Formula D Sonoma
Round 4
What a weekend we had in Sonoma California for Formula D round 4. Drift Alliance made a huge presence in the Northern California area with their clothing booth and also their driving skills. The DA Aces were on fire in Sonoma. It seemed like nothing could stop them in their quest for victory. With 2 of the 6 Aces competing at every Formula D events, it was only a matter of time to see one of them make podium. Ryan Tureck (Hampsuraa) in his Cooper Tire S13 was switched to awesome all weekend. With super high speed entries and amazing angle there was no doubt he would qualify in top 16.
Also Kenji Yamanaka drove his JIC S15 to its limits, taking 3rd place overall in Saturdays main event. Kenji was very consistent and there was nothing stopping him Saturday. We are very proud of our ACES and wish them luck in Seattle.
With the Drift Alliance Aces driving so well its hard to say they dont belong on this team. Drift Alliance is getting stronger now then ever before. The DA boys were having some problems of their on over the weekend.
Tonys Cooper Tire Tiger Racing S13 was having issues. Tony
was fighting to keep his car sideways and did everything he could to pull off some amazing runs. He was driving like a psycho on Friday and by Saturday the car couldnt take anymore and was falling on its face. He is working the quirks out on the S13 for Seattle.
Chris was having issues of his own bringing out the back-up Falken Tire Sears 350z. This is his demo car and doesnt have the power to really light up the tires. With some amazing entries he couldnt get the car to do what he wanted during qualifying on Saturday.
Jrs Falken Tire XMP Mustang was running great and his entries were the fastest of the day during practice. He was screaming in at about 83mph, thats some EAST Coast high speed entries. He made it into Top 16 and went up against Okubo, and was tricked when Okubo lite footed his high horsepower Skyline throwing Jrs run off. Jr was so off that he slammed into the wall in front of the judges stand. Hopefully they can get the Mustang up and running for D1 this weekend.
Chris and Jr are both off to Vegas for the weekend to run in USA vs. Japan in a D1 style event. Good luck to the both of them.
Last but not least Ryan Hampton in the newly painted BRE Falken Tire Camaro was laying down some sick runs all day on Friday. He didnt make top 16 but I am sure he will have his "A" game with him in Seattle.
