Perceiving the World through
the Quality of Bestowal

Our perception is built on sensations of this world. All the products of our imagination are derivatives of our sensations. Even if we were to try to imagine an animal from a different planet, the image will still be based on something with which we are familiar. It is impossible to imagine something that has no analogue in our sensations.

We currently perceive this world inside the quality of reception, but we have to acquire the quality of bestowal and perceive the world from that perspective – not in the imagination, but in actual perception. This new perception will be the spiritual world.

Our attitude should be pragmatic and practical, since Kabbalah is a practical teaching which is in no way connected to abstract philosophical concepts. More>>

For now, you are not seeing anything real. You identify the smallest layer out of everything that you feel in reality. You examine reality according to what is good or bad for you. That is it.

What else operates the person? Nothing beyond that. So according to this measure I am going to discover the Upper Worlds?   I cannot reveal anything this way.

Therefore, you must rise above it. Does this demand sound illogical? The wisdom of Kabbalah says:

- "Your perception cannot be real, objective. Come out of yourself."

- You may reply: "But I am built this way. How will I be able to come out of myself?"

- And It answers: "Right, we will help you. But you can come out of yourself. Elevate."

- "What does it mean ‘to elevate,' with what desires will I be working?"

- "With your desires, but you must reveal them. And then you will discover additional great desires, but if you rise above them in the quality of bestowal, inside them you will feel a greater true reality. More>>

We Feel Before We Know
A person’s entrance into spirituality does not at all depend on whether he knows the structure of the spiritual systems described by The Book of Zohar, or whether he understands what he reads or not. On the contrary, knowledge and understanding can be an obstacle which hold him back him from being able to feel the spiritual world.

We enter spirituality like a baby that comes into this world and starts to feel something very unusual. First he feels, and only later does he begin to understand the connections between the things he feels. He presses a button, and a toy moves, he pulls a handle, and a door opens, and so on. We are the same and so first must develop the sensation then later the knowledge. More>>

The Book Of Zohar Shows Us The Path

As we read The Book of Zohar, we should understand that it speaks only about the connection between our souls and the one general system in existence of which we are all a part. The Zohar speaks about the various degrees of connection and the actions that bind us. The only focus in all of this is the correlation of desires, and the reader should imagine himself inside of this net of connections. Then The Book of Zohar will begin to influence him.

It all speaks only about the inner connection between people.    What is that eternality?

Answer by Dr. Michael Laitman:   "Eternality" is when I want to be only in this. For me, it is the greatest thing that exists. Our desire must be complete, because "spirituality" is completeness. It turns out that I must be similar at least to this completeness. Not to bestowal, not to anything, but at least to ascribe myself to spirituality, like a baby who is attached to his mother, and this is already enough to feel enlightenment.

The Language of Kabbalah is Bestowal

Question: Are there rules for how to study Kabbalah that a student has to follow in order to learn the language of Kabbalah?

Answer: The language of Kabbalah is the language of bestowal. All four languages of Kabbalah (the languages of the Bible, Law, Legend, and Kabbalah) explain how to bestow. This is what you should be learning when reading all the books and explanations. You should always remember that everything you are reading and hearing is teaching you about bestowal.

Kabbalah’s Secret to Lasting Pleasure Is Knowing How to “Flirt” With It
 
The wisdom of Kabbalah, says that even though the greatest sensation seems like the peak of enjoyment, it is but a microscopic dose of what one feels upon discovering the spiritual realm of reality. Indeed, the spiritual sensation is so intensely delightful that none of us would be able to bear it within our current abilities to feel. Kabbalah teaches us how to develop and expand our senses, reaching a level of perception where we experience eternity, perfection, boundlessness, and infinity.

Kabbalah reveals a very unexpected method of receiving lasting pleasure: All we have to do is “conceal” our desire in a process that is very much like flirting. The concealment attracts, causing the pleasure to be revealed. Similarly, while the lasting pleasure we long for is concealed from us, we have to acquire a desire for its revelation. Once we reveal the pleasure, the trick to keeping it going is to conceal that revelation from our own egoistic desire. Kabbalistic Text Bridges our Realm to the Spiritual

Question: Kabbalah books speak only about the spiritual reality, whereas I only have a perception of the material reality. Where is the bridge on which I can cross from the corporeality I perceive to spirituality?

Answer: We must realize that the spiritual world is only concealed from our senses. We live in a dream, in concealment. While reading Kabbalah books we need to want our senses to become sharper so that we will feel these forces, so that the world we are reading about is not disconnected from us, but is connected to us and is right here, operating inside of us. This is called "revelation," and this "revelation" occurs only through the Light's influence.

We do not know what this Light is. But by yearning to reveal the reality of which the book speaks, we awaken inside ourselves a force that influences us and slowly opens us to that feeling - at first to the feeling, and according to the feeling, also to understanding. Kabbalah Is The Operating Program Of Reality

The science of Kabbalah is not just a description of all reality, but rather it is the operating program of the whole of creation, instructions for the creatures as to how to use this whole reality. The program is written in such a way that it is an entire reality all by itself. When we read Kabbalistic text, when we talk about them, when we think about, or feel them, we involuntarily absorb the Light within ourselves, in our not-yet-formed desire. The Light molds this desire, leading us to a new reality.

The actions that the science of Kabbalah talks about are actual actions, and if we were able to read these lines as they were written, we would have performed the actions while reading.

The science of Kabbalah is the actual realization of all the material of reality and not just a description of the structure of creation and how it operates. More>>

Your Desire is not Yours, but a Force of Nature

Everything takes place within the desire for pleasure, which was created by the force of nature. Man is not yet aware that the desire really isn’t his and that it rules over him. He is yet to distinguish these two aspects within himself as separate: desire and man.

But then inside of him awakens the point directed at bestowal and one begins to feel his desire as alien to him. He begins to distinguish between 1. Desire and 2. Me (point in the heart).

One’s efforts to change his desires further distance himself from them, and one begins to feel like their slave. Regardless of whether they bring pleasure or pain, one begins to understand that these desires are being sent to him. One’s reality appears to comprise three components: 1. External Force 2. The desires he is sent 3. Me. More>>

In All the Universe, Desire is Virtual and Confined by Perception

Question: In order to feel the spiritual we need to develop a sixth sense, which does not pertain to the physical body. How does it work?

Answer: Everything that we feel is perceived by our senses, and presented to the consciousness in the form of a ready-made image or concept.

My notion is built from two components which are, “I” and “what I perceive.” In addition, everything occurs in the desire. After all, the desire is the matter of the world.

We can measure different reactions of the body to a glass of juice for example, but in any case this will be a measurement of the reaction, and not a measurement of the desire.

Therefore, any desire is virtual, in the material as well as in the spiritual worlds. The desire itself, whether it is egoistic or altruistic, does not exist in matter. More>>

Correction Begins From The Highest Levels

Question: I disagree with what you say, that “None of our actions really have any effect on climate change.” Our actions are driven by our egoistic desires, and therefore they do have a direct impact on climate changes. Doesn’t this make sense?

Answer: No, it does not make sense to me, because you are only seeing the effects and then making up theories about what you’ve seen.

Our world is a world of consequences and everything descends upon us from Above. This is why correction at a higher level will bring a result in our world, while in our world, we can never make any “correction.”

We learn from Kabbalah that everything happens under influence of the Light from Above. More>>

Sense Beyond the World You Perceive Through the Study of Kabbalah

It is well known that we discover the world using our organs of perception. We are like a black box that only perceives things entering it from outside. To be more precise, nothing actually enters the box, it is only being affected or "pressured" and then reacts to it.

Whatever "gets" into us - a self-contained system, through the five organs of perception is recorded, processed and analyzed. Whatever is not picked up by our five organs of perception we do not feel.

Kabbalah is a method that allows us to develop an additional organ of perception, i.e. to receive additional information about something that exists in the external universe. By mastering this method we start feeling the surrounding world in a completely different way: that world will be perceived as independent from our egoistical body and isolated from our "Self". A person that has sensed this is called a "Kabbalist".

Equipped with the Kabbalistic methodology, a man, remaining in its physical body, living in our world, can sense beyond the limitations of his egoistical “body” i.e. his desire to receive. He can acquire the ability to sense the world outside himself. More>>
