There is no poetry in
this:....
....
Do androids dream of
electric sheep ? has come to an end.....
....
Yet against the trend
of proclaiming the heroic
« fucking death » of a band, we would like to address one more time
what the group was about, and highlight the reasons of its existence, which
eventually led to this :....
....
As Dadoes? The goal was always to get to an
alternative, in thinking, being, creating, but most of all living. A sort of
escapism from our daily lives, from the tragedies of the lived prosperity in
the welfare state. The immediate answer was our music which allowed us to tour,
i.e. leave home and the comfort zone. ....
(Anyone having
witnessed us on tour, or any tour, will know that the above mentioned is in
no-sense a means of glorification, but a simple fact.)....
....
This music, that tried
to avoid trends, taste, genre and prevailing directions was certainly not easy
to grasp and maybe hardly comprehensible, but was aiming at being the pure
expression of a state of mind, in brute honesty.....
....
These tours, opened
the doors to the homes and hearts of many people across the globe we can today
proudly call “our friends”. Not seeing them again with this band will probably
be the hardest.....
We do hope that these
ideas can transcendent to younger bands.....
....
We wrote a last EP,
“suburban malaise spectacle”, which tries to summarize the emotional state
leading to the music, a sort of auto-portrait, of individuals, a nation and so
forth. The creation of this EP was en extreme endeavor for us, in the sense
that the creation of the songs demanded to compress our individualities into a
synthesized shape or form. Inside the band, the appreciation of the quality of
these songs has become a highly
subjective matter. Its sonic quality is generally accepted as being a disaster.
....
....
Yet is less the EP
then the diverging course of our lives as 4 individuals, that makes it
impossible to keep up the pace of playing music and touring as we did before.....
Thus, without this
critical mass of playing and touring, DADOES? is unimaginable, and, rather then
letting it rot on a deadly cancer, we prefer to clearly end the band’s
existence. ....
....
Here, now.....
....
We are grateful to all
those people that have supported us over the years, in Luxembourg and abroad,
the bands we loved to play with, people organizing shows and tours.....
We still cherish these
special moments we lived during certain concerts with you, and we always will.....
....
Thank you.....

Current mood: geeky
Dear revolutionaries,
First things first.
New year, new hopes, new goals...same st/u/a/ff.. After reducing our gigs for the past months, we've been able to focus on new stuff. We've also had the chance to find ourselves in this new constellation as we decided to continue our musical journey as a four piece combo. Almost 2 years of performing Snapshot Lamento, Line-up changes(Petrit joined after the recording, Andrea was not really implemented in the process of creation for the whole songs) and the leaving of our beloved Petz on the six-string made us drifting. Also, all of us are working class people now, which naturally affects your state of mind and schedule. Nevertheless, we've been able to cope with all that stuff, we grew together once more.
In other words..
This coalescence lead to a new approach to our music, to ourselves as Androids. This approach has produced new songs. Those new songs are leading to an EP. That EP will lead us to the stage.
We will slowly but constantly increase our shows. Gigs are in preparation or confirmation. The songs are being shaped and rehearsed, and more new songs are surely following... Right now we're getting ready for recording, the concept for the EP is set up.
Finally....
We'd like to thank all the people who still stand behind us and believe in what we do or stand for. A special thanks goes out to Petrit's bro - Joey - who helped us out on the second guitar for the last 7 months. We've had great times and laughs with you. Check out his band on myspace, it's named Miles To Perdition. There are a few surprises ahead, so stay tuned.
Take care, Petrit D.A.D.O.E.S

Current mood: confident
Memory Lane, 2 Weeks ago:
Endzweck checked in for their flight back to Japan, we were on the way back home. This is always one of the most melancholic moments, also if your longing for your bed, for your friends and family...NOW you know that the tour is over and 'The Real World' is waiting for you. But all this memories are priceless, so thanks to all of you showing up at our gigs and made this memories unforgettable. Thanks to all our friends we've met on our way, all the people we've got in touch with, special thanks to Spike/Kuato for putting us and Endzweck on the Ieperfest '08(this year was RAW) and thanks to Endzweck who made a long way to share this adventure with us!! Kuretteru!!!
Memory Lane, future times:
Thanks to Philipe, who made an incredible work, we now possess a nice and cozy studio in our practice room. This is the way for the next months. We will reduce our gigs to gain time and space for writing new stuff. We, as a band, but also as individuals, feel the need to cope with all those moments we've spent on the road an besides since the recording of 'Snapshot Lamento'.We're all highly motivated, so be prepared for the next attack....

"we are the metro : we have always been honest to music . we are not controlled by any sort of "fashion" trust us , we are not chasing the generic trends. we respect all the musicians that are independent. we hate the corporate orientated music. we wanna meke everyone happy through music. we love people who listens to music honestly. we know what the "great music" really means. " this is what the business card I just exchanged reads on its back. it's 16:30 , it's around 30 degrees outside , it's humid , and under us lies shibuya and approximately 2 million transiters buzzling around. I'm at the 25th floor of cerulean tower where I just got visit from Fumi and one of his colleagues from S.T.M.. STM is the distribution company that got interested in DADOES? and took the Snapshot lamento to Japan for distribution . (www.stm.to) despite the communication problems that might occur there seems to be a deep sense of understanding though... and while the air conditioning does everything it can to cool down the room...I receive this card ...that makes everything clear... all I wanted to explain them what DADOES? was supposed to be about...was formulated in 5 ines on the back of a business card , in plain , simple but honest words... as I leave Fumi and his friend at the station to go on to find a concert venue , a feeling of ease and comfort comes up ...maybe even of hope, if there are people on the other side of the planet that can completely understand what you're doing and why...and how...without having to express it explicitly in language , I say to myself that what we're doing can not be so wrong... it's 21:00 after an hour running around in the hills of shibuya I finally found the venue that endzweck will play their gig in... they were supposed to be on at 20:00 ..so I prepare myself for a big disappointment.. I go down the stairs to the scene...and ask around if endzweck has already played...when suddenly a girl says to me "endzweck : next!" impatiently I watch them mount their gear.. I observe closely...these are the guys I am going to spend 2 intimate weeks on tour with... then the show starts...or so I think...the bass plays a slow meleody ...a sad tune underlined by a doomy drum rythm....guitar feedback comes up...the lights flash..: it's on! stagedives , jumping guitar players , a clapping audience ... the room is packed , packed with smiling people flying through the air ...a smiling band giving their best.. it has been long since I have last felt such a positive vibe at a show... and once again...the seriousness and honesty still got their grip on the whole... amazing set! after the show I meet up with the band at the merch store ...talking about recording , touring , concerts and scenes in europe ...about vans and amps... about mentality ...and ideology... it's about 1 in the morning.. I take a shower and i smile.. I smile because I found people I could totally connect with... I smile because I know it is going to be an amazing summer tour! check out endzweck!!

Some opinions....
DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP unbedingt antesten (powermetal.de)
(getaddicted.org)
…Whining, screaming, shouting, speaking – the screamo-range is covered quite well on here, and most of the time, all different styles are happening within one song. That sounds weird, but only fits to the music. From melodic, calm passages, to twisted blastbeats, almost metallic moshpars, calm rock, and that evertumbling screamo-style, you have a lot to discover on here. All is connected quite hectic and with not much room to catch breath…

"auschwitz begins where people look at a slaughterhouse and say it’s only animals" Theodore W. Adorno Guillermo Vargas Habacuc is a Costa Rican who claims to be artist. The past month of August he made a exhibition in a gallery of Managua (Nicaragua), hunted a street dog, tied it with one short cord to one of the walls of the gallery and let it die of hunger and thirst. According to him, that act of cowardly sadism is art. Now this torturador has been invited to participate in 2008 in the prestigious Central American Biennial of Honduras. There is an international campaign to collet signatures to request that this invitation is retired. You can sign in at www. petitiononline. com/13031953/ and, please, forward the message to all your well-known ones. Thank you!

Category: News and Politics
last night we were supposed to play at the eat your feet festival in Dudelange.Due to the great intervention by our friends from the police , the show got cancelled at the moment we were about to put all our gear up , by putting on pressure (actually threatening the organizers and the owner of the bar ) how can it be that 2 policemen , 2 appaerently brainless executers, can decide of what you can and what you can’t do ( because , just in case you forgot it , it’s (still)legal to play until 01.00 without special permission ...and yes , t he bar in front had a permission too go on ’til 03.00, so , in the end , it wouldn’t have mattered a bit) either way , the reason we post this blog is to let you know that we are very sorry for the few of you that came to see us , as it was the last show before tour and also one of the few gigs ( I actually think one of the only ones ) we’d play in Luxembourg. I think we’ll try our best to make it up to you one of these days...as far as the schedule allows it. the second thing is , that what happened yesterday , this little incident , is only one of several comparable , and is to be seen not only as a bummer for the night , but rather as an indicator on the course this country is taking : it is heading towards a statecontrolled society , in which the executive power gains more and more weight and power , ranging far over their (mental) capacities. "subcultures" like ours , that for many of us are one of the last resorts , the only way of expressing the everyday malaise... are today normed and forced into conformity : it is no fiction to think of Luxembourg as a place where "alternative" concerts will only be accepted in standardized non-places like the Kufa and the Rockhal; Spectators on a incommodo / commodo normed floor , band on a fifteen foot high stage. it is the end of the little that was left ... we ( nads) are reduced to the lapdogs and our only freedom of expression and acting is defined by the length of the leash legislative and executive powers have got us on. we(dadoes?) think indeed that people of the "scene" have to become dangerous to these powers again , in that sense that they question all their acts and oppose some of their decisions.the beginning. maybe we’ll come back from tour with some developed concepts and inspirations. until then be dangerous!! DADOES?

in a "Debordian" way of things to come ; of being , of possession and of appearance , do androids dream of electric sheep? will now officially enter the "spectacle sphere" by releasing their first video to renaissance, an outtake of the snapshot lamento album. it is a first experience withe the medium and the art of videoclipping , to which we still feel very alien. hopelessly lost in this new and strange world , without a plan , nor a concept , the main(only) idea was to produce a counterweight, in any way, to the "sex drugs and rock'n'roll" attitude represented by o-so many bands and corporate institutions. we decided to replace this descriptif slogan by introducing the semiological notion of "pyro, propaganda and punk rock!" (note the "!" , that is in this case elemental) Tech specs.: the video sequences have been shot on a lousy DVcam a month ago in our rehearsal space in front of a white screen. editing and compositing (and editing again) has been done on various programs. the illustrations are taken from the book "supply and demand" by S.Fairey. DIY or die !
