The Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA) -- the organization whose mission it is to attract movie productions to the Lone Star State, by legislative and other means -- is holding an all-industry holiday party Thursday night at Gilley's in Dallas.
Headlining the musical portion of the evening will be Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters, along with J.D. Andrew. Backing up Billy Bob and the boys will be Somebody's Darling.
There'll be a silent auction on the evening's agenda with items contributed by BWC Photo Lab, the Adolphus Hotel, Chef's Gallery at the International Culinary School, Cliff's Resort at Possum Kingdom, The Dallas Film Society, Hector's on Henderson, Hotel Palomar, Hjalmquist, KD Studio, Live Oak Film Management, Lynne Moon, SkyReel Productions, TAF/TP, and the USA Film Festival. All auction proceeds benefit the initiatives of the TXMPA.
The evening at Gilley's features free parking, a cash bar, music and dancing, billiards (aka pool), and bull riding (mechanical variety).
Tickets are $10 online (go here to purchase) or $15 at the door (cash or check only, please). The festivities commence at 7 p.m. and the carousing is scheduled to continue 'til midnight.
Since you're hopping into the pickup to tool on down to Gilley's anyway, help out the North Texas Food Bank by bringing along two nonperishable food items for a donation. The Gilley's folks will be glad to pass 'em along.
Co-sponsors of the event include The Dallas Film Society, Dallas Producers Association, and a long list of others.
