50YFN is a very cool concept in Flash Fiction, a website where all stories exist in a consistent shared universe, that of our own planet, 50 Years From Now.
I urge you to visit it.
Anyway, my first piece there went live about ten minutes ago. It is called:
"The Man Who Couldn't Look You In The Eye"
(And in case you aren't certain whether you want to be reading it or not, I should mention that it has, you know, kinda sex in it.)

Saturday was my turn to post to Elephant Words. I went with a piece giving advice on saying goodbye to your platonic girlfriend.
One day, your best loved friend, the girl that your mates always rib you about, your perfect platonic chum, is going to want to leave... it has potential to be devastating, but it doesn't have to be. Here are five easy steps to help you let her go.
It is full of advice for tragic men of all ages, and was inspired by this week's picture:

Hope you enjoy it!
(I know it's late, but I'm about to have a play with the graphics tablet that a friend lended me today. Oh yayus, I'ma gonna be an artist!)

This is the first bit of Elephant Words inspired art I've done, and as such is my first ever piece of fan art, I reckon. I'm quite pleased with it. Click on the image to get a better look at it, because it looks a lot better before being resized for this site.

Although I suppose I SHOULD call it Friend-Art! It is by my friend and associate Andrew Cheverton, it is of a character from my story "Forest Of The Dead", and I love it!

Those of you who know, know that Andy is a great writer, and an extremely versatile and cool artist. You should certainly check out his writing over at Elephant Words.

My girl just started reading the final Harry Potter book. She has decided to take her time and really enjoy it, but I suspect that excitement and the threat of spoilers from idiots will force her to consume it quickly.
For anyone who might be interested, from a scientific or just curious perspective, I'm going to endeavour to track her emotional state and progress through the book using my Twitter account… look in Digital Breadcrumbs on the right hand side of www.nixsight.net. I promise you now, no spoilers… if there's a moment where she starts crying uncontrollably or something, I won't tell you whereabouts in the book it happens.

Elephant Words is a new website that features six fresh and inventive writers interpreting and being inspired by one new image every week. New writing will be posted every day from Monday to Saturday, and there are no limits on the styles or genres that the contributors can use, so it will be worth visiting regularly to see what they have come up with! To start reading go here: http://elephantwords.co.ukTo find out more about the Elephant Words project, go here: http://elephantwords.co.uk/about/And to start giving feedback (which we would love to hear) go here: http://elephantwords.co.uk/forum/The first wave of six contributors are: Nicolas Papaconstantinou (okay, me...) Andrew Cheverton (of Angrycandy.co.uk, and the West mini-comics) Josh Hechinger (The Engine's own) Douglas Noble ( strip-for-me.com) Xander Bennett (Who I think is also an Engine regular) and Rol Hirst ( rolhirst.blogspot.com) All of the contributors are enthused about working on the project, and some weeks, they will be worked pretty hard, so please go along and offer them your support. First week of writing up already, a new image goes up tomorrow!

Okay, so maybe it's time that I actually started putting this blog are to good use, if for no other purpose than promoting things I like on MySpace, and nudging people in the direction of my own website updates (something I'll probably still put in the bulletins, anyway).
So, main point of post: I've just created a new category area on my website called Broken Narratives, which is all about the unfinished bits of writing that I've probably forgotten what I intended to do with, but I still think have some merit. Click Broken Narratives above, or use this address to get there: http://nixsight.net/?cat=26.
Thankyou, MySpace. Youse are all beautiful, yo.

What seems like about twenty minutes after my first blog post here, (but was actually nearer to a month) my relationship drastically broke down, and I lost some friends (who, to be fair, I could probably have done without in the first place)... so no posting.
I gave up the idea of a home web-server, at roughly the same time that I realised that, okay, Linux might be the dog's bollocks, but I'm not capable of seeing the practical use of canine genitalia at my current level of experience.
So I ended up just getting a new host, and now have a new website, with full wordpress action going on... it's at www.nixsight.net, if you're interested. And you should be. I'm a fucking genius.
Heh, well, genius like a dope, anyway.
