The band and I are insanely excited to have our album Songs of the Harvest reviewed by a publication as prestigious as Music Connection MagazineIf you have heard our album, I think one would concur that Music Connection gave us a very fair shake... and highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses of the album which, to their credit, are completely in line with our own post-release feelings about the album.

If you have not heard our album, you can order it off CDBaby.com ~ as soon as they restock :) ~... or pick it up on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody... or pretty much any of the other digital services. Or you can straight up GANK it for pennies per song from a bunch of overseas servers. However you do it, give it a listen... it's why we made the damn thing. If you don't go rushing out to get it, don't sweat it as in the near future (with the revamping of our website at experiencekef.com) we are going to have the FULL ALBUM streaming for all you lovely people to check out at your convenience.

Also, while we're disseminating positive news pertaining to our band... we are proud an pumped to announce our new monthly residency at Fishtown staple Murph's Bar. Experience Kef will be throwing down at Murph's to the best of our abilities every SECOND SATURDAY of every month beginning in April and extending into the future indefinitely. This could not come at a more opportune time for the band as we continue to experiment with new material and format. Since releasing Songs of the Harvest... and sitting around collectively saying "Now What?"... every single member of the band has begun to pen new tunes with Ptah Gabrie (bass) finding a opiate like addiction to the vacated kit, and Alex Styer (trumpet, percussion, vocals) sliding stealthily onto the bass.  We've been building momentum behind the scenes for several months, and cannot wait to bring our new music and show (which is going to routinely feature special guests jumping on with the band) back to Philly stages where it belongs.

KEEP ON ROCKING US GOOD PEOPLE.

love, christopher jankoski

What happens when a carpenter, graphics designer, a sound dude and a salesman get together? Well I don't really know, but I can say proudly that we have a new spot to make music. The Bomb Shelter, or Red-Room, or Masons Basement...what ev's...is our new East Falls/L-Cast outpost. It's a place where music is free to be whomever it wants. If you like to jam, drop us a line, and maybe we can get together and make something beautiful.  Last night D-Sharp himself made a guest appearance, and threw down some rhymes over some fresh "Juice Pic" beats. You can hear an excerpt from last nights sesh right here. A grand opening is in the making, and will definitely go down in L-Cast history. I know it's been a while, but I promise we are making new music. In fact, the four of us have each contributed a new song, (that equals 4) and we hope to put together a set for ya'll in the near future. We'll keep you posted as to when our next show is. Thanks for sticking with us, we can't wait to see all your pretty faces.--PG

We would like to thank all of our awesome fans for sticking with us through all the good and bad times. For your listening enjoyment, we have posted two tracks from our final show at Milkboy on Halloween. Yes, what better way to end an era than two coffees and a triple shot of espresso deep. I didn't fall asleep until 2am. Madness!!! The fact is, we still want to play music, no scratch that.....we will continue playing music. Right now is a period of transition, and I don't think any of us knows what is at the end of this tunnel, but I can assure you the music hasn't stopped. We are all lovers of this art, and it is an intricate part of our lives. The planets are aligning once again, and something has to give. We are taking a step back, but don't forget, we're L-cast too, and we don't die either. PEACE.--EK

After a Summer of parading up and down the east coast, we have all taken some time to put our lives back in order, or as close to that as five slackers can be. At any rate, I am proud to announce Mr. CVT's triumphant return to the wonderful city of Philadelphia. The new East Falls spot is also home to Mason, and  fellow musician, friend , and enemy of Starbucks bathroom, Tony Giunta. If you see him, ask him to tell you the story, I almost died laughing. It's destined to become the new Experience Kef home studio, and will surely produce many new tracks for the listening pleasure of the masses. Needless to say, it has been a long process to get everyone back in the city, but now that it is so, you can expect to see some new material in the months to come. Don't forget to pick up a copy of our current release Songs of the Harvest, now available on I-Tunes. We will be returning to the live stage in October, so be sure to check us out. See you soon!!!!!!--PG

'Window' is now featured on Neil Young's Living with War Today Website as a 'Song of the Times' (an ever growing list of relevant protest songs by contemporary musicians. Pretty cool little honor. Check it out, and some of the other good protest songs as well:

Songs of the Times

Here are the lyrics to 'Window"

I'm gonna do what I came here to do
Remind all the people that they've got the right to rule
Remind all the people blood money funds the evening news
I'm gonna do what I came here to do
I've got a secret, I keep it in a locket
I won't show it to the man who says he saw it
I'm gonna take it and paint it on a window
Light it with a candle that won't blow out when the winds blow
People been singing about this secret long and that's why it must live on

I'm gonna do what I came here to do
Remind all the people that they've got the right to rule
Remind all the people blood money funds the evening news
I'm gonna do what I came here to do

I've got a mistress who lives down the street
She's got a baby that she won't let me meet
Tells me it ain't mine because it don't got my eyes
Telling it was born on the day its daddy died
Fighting in a war that the devil's had planned
for 2000 years off in the holy land
Cause soldiers been dying while the war pigs be lying
Yelling at the mothers who just be trying
to get some closure by exposing all the crimes that been
committed in the name of the forth of july
And to the mothers with the babies who are still alive
Pray they'll grow to know their fathers eyes

I'm gonna do what I came here to do
Remind all the people that they've got the right to rule
Remind all the people blood money funds the evening news
I'm gonna do what I came here to do

I'm gonna do what I came here to do
Remind all the people that they've got the right to rule
Remind all the people blood money funds the evening news
I'm gonna do what I came here to do

It is official. The Haverford house is closed. We have vacated and are all now settled in our new residences. I knew this day was coming for a long time, but it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realized what I was losing. Mantua is a glimpse into a society that exists well below the radar of mainstream America. It is a neighborhood that will  feel the hand of our soon to be mayor for sure, but politics are for another time. All I know is that Mantuans are Americans, and even if America chooses to look them over, I am proud to call myself a Mantuan. I was sitting in my room contemplating what it means to be a Philadelphian, with the sound of rowhouses being demolished over Marvin Gaye singing "Inner City Blues," when I realized that Mantua is about to change. We came and left our indellible mark, and now we are moving on to the next stage as a band, as the neighborhood moves to it's next stage, whatever that is going to be. Yeah it was our practice spot, and a storage space, and even a recording studio, but that house had character. I will forever miss my roof, to which was the staging ground of many sessions. Music and other but mostly other. After taking one last walk through 3410 Haverford Avenue, I looked around and and said goodbye. It was time to go. I burned off into the sunset with George Harrison on the radio singing "Give Me Love" (Give Me Peace on Earth). I can only wish that the citizens of Mantua can find peace on their Earth.  Experience Kef  would like to thank Mantua for providing the background for us to define who we are as musicians. Check us out in June and July. Always and forever BIG UP TO MANTUA!!!!!!!!PEACE.--Ptah

I just want to say THANKS to all our lovely fans in the Russian Federation. Outside of our stronghold within the tri-state region, our cold-war comrades overseas definitely earn the title for quickest people to embrace and spread EXPERIENCE KEF. Keep rocking in the free world, wherever that may be!

--I thought that would get your attention. Anyway....
BIG UPS
to all the hep cats that came out to last Friday. It's about time we broke into Northeast Philly, and what better place to do it than The Arena. I wish I would have had a chance to do some bowling, that is, in the venue. The parking lot is a different story if you catch my drift. I really dug Kilo and we are all very interested in sharing a bill again in the future. Everyone needs to come and check us out this Saturday at Murph's in glorious Fishtown. We will be blowing the doors off around 10 p.m. It's a free event, and rumor has it that there will be a special guest bartender who maybe known to some people. I look forward to doing some Boozin' Perk-City style. It's gonna be a blast. You know how we do.  We have stickers, posters, and albums that we will be pushing at our upcoming shows, so if you dig what ya hear, help feed us by purchasing something. Seriously, my cupboards are bare, and I have been eating spaghetti for a month. As of now we don't have any shows lined up for May, but that could change at any time. For show information, check out our myspace profile, and eventually our website which is in a perpetual state of construction. (waving fist) We hope to see you soon. PEACE--THE  WEST  IS  THE  BEST BOYEEEE

P.S--Come out to see Come Dionysus Roc da Troc with the Monday night crew 2nite if you are in the area.
