Whats up Parrotheads?!!! Hope everyone out there is doing well. Check this out. Our very own Mac McAnally donates single royalties to wounded troops. Mac is simply the man! Read below.

Wounded Warriors To Receive Proceeds From April 27 Release

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Newly signed Show Dog Nashville recording artist and
eminently respected music maker Mac McAnally has pledged to donate all his
artist royalties from his debut single "You First"
released on April 27 to the Wounded Warriors Project, whose mission is to
honor and empower wounded warriors. The commitment to helping wounded
soldiers fits well with the song's theme of brotherly love.
The single, which is available through all digital music retailers, is
prelude to a full album expected to be completed in June as McAnally works
recording into his touring schedule. A longtime member of Jimmy Buffett's
Coral Reefer band, Mac has been on the road much of this year.

Beyond his artist career, musician commitments and other musical endeavors,
McAnally is well known as one of the most successful songwriters of his era.
And to that end he will be performing May 1 and 2 in Key West at performing
rights organization ASCAP's annual songwriter's festival.

Of course, it was Mac who wrote the recent No. 1 hit "Down The Road"
for Kenny Chesney. And Chesney is so enamored of Mac's hugely successful
body of work he brought him into the studio to add his vocals to the song.

"Mac McAnally is the best kind of songwriter," Chesney said recently.
"With a couple chords and few lines, he opens up whole worlds...
worlds that are exactly where you came from, places you know by heart and
people who made you who you are today. It is so simple, yet nobody else can
take you to those places -- or make you feel so at home in the space of
three minutes. But that's why Mac is the songwriter everybody wishes they
could be."

And with the release of "You First" and the donation of its proceeds to
those in need, Mac McAnally has the chance to contribute even more than he
already has with music alone.

What's up everyone?! Hope everyone is enjoying Halloween with their family and friends. Just wanted to send out a quick note about the comments recently on the page. It's understandable that many people are very passionate about their political views. Be kind and please keep your comments rated G in respect for the other members and children who often visit this page. This page is a medium for all Parrotheads to come together and share stories, pics, listen to music and reconnect with fellow Parrotheads everywhere. Please keep foul language and harsh comments off the page. Politics and religion are two things that always manage to bring the very best and worst out of people. Please be thoughtful of others and keep this page clean and free of negative and hate filled words/thoughts. Again, this MySpace page is supposed to cultivate happy and positive feelings for everyone. Respect everyone and their political beliefs and voice your opinion by getting out there and voting.

Remember it takes more muscles to frown than smile so turn that frown upside down.
:o)

Fins up everyone and have a great Halloween!

I was born in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Los Angeles at the age of seven. When I was six years old, I said to my mother, "I'm going to be like Diana Ross!" I've been singing ever since. I grew up around music. My father sang, played guitar and trumpet. He was always very supportive and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. L.A. was a great place for an aspiring singer. I worked hard and soon found myself singing background on records and tours. I've toured and/or recorded with Janet Jackson, Madonna, Paula Abdul, Phyllis Hyman, Al Jarreau, Quincy Jones, Howard Hewitt, among others. I've been very blessed.

In 1992, I was a member of the Hip Hop group, Arrested Development, who won a Grammy for best new artist the next year. I joined Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band four summers ago and the blessings just keep on coming. In September, I recorded my first solo album entitled "Soul Power" which was released in Japan on November 26, 1999 by Toshiba-EMT, Japan. It's a dream come true for me and I hope to get a record deal in the USA soon.

I am a single mother and it's not always easy juggling motherhood and a career like mine. Jimmy, being a father himself, allowed my son to come out on the road with us this past summer and take pictures of us on stage for the Internet. (Is he cool or what?)

Basil, my son, had a great time and I'm so grateful to Mr. Buffett I could just kiss him. Anyway life is good and God is great. Thanks to all Parrot Heads for keeping us smiling and giving us more reasons to do what we do.

Lucy Buffett's LuLu's At Homeport Marina

Once upon a time, a Gulf Coast darling, born and raised in one L.A. (Lower Alabama) found herself living and dying in another L.A. (Los Angeles, California). She was born of a clan of adventurous spirits, thriving on life in the sun and life on the run. Still, Lulu knew she had just about enough of the plastic pace of Hollywood and yearned for the sweet comfort of home and a way of life that is more about living than lifestyle.

With many failures in her pocket, and many triumphs in her heart, she packed her bags and her cats, Jazz and Whisper, and headed back to parts known, back to the place where her roots had grown. Now an adult woman, the memories of a childhood scented by magnolias in the spring, crab boils in the summer, tire swings and the glories of Mobile Bay, were calling her home.

Anyone who knows Lulu, knows the woman can cook. She is a passionate entertainer, a natural storyteller, and not unlike her big brother, Jimmy, can throw a party you will be hard pressed to forget, or possibly, remember. She moved to a beautiful spot on Weeks Bay, Alabama, and LuLu's Sunset Grill was born. Where life is good and lunch lasts forever. It was just a little outdoor burger joint and bar, part of a bird estuary, in the same spot her father once took her and her brother fishing as children. A dream come true for a little southern belle.

When I first opened LuLu's Sunset Grill, I thought hey, a little place on the water to get a cold beer and a good burger, just like my daddy would have loved after a long day of fishing. How hard could it be? After working for some of the meanest folks in Hollywood, this would be a piece of cake, right? Wrong! It's one of the toughest things I've ever done. The restaurant biz is not for the faint of heart.

Since the beginning of LuLu-time, I would fire myself about once a year because I just couldn't take another crazy catastrophe like the key kitchen staff calling from jail needing to be bailed out before the Saturday lunch rush. But, the people in my family have never been very good at coloring inside the lines, and we've bailed plenty of folks out of jail after a wild night. We don't seem to do things the way normal people do. My mother blames it on chance. My father blames it on the tides. My sister blames it on my brother. And my brother blames it on my grandfather, who, as you may have heard the song, really has no one to blame, and we like it like that."

Five years later, LuLu opened a new restaurant on the Intracoastal Waterway in Gulf Shores, AL., after the state decided not to renew her lease on Weeks Bay. It was a bitter sweet move, but like any Buffett faced with a decision, she decided to throw a party and move forward. She enlisted the help of a buddy with a barge and, literally, moved the whole venue by water. Why be normal, why do things the right way? I keep this place and my dreams going by riding out the storms and adjusting to the tides. It's a special place, and I invite you to come and enjoy. LuLu's is a state of mind, really. It's a great escape, a great family spot. We're all about good food, good folks, good music, and good times. A place to confirm that "life is good....." ..

I write to you from my new place, LULU'S at HOMEPORT Marina, named lovingly after the home my beloved parents shared on Mobile Bay the last 30 years of their lives. Come on down and share the good times with me, my friends, and my family. I guarantee you will have a time you will want to repeat over and over again. LOVE LULU!
