Hey, Kids!
Many people often write us and ask who produces The Lusties, so I thought I would just post the info here for you. I don't want to brag, because I tend to be a little biased when it comes to the staff at Odd Order, but I encourage you, if you are interested in excellent production and extra-ordinary attention to detail, to check out the following links:

Deliciously tuneful sleaze-punk reeking of C.B.G.B. circa '76 without sounding the least bit dated, the Lusties are a Chicago quintet led by bold and brassy former Austinite Edie Lustie--in the great Ramones tradition, the musicians have all take "Lustie" as their last name--dedicated to both tickling and titillating listeners while relentlessly pummeling them old-school-style a la the Ramones, X and the earliest Blondie.

The group is as likely to pay homage to a marital aid, an illicit young love or a B-grade horror flick--as on "RubberMade," "Hi Skool Luv" and "Zombies," respectively--as it is to deliver a startlingly powerful, moving and once again relevant cover of the'50s hit "Soldier Boy," which betrays the sort of mile-wide emotional streak that every true punk hides beneath his or her leather jacket. To date, the group has two self-released EPs available, but I for one am eager to hear more.

You can sample the Lusties' sound at www.myspace.com/thelusties, or better yet, catch them in all their grungy glory as they provide the soundtrack for the Varietease Cabaret at the Lakeshore Theatre, 3175 N. Broadway, on Aug. 9 and take the stage at Reggie's, 2109 S. State, on Aug. 29.

We have finally posted, "Soldier Boy" on our myspace page. It is a cover of the 1962 hit by The Shirelles.

This track was produced and engineered at Chicago’s Rax Trax Studios by award winning audio guru extrordinaire, Mark "Max Level" Blewett.

Unlike our other songs, it is not available for download, and here’s why:

Have You Seen My Hero, the CD on which the song,"Soldier Boy" will appear, is a benefit compilation CD of war-time songs covered by modern, independent musicians. 100% of the proceeds of Have You Seen My Hero will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which is a fund which has given over 60 million dollars in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to the United States of America, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public, and hundreds of thousands of individuals have contributed to the Fund. 100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund’s Trustees.
Find them at www. fallenheroesfund. org.
The idea for the CD came from producer Scott Anderson’s desire to do something about the current geopolitical situation, and from the understanding that a "yes" is heard louder than a "no".
