short burst of offense before tagging out and allowing Jake to make a quick tag to Jay Spade. All 6 men ended up in the ring but it was the team of Triple X and Jake that were able to work cohesivley for the win. After the match, it appeared Thorne and Allwardt blamed El Magnifico for their defeat and attacked the Luchador. Triple X and Jake came to his aid.

FINALS:

A fresh and confident Mike Masters entered the ring proclaiming he would be the next AAPW heavyweight champion. Edmund "Livewire" McGuire had the fans concerned as he limped to the ring on his injured leg. Masters was like a shark to blood as he immediately went after and exposed "Livewire's" injury. Livewire fought hard but appeared he did not have enough in him to defeat Masters as he could hardly get to his feet throughout the match. Masters delivered a Death Valley Driver to McGuire and appeared to be the new #1 contender. McGuire kicked out before the count of 3! Masters was in disbelief and argued the count with the referee. As Masters turned around, McGuire willed himself to his feet and delivered a superkick that hit Masters on the button. Edmund "Livewire" McGuire became the NEW #1 CONTENDER and will face Shawn Shultz for the title on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at New Beginnings Assembly in West Frankfort, IL. at 7:00 PM!!!

AAPW has just been informed that Steven Davis is scheduled to have neck surgery in early November. Davis has had a nagging injury that has gotten progressively worse. Davis will be out of action for approximately 6 to 18 months. AAPW wishes Davis a speedy recovery.

Davis' replacement in the upcoming #1 contender tournament in West Frankfort, IL. will be announced soon.

AAPW has determined that Chocolate Thunder will be awarded the tournament spot now left vacant by Steven Davis. Chocolate Thunder had an impressive showing against "Playboy" Paul Rose in Nashville, IL. on 10/3/09, who is also in the tournament. These two may possibly meet again.
Sunday, October 04, 2009
"Da Bomb" Brian James remained undefeated in singles competition in AAPW by defeating rookie Xavier Cage in the opener.

Travis Sawyer, son of the legendary Buzz Sawyer, had his hands full with newcomer Tommy Mercer. Mercer, who stands 6'4" and 260 lbs and appears to be chiseled from granite, gave Sawyer all he could handle and more. Mercer scored an impressive victory with his AAPW debut.

Joey O'Riley faced Carnage in the 3rd match. O"Riley had a few bright spots in the match, however, Carnage's over 100 pound size advantage was too much for O'Riley as Carnage defeated him with a neckbreaker in a matter of minutes.

Sean Vincent made his long awaited debut in AAPW to face fan favorite, Edmund "Livewire" McGuire. Vincent showed good technical skills but Livewire gained the upperhand quickly. "Bad Boy" Chris Thomas charged the ring and attacked Livewire. Both Thomas and Vincent double teamed Livewire until "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich appeared to even the match up. The match was now made into a tag team match. After a few minutes of explosive offense by the team of Rich and McGuire, Thomas and Vincent were able to isolate Rich from his corner and gain the advantage. Rich fought bravely but was not able to overcome the quick tags and double team tactics of his opponents. Rich was finally able to tag his partner and all four men ended up in the ring battling one another. Livewire was perched on the top turnbuckle preparing to deliver his signature leg drop onto Chris Thomas. However, Rich delivered a drop kick to Vincent, forcing him into the ropes which led to Livewire losing his balance and falling to the canvas. Thomas took advantage of the situation and pinned McGuire, putting his feet on the ropes for leverage.
After the match, Rich and Livewire exchanged harsh words in the ring. Livewire exited the ringside area disgusted as Rich continued to apologize and explain the situation.

Chocolate Thunder took on "Playboy" Paul Rose in what many fans believed was the most entertaining of the evening. The match was very evenly contested as both competitors went back and forth with neither gaining the distinct advantage. "Playboy's" frustration got the better of him and he kicked Chocolate Thunder in the groin getting disqualified.

AAPW's newest fan favorite, Curly, received a golden opportunity as he faced AAPW heavyweight champion, Shawn Shultz for the title. Curly's unorthodox style frustrated the champ early in the match as he was made to look very foolish on several occasions. Shultz seemed to have enough of the silliness and attempted to give Curly a wrestling clinic. Curly, proved he has what it takes to be in the ring with the champion as he out muscled the champion on several occasions. Shultz's manager, Tony Luccasio appeared to be the X factor in the match as he distracted Curly late in the match giving Shultz and opening to deliver a DDT for the win.

The Money Makin' Jam Boys (K.C. Jackson & Mississippi Madman) lost the AAPW tag team titles in Dundas, IL. at an IWAP event on Friday 10/2/09 and were determined to get them back. The new champions, Old School Thunder (Ax Allwardt & "Thunderolt" Brandon Walker), entered the rings wearing the tag team titles to the surprize of most fans as the title change had not yet been announced either here or on the IWAP site. The match was closely contested with several near falls. Jackson electrified the crowd with his high flying offense throughout the match. As Jackson had Walker pinned, Allwardt struck Jackson on the back of the head with one of the title belts and rolled Walker on top of Jackson. Jackson was able to kick out at the last second! Madman entered the ring to aid his partner and began to impose his will on both opponents. Madman delivered a vicious spear to Allwardt allowing Jackson to come off the top turnbuckle for the pin and The Jam Boys regained their titles!
