20? So soon...
Well, we've had a relatively slack couple of weeks, so here's some proper Friday News Update-age for you.
First off, webvideos. We love 'em, they make 'em.
Federal's team just headed off to Paris, and so they made up a little (but awesome) web video to go with it. Some of the spots are amazing, as is the riding.
Revolt toured Bratislava (3rd video down).
Padded Cell did a tour of the UK, and Joe Cox rode in it, filmed it, and edited together this video:
Van Homan has a cool new video part out.
Lotek spent a day with Ian Schwartz (right click...)
Demolition made a weird, but cool, web ad.
Scotty Cranmer flaired the Brooklyn Banks:
More Banks Jam stuff...
More stuff from the rest of the Pedal to the Metal tour...
Wallride to whip out from the Banks?
Joel got involved with this Bristol Edit.
Think that's about it, video-wise, apart from the millions of uploads of various videos to Googlevideo 'n' stuff.
So, product news:
Lotek have updated their range, head over to their site to see just how "hi" they officially consider "hitops" to be.
Tree have finally got their One Way Pegs out, so called because they're thicker on one side and thinner on the other:

Slightly older news, but to prove it's not just Odyssey who make horrible coloured parts, Profile can get their gash-colour-tech on too:

Limited edition indeed...
WeThePeople took time out from sponsoring people I know to help sort out some big bars, the Helium Wides:

Colony continue to do no wrong with their new range of parts, including this Ryan Guettler stem (Red available July, Black and Blue available August):

And these Colony Pivotal Slim seats, available in August as well:

It's here...

The Fit ECCD seat is finally out. Nice, light, like an SL with rails, and a month too late for Dan to run one. Gutted!
Whilst we're talking Fit - the new flat blue, oval tubed, brakeless Hawk frames are in:
- sweet.
If you've been on Bikeguide for any length of time, not only will you have witnessed John owning CrucialBMX after some pretty harsh accusations levelled at the Pijin Spoke Calculator, but you'll have seen the development of the Eject Option hub. Well, Simple have Odyssey/G-Sport'd Eject, and are now helping out with manufacturing and distro. As a result, here's the Simple Eject hub:

And with hubguard:

Big bearings, super low weight, and the best spoke protection you can get - dialled hubs.
They've also got this stem on the go:

And these pretty swanky looking pedals - bearingless, slim, and ultralight:

I <3 Niels T...
Chill Bro! is in store now, and restocked after selling out almost instantly. Check out Dan's review in the next blog down to realise you should probably buy it now!
Coalition have released pics of the updated (and excellent) Povah stem:

Rounded face plates, smoother back end - all good.

Profile are getting in on the "new stem" thing too...
Solid are remaking the Hella Light cranks now people are more accepting of lightweight cranks that break*:

*Installation error on this one? Gonna have to come up with something new...

And I think that about covers it for this week. Expect a small photo update in the next few days...

Category: News and Politics
It's June. The official 3 months of summer are upon us and it's up to us to make the most- so let's get on it! It even looks like the weather is on-side; lot's of happy sunshine faces! :)
So, on to the News...
Pijin have all sorts of new stuff in, such as- new Colony stuff; some nice shiny (and freakin' light) new frames, bars, sprockets, pegs e.t.c. Also in are some bling gold elementary stems, the new Dia Compe/Fly brake, Empire's 'Chill Bro!' (scroll down for a review) and the long anticipated Fit ECCD/S&M thin seat. Yes, they're both rad, but pretty much the same and bear a striking resemblance to the MacNeil SL...
Check out the Pijin Blog for other cool new shit!
Leeds- check Attila Bikes for the details, but the important things to know are that; there's going to be a huge riding session going on, they are going to be showing premieres of the new Etnies and Shook DVD's, Marv's 'Nang' and the new United video and even more importantly, Joel is organising a mass convoy up there for the 23rd of June and we want to know who's interested in going- so message us and let us know!
Empire of dirt is closing in on us. The rider list is pretty amazing and I've got a car ticket- woo hoo! Who else is going? Again message us back...
Check out http://www.myspace.com/junctionnine for some more local action- these guy's have a pretty tight scene and have some sweet blogs up, with some good photos and write ups about recent rides and stuff- well worth a look...
For those of you who don't know and as a reminder for those of you who do; Little Joel had his bike stolen a couple of weeks back and it could still be out there somewhere- It's pretty unique; It's a parkinson frame with a few Salt bits and bobs, WTP pro cranks and perhaps most unique of all, it's got a Gack rear hub with an Araya Himiko rim... Keep those eyes peeled. In the mean time incase Joel's bike is gone forever we thought it'd be pretty cool to try and pool together and see what we could do to help our brother in his time of need. With that in mind we've set up the 'Little Joel Bike fund'. The Idea is that we look around and see what spare stuff we've got lying around that might be put to better use on Joel's new steed. So here goes...
Frame- ?
Bars- Big Joel, have you still got those Berringer Bars I lent you?
Forks- Carlos? :)
Front Wheel- ?
Seat& Post- I'm pretty sure I could sort something out.
Rear Wheel- I've got an old wheel, it's not ideal though- so if anyone's got something else...
Cranks- Dearsy, step up.
Brakes- I don't need mine any more!
Tyres and tubes- I have a front tyre- anyone got a rear or some tubes?
Pegs- ?
Pedals- ?
Lets see what we can do! Message back if you can help- this stuff doesn't have to be mint, anything that works will do...
Ok, now the much anticipated Empire 'Chill Bro!' review...
So, back in 1999 or 2000 I watched my first BMX video. A friend of mine had just bought a K2 'Shovel' and the guy at the shop had also sold him this video. It was produced by a BMX shop in Austin called Trend and it opened my blinkered mid-Wales eyes. A combination of that video and the incompatibility of what I wanted to do on a bike and what my XC mountain bike was capable of, led me to buying my first BMX. The whole spirit of the video was what first attracted me; the riders were all badass and seemed to be having a boatload of fun at the same time. There was a whole community involved and I wanted to be a part of something like that. The years went by and a while later Tina and Tom, the heart and soul of Trend, went out on their own and founded Empire. They brought out a pretty good DVD a couple of years ago and now with Joel Moody at the helm, they've released their latest DVD, entitled 'Chill Bro!'
The intro launches onto the screen with a kicking rock track and plenty of Aaron Ross based anger. An assortment of crashes and lines from the rest of the riders sets the pace for the video. Aaron Ross opens up with the first section which consists mostly of; manuals, whips, 3's, B's, grinds and of course, plenty of bike throwing. Aside from having the worst style this side of Scotty Cranmer and the inability to do roll backs, Mr Ross manages to triumph over adversity and pull off some amazing riding. This section is all about the lines (hop-> manual-> double peg-> manual-> Ice-> whip!), flows pretty well with some Hip-Hop beats and shows that Aaron Ross has taken now taken bike throwing to a whole other level. Next up Cameraman, Editor and titles Artist, Joel Moody, shows what he is made of; which appears to be, mostly, hang 5's. Fair play to him, this section is a little samey, but Joel manages to pretty successfully combine flatland-based techery with flowing street lines in a way that many others have tried to do, but failed. A double peg gone wrong and a rail feebs to 180 starts the next section, which features the, presumably, footage starved Neil Harrington, Joe Simon and Morgan Wade, in fairly equal measures. Their riding styles complement each other pretty well, but the standout here would probably be Joe Simon who ends the section with a rail ride to 270 hop into a bank. Bob Scerbo has put together some really good sections in, amongst others, the Animal DVD's and more recently Lotek's 'Mixtape'. Unfortunately, I think he lets himself down a little bit here. I'm not sure if he switches between a cassette and a freecoaster, or more likely that this footage spans before and after the switch, but either way the contrast of both types of riding acts to highlight how much better Bob Scerbo seemed to ride when back when he ran a cassette. I've got nothing against freecoasters, but Bob Scerbo had one of the best rollbacks in BMX, which seems a little wasted on a freecoaster. Some good riding does go down between Bob and his Bro's and as far as the freecoaster goes, hopefully he's having fun with it, which is of course, what this is all about. I'm a big fan of V-club's 'Over Exposed' DVD, the end section of which goes to Dylan Smith. He gets a shorter section in 'Chill Bro', but it is filled with stylish street, some hefty bangers and defiantly packs a punch. If you like what you see then pick up a copy of 'Over Exposed'. Dylan Smith also owns the 90 degree curved wall in Austin (wallride to 360 tuck no hander out and some wallride to 720 out attempts) and I'm pretty sure his brother gets an un-credited clip in this section. Kevin Porter is up next and as expected his patented 'Hippy Hop' features in his section more than once, as well as some other pretty original moves. This stuff probably isn't the future of BMX, but it is pretty cool and makes for an entertaining section. Far from being gimmicky, Kevin Porter's fairly unique riding seems to stem from some really solid bike control and an ADHD-enhanced imagination. Not that it matters much here but I'm not too sure about his signature Fly frame, it doesn't feel very BMX to me, but he knows how to move it around and I'm sure it's going to sell well. Tony Cordona is FBM. He rides fast and wild. 9th street trails make a welcome return in this section, which look really fun to ride. Tony rips it up on the streets too and has some tech lines along with some big moves. Danny Hickerson is up next. I love watching his feet when he rides, I don't think he has a preferred stance and he seems equally comfortable spinning and whipping both ways, which shows in his section, with curved wallrides to whip and wallrides to bars out both ways. Foot fetishes aside, Danny Hickerson is flat out amazing. His section ends with a double peg on a rail to hop-over to big drop to flat. A lot of people may buy this DVD just because the next and last rider has a section. Chase Hawk has been riding for around 14/15 years and he's only 12 years old. He grew up on a BMX and seems to be able to ride absolutely anything. His section starts with Chase taking manic pleasure in watching Aaron Ross in pain. He really does love that stuff (see Lotek Vancouver). It's a little worrying. His section is a nice mix of ramp, trails and street and he rides it all with pace and killer style. His street lines aren't always that big, but he's defiantly got some nicely tech stuff down and isn't afraid to throw down some huge transfers when the opportunity arises.
The whole video flows really well together with an interesting range of music throughout, from Lou Reed and the Supremes to Black Sabbath and The Kings of Leon. Joe Rich makes a token appearance in the credits section and if you haven't quite filled your quota of Chase Hawk footage, there is a pretty long bonus riding section, which is all about the Hawk. Maybe I'm a little biased, but I really like this video. It's not particularly cutting edge, if you want that then you should probably go for something like 'Left, Right' or 'Put in Werk', but if you want to see a range of all-round solid riding from some people who actually look like they're having fun, then 'Chill Bro' ticks all the boxes. The hand stencilled artwork is a nice touch and adds to the home grown, fun, feel too. If you happen to meet Tina and Tom at any point then give them a high five from me.

Category: News and Politics
Well it's friday agian and as Marky is snowed under with work it has fallen to me (Dan) to have a go at writing the prestigious, award winning, DISSRM news...
Well I've been looking around, trying to re-locate my finger back on the pulse and whenever I find anything new, Marky swipes it and before you know it it's up on Style43 or Pijin. So if you're after some sweet Cameron Wood vidage, trails action at the Lavin house, the bi-daily Scotty Cranmer trick-fest or or if a UK based style-fest is more your thing then the Pijin Blog has you pretty much covered...
Talking of Pijin- John tells me that they're getting the new Empire DVD, Chill Bro! in next week, that if you find Slam based bars a little cramped then Pijin have you sorted with bigger bars up to 8 1/2 inches high in half inch increments. i.e. the new Oddysey lumberjack and Proper bars...

Actual size...
Also out to buy now is the Shook DVD Put in Werk- Joel hooked himself up with a copy and liked it so much that he was compelled to write a review of it- and here it is...
the short version
its AWSOME!!!! buy it from pijin NOW!!!
the longer version
as with all shook dvd's you know that there is gunna be a lot of good shit happenin on screen and as a TV and vid production student im always tryin to keep up with BMX dvd's cuz in the terms of a gangsta "das mah shit blud, yuh get meh!!!" so i sat down after a hektik day packing to move back to the trowbo and had a watch as id been waitin on this for a while so it goes like this:
- it kicks off with a real nice cut intro showing all the riders and trips goin down in the vid mixed with a real mellow song to get you into things.
- first section hits yuh and it rips! a kid called Jack Maddock, mad street steez, huge pop and likes landing into steps no matter wot tricks he's doin just uses them like a fukin flat bank? the dude is sik.
-next you got this guy called Rahmel Hoyle (i fink thats how u spell it) awsomke skills, hanger toothys on anything. big spins, proper grinding skills.
- the mix section kicks in which rips like you wouldnt believe with all the noo skool street moves.
- theres another mix section after this focused on a load of LA riders like Eric Cuiper and Skyler Ellingson with that LA style sunny and flowing but still with the big moves.
- Jeff Kennedy pops up after the mix. hardcore grinder. tech spinner, top notch on the nozzer mannys. real good smooth section.
- next up is Marlon Europe mr front wheel, really long hang 5's, hang nowt's and a few nozzers. got a good barspin, real good balance on rails, and his final couple tricks blast out!!!
- then you got Jarred Allen, street lines!!!, thats what i gotta say about this boss. hes got street stylin, manny delux, and so smoove and technical. plus some of the most immaginative stuff i ever did see!
- finishing with Chase Dehart. my personal favorite rider at the mo, he really has taken bump jumpin to a new level, plus his tech is so good smith hard 180? easy as a muthafuka, plus hes pushin tech combo's so far you have to see the video to know whats goin down, it is much better than the preview on the web.
- the outro cleanly finishes off the video and cuts it off to a nice point. theres some bonus stuff which i havent watched properly but its alright.
this video is shit hot and has got all the current badass street steez that you want in a video!
its AWSOME!!!! buy it from pijin NOW!!!
In other news I am informed the Profile are no longer doing hollow Ti axles- due to the hightened production costs meaning that they would have to retail at £120 a pop... I think we can all think of someone in particular who'd probably buy one, if not two...
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks you'll know that there's a T-shirt sale on at Pijin with loads of T's for only £10- make the most!
DISSRM has upped it's profile somewhat having been featured on the 4down news page, and on The Come Up's Euro section.
I thought it might be quite cool to get a few DISSRM/Southampton rider's bike checks up on here and why not start with DISSRM's very own Mark Westlake- Marky his a pretty different type of set-up that has been gaining in popularity over the last year or two. It suits his riding style really well, which is all about control, style and flow. I fired off a few questions for him two answer and ripped the rest from that damned Pijin blog...

So, how would you describe your current set-up and how does it reflect your style of riding? Well, I suppose it's a sort of generic "brakeless, pegless" bike, with the usual big bars, and now with a freecoaster (although every now and then I want to put a cassette back on...). It's a pretty simple bike, which I suppose suits my riding style. I don't really do tricks as such, so pegs, cut-down bars and stuff like that doesn't really come into it. I like the control I get with big bars, plus it kinda suits my size.
How do you rate the 'Burlish'? Is it everything you thought it world be? Too. Good. It's just worked out so nicely, no frame I've had before except maybe my first 'proper' BMX frame has really made this much of a difference to my riding. It just feels amazing! Plus the paint's nice on it, and I haven't even taken the stickers off it which is a bit of a miracle?
How many stems have you had in the last 6 months and what do you keep doing to them? A Jump-Off, an Attila Stem, and now a Fly Mosca stem. Oh, and an FBM Crown Royal. They all die at the faceplate. Apparently, I'm too butch? The Mosca *touch wood* is holding up OK though, and I'm liking the short-ness of it.
What made you want to run a freecoaster? Just to try something new, really. I'm glad I got it - it just makes riding in general more fun, smoother and nice and silent. Even just playing around on flat it feels really nice, and then when you start doing real stuff on it it just gets better. Nothing beats the feeling of a nice 'n' floaty 3 to fakie with a coaster on!

Your set-up isn't exactly southbank aproved- how much hassle do you get about it? Not as much any more. It's got a bigger seat on now so it's slightly more style-council-approved, but you still get the odd comment every now and again. I think people have come to realise that it suits how I ride, so it's not too bad.
On average how much time do you spend a week on bike maintainence? Not that much. Just sorting out my tyres 'n' stuff I guess. When my freecoaster was new it used to take forever, but now my bike's pretty dialled. Everything pretty much stays nice and sorted for ages now.
How long do your grips usually last and why? A month or so, if I'm lucky. My haggard hands, deathgrip stance and love for thin grips means that they tend to just disappear. I don't get how you get years out of your Strickers, I just kill 'em! Think I've found my ideal grip in the form of Federal thins though, £4 a pop, nice and thin, and they seem to be lasting longer now. All good, just gotta hope they keep making them. If not, I'm ringing up every mail order and stock-piling a stash of 'em next time my student loan comes in...
Are you happy with your set-up? And if not what's next on the list? Cranks. Cranks and maybe bars. I've had to self-drain an infected cut on my right calf 3 or 4 times now in the last couple of months, just 'cos I keep mauling my calf muscle on the end of the pinchbolt bit of my Hollowbites. They're excellent cranks apart from that one problem, and that's just 'cos I have my feet well close to the crank-arm when I ride. Bit of a downer, but hey. Profiles in white? Royals? Who knows. My bars have been spanked around a bit recently and they've got a bit bent, so they're probably gonna get replaced. I worry enough about the whole butted bars shenanigans without knowing it's bent...
Think thats about it- is there anything you want to add? Thanks to Pijin for all the help with getting my bike together, and you for donating me all those spare parts when I first started out!

Speaking of no brakes (well linked, I know...) Diatech have a 'new' brake out.

Hmm... looks familiar somehow?
Seventies e-mailed me with a load of new Shadow stuff that's coming out. Along with making the ugliest seatpost in BMX, they also do these forks, which are pretty interesting in that they are available in two different rakes.

And lastly, this Blackman video is pretty amazing.
Well that'll probably do it. Thanks to Jeol, Marky and John for the help compiling this- I'm going to eat some breakfast then bust on into town.
If anyone has any ideas/requests for stuff to go in the next news, just let us know. Also, if anyone is thinking of laying down some hard cash for a pair of bars or whatever and wants to know if they're any good- hit us up and we'll try to get some sort of review together- chances are one of us has owned them/ knows someone who has had them, otherwise we'll just make it up...
One last thing.
Weather. Saturday, chances of rain then lots of this.

Looking good! :)

Current mood: artistic

Videophone technology, eh. Where'd we be without it. Without this picture of Buckingham Palace by Dan, basically.
London. Capital of England, the UK, and street. Most people will have heard of some of the spots there either through video, photographs or word of mouth. You can pick up pretty much any BMX magazine at the moment and there'll be at least two or three photos from London there, so as you can imagine there's quite a strong draw to it from BMXers. Dan had come down to stay with me at Southbank before after I'd lived there for a week, and that stay coupled with some random cruises around London back when Dan was living in the cultural epicentre of the UK, Slough. Anyway, with these little tasters of what London had to offer, coupled with a desire to film some new stuff for Joel's up-coming mixtape, it was decided that finally, some of the DISSRM crew would head to London. This is where Dan takes up the story...

Joel, railstall to fakie, Wandsworth.

Get a tripod!
So, we'd been talking about taking a trip up to London for a while- I'd ridden there a few times already so I knew there were at least 1,457,976.3 super-sweet spots that Joel would love to get pro on and as my Bro lives in central LDN too it just made sense…

Another hectic Southbank session, check out the crowd. Poor pic of SB local Mike whipping in. Boost!
Being as Joel and I are incredibly popular and tend to have all kinds of shit going on at weekends and being as Joel can sometimes be a little 'cash exempt' toward the end of a loan period, it took a while from actually deciding we should go to actually going. Anyway one weekend at the end of April the stars aligned, Joel made a withdrawal from the bank of Pijin and I rinsed the mileage on my company car… London ho!

Long exposure + a zoom lens = ______

We got there at about 9pm on the Friday, parked up outside a friends house and made the near-epic 8 mile ride over to where we would actually be staying at Marky's place. We dropped our bags off hit up a generic fast food outlet and then made our way over to Southbank™, a mere 2 minute ride from Marky's front door! It seems like whenever you go to Southbank for the first time, it's not quite what you were expecting- it's a nice little spot, that's fun to ride, is pretty good for meeting up with other riders and is somewhere where you don't tend to get kicked off from.

Joel, toothyhanger on the grind block at Southbank. Don't tell the skaters...

You guessed it...
We rode there for a little while and then made our way over to St Paul's stair sets- a longish 6 followed by a longish 5 followed by a longish 4… Marky busted out a bump 180 up the 5 first go and then proceeded to not quite get it again as soon as the camera came out- it did make for some 'grade A' crashes though! Joel 3'd the 6 and I repeatedly bitched out of a 180, until our session was cut short by the unfortunate combination of a group of police officers and a James Smith…

Ice, ice, baby.
After a nice chat James and the police said their goodbyes and we headed of to ride a pretty steep flatbank set-up down by the Thames. Joel did some pretty high airs and I pulled a Fastplant on the bank to Danplant on the floor…

That's not coming out any time soon...

Joel, air, steep as hell bank, by the Thames
Home-time; making our way back to Marky's whilst crossing the Thames on the Millennium bridge we made acquaintance with one of London's finest constabulary- I won't go into the details here, as it makes me a little bit angry thinking about it, but the simple case of a small group of BMXers crossing an empty bridge at 2 in the morning resulted in the tactical firearms response unit being called out, an arrest, a 'de-arrest' and a butt-load of hassle… Why you might ask? One simple reason: the policeman in question, was a Dick.

Focus check, Wandsworth.

Fully launched table, Miscellaneous Park. To flat.
After finally being let on our way stiff drinks and then beddy-byes were in order- God did not quite see it that way and decided as one last act of annoyance to tear the bag holding said stiff drinks and spill it's contents on the ground, which happened to be on a particularly busy central London road. We went to sleep that night, with the sound of a Merc's low profile tyres crunching over a load of broken glass, ringing in our ears…

Dan, wallride at E&C
On Saturday we woke up bright and not-so-early and rode about half a mile down the road to go and ride the bank to rail set-up of Marv crooks to crash fame. The bank looks rough as hell (and probably is if you're sliding your knee down it…), but is actually really nice to ride, as there is a nice transition into the bottom of it. Joel got rad over the hip I did some wallrides and ate some noodles and Marky took some photos.

Joel, fishy toboggan, pre-knee death.
Elephant and Castle is a pretty weird place, it's kind of a melting pot of different people and cultures and as a result there's some really good, quite obscure eateries and a healthy dose of shade. The next spot we rode has on past trips always been admired from afar rather than ridden, mainly due to the aforementioned shade. However, luck was on our side that day and we actually got to session it for quite a while. It's a really good brick bank/bump affair with lines aplenty that is well worth seeking out, if you are man enough…

Joel, opposite wall carve to pop out to whip to pedals, at Miscellaneous Park.

Late afternoonish we decided to head back to Southbank to see if we could muster up a few people to join us on a trip to 'Miscellaneous Park'; no dice unfortunately, but we had an 'A to Z' and a will to ride one of the weirdest set-ups north of the Thames. Miscellaneous Park is not a skate park, it's just a park, but it has a kid's playground somewhere in it that has on one side some massive slides and loads of hipped and spined flatbanks and on the other side there's a pretty weird dried out fountain thing that can only really be understood by going there- both sides are really fun and quite different to ride.

Joel, toboggan, E&C
It was quite dark by the time we left, it was a bit past my bedtime, I was quite tired and was pretty much done for the day. Or so I thought… So we rode the few miles back to Marky's place and stopped for some pizza on the way and it was goood pizza. The pizza place happened to be just around the corner from another fairly well known London riding spot, the Shell Centre - Joel and Marky fancied hitting it up and I was quite happy to cruise over and chill a bit while the other guys rode. It's a six backed onto another six with a wide three set running along the top. Joel did a pretty pro hop to manual on top of the three dropped down to hangfive along a lower section and threw a 3 down the six set. Nice. Marky was bump-hopping up the six and 180ing down them. I fancied the look of the 180 and proceeded to thoroughly annoy myself by bitching out again and again and again. This went on for some time until I was so pissed off with myself that I threw the 180 half hoping I would crash to serve as a punishment to myself.

Dan, E&C, reverse angle.
We couldn't really leave it at that and as Southbank was on the way back to Marky's, we decided to hit it up as a wind-down. Again, it didn't quite work out like that and at 2 in the morning mildly inebriated Marky and I were sending our selves 180 degrees down Southbank seven set.

Dan, 180 down Southbank 7-set, with the help of furious anger (and cider).
On Sunday we had planned to ride the London's calling route backwards the idea was that we would end up at Wandsworth roundabout, which happens to be pretty close to where we parked the car...

Dan, 180table. I won't come up with a smarmy caption for it...
...So, I guess this is where I take over the story. With Dan being pretty much totalled after a day of riding around with a haggard body, he remained pretty chillaxed throughout the day, stopping to push us all into doing stuff we were unsure of (apart from a 180 over a bench off that red-brick wall-bank-wall setup you'll see in the video, needs to be pulled!).
After a brief breakfast at a coffee place near the Thames, we headed over to Southbank to recruit for the day. To our surprise, there was only one rider there, so we duly asked him if he wanted to hit up some street with us. Ash said yes, and so off we went, with a fresh rider in tow.

I know what you're thinking - how can he get that close, without getting hit? Well, tyre-buzz on my hand 0.5seconds later should give you an idea...
Cruising down the river, passing without riding the Guys & St. Thomas 4-set, onwards to Vauxhall bridge. This is where some local knowledge came into play, and we headed off to Vauxhall wallrides. In the Vauxhall/Lambeth bridge area, there's some amazing street hidden down various back alleys that could easily keep you happy for a whole day, so picking a couple of spots was a tricky one. In the end, Dan and Joel flowed around the curved wallrides there, with Joel fancying some tricks out of them. After a while though, we decided to head out and try and make up some ground.

Joel, Vauxhall wallride. Full art-fag in effect...
That was all well and good until we hit the next spot, the aforementioned wall-bank-wall setup. Out came the videocamera and a couple of lines got filmed, and off we headed. For about another 10m. A tight little 5-set with less than a bike-lengths run-out (you had to kink it like hell...) was crying out for a 180 up, so I obliged it. A few goes later to get the perfect roll-back and we were off. For again, about 10m. With a mini version of the earlier wall-bank-wall setup which acted as a scary (if you over-cooked a stall, it was a 20ft drop to stones and water) bank-to-sub. Joel manned up and threw down some toothy chinks, and with that successfuly captured on digital film we headed off. To the other side of the road.

Dan, same place.
This tight little setup was basically no more than an elongated U-shape made out of bricks, which was given the drop-in-to-feeble treatment by Ash, the ride-along to 180 out to half-cab onto the road treatment by me, and the ride-along to bars and whip out by Joel. Dan threw a table (I think?) and called it a day at that spot. Ash killed his tube, and without a patchkit, spare tube, socket set or indeed pump, we were in a fully 'no dice' situation as far as fixing it went. Fortunately, in that we'd only ended up travelling about 5ft from Southbank in 24hrs of riding, it meant he didn't have far to walk back...

Dan, 180table, pre-hand and rib death.
After the U-wall setup, we actually had a decent ride to hit up the next spot. We took a quick tour of some skate-stoppered marble ledges, saw the massive 14-set that Marty W 3'd down in the London's Calling jam, and then cruised through Battersea park. It was then that my up-until-then lovely KMC 710SL decided to break, as we crossed a busy road. Fortunately, and I have no idea how, it was the most relaxed chain-break ever. With nothing more than a savage *ting* as my chain whipped the right stay on my new frame (thanks...), it flew across the road leaving me to wonder how I hadn't a) gone over the bars, b) kneed my stem really hard, or c) been mown down by on-coming traffic.

Joel, chilling at Wandsworth. 72hrs in London. 36hrs spent riding.
Similarly to Ash's earlier situation, we were left several miles from home, with me sans chain. Fortunately, the car wasn't parked too far away, so with a quite bar and stem swap, I was left to lead Joel the rest of the way while Dan scooted back to the car, and his friend's house.
..
Probably some sort of OCD thing going on while we watched Left-Right and the footage from that day.
The next spot we hit up featured the load of red-brick steps and banks that you'll see Joel shut down in the video. After a few goes at the 'easy' line, Joel sent the line with the 360 and whip ender. All good.

Fancy pizza, ultimate session restarter?
With that sessioned, we made our way further down the river past another couple of London land-marks (the heli-port, Battersea Powerstation + Dogs Home), and hit up the set of a scene from "A Clockwork Orange" and many BMX videos. Wandsworth roundabout is a weird one.
To get into the actual riding area of Wandsworth roundabout, you have to cross a super busy road to get into the under-pass to get into the centre of it. When you ride down the narrow alley towards the entrance to the tunnel that'll transport you from dreary London suburbia to street paradise, you're filled with a sort of "I hope this doesn't end up on Crimewatch" moment as you turn the corner, not sure if you're going to get mugged or not. Fortunately, Wandsworth is actually pretty sketch-free, and as soon as you get into the tunnel, you can ride the little bank to wallrides that line the tunnel walls. This little apperitif serves only to break you into the awesomeness of Wandsworth.

Late night? Early start? Long ride ahead? Coffee? Plan.
You know sometimes you think "Why did they design that like that?" when you see monuments, buildings and so on? Wandsworth is really one of those. Massive concrete banks lead to perfectly sized wallrides and sub boxes, and quick-creted in transitions at the bottom and on the lips of the banks means you can flow around this place like it's one gigantic skatepark (a la Joe Fox, which you'll all see all too soon in the Shook video "Over The Pond"). It really is too good.

However, 2 14-hr riding days had kinda taken it's toll on us, and after rinsing the McDonalds Employee Discount card at the Golden Arches above Wandsworth, we decided to call it a day, after Joel finished his last challenge, the Wandsworth rail. Remember I said Dan visited me after the first week I'd lived in London? Well, we ended up at Wandsworth then, and met up with some other riders. One of them did the rail to fakie, and I'd always wanted to be there again when someone did it when I had a better camera setup so I could get 'that' photo on it. Fortunately, Joel was there, and my setup allowed me to almost realise the angle I wanted. It's close enough, anyway...

Joel, second angle rail stall.
After that, Joel and I packed up our things and began the mission back to Southbank. With a near flat-out 20minute ride to get back to Southbank, off we pedalled.

Joel, whip again, reverse angle.
Time flew past and we reached the welcoming harsh banks of Southbank, and also met London rider Taliban Tom. Taliban had been out filming for the new video by Marv (of Voices fame), 'Nang', and let us check out some of the footage. The main talking point was the ridiculously long wallride Taliban had tried, down a long, long 14-set. With not quite enough speed, Taliban had to gap off it early, and ended up clipping the last step with the front wheel. We watched the actual slam frame-by-frame, simply because as he goes over the front, his hands don't actually leave the bars until the knuckles of his right hand hit the floor.
Brutal.
Fortunately, Taliban's made of rock and iron, so he was relatively unscathed, and lived to fight another day.

Double-tyre to whip.
It was about this time that Dan called to say he'd driven back to my place, so off we went for the last time to go pick up Dan and Joel's things from my flat.
With the car packed and their weary bodies folded into position in what little space was left, Dan and Joel cruised off, thus ending their London session.

Tourists!
They say a picture says a thousand words, so a 3:30 long video at about 24fps would give you about 5, 040, 000 words, which is approx. the length of this blog. A nice, round way to end it off, don't you think?
Enjoy...

Stay tuned some time this week for a DISSRM London Tour update. Involving stories of threats of being arrested for riding over the Millennium Bridge at 2am (the policeman described it as an emergency?), Joel sliding on his knee down about 10ft of the roughest banks in London, sampling various foods at various cafes and loads more. Pics 'n' videos up soon, hopefully? That's right - DISSRM web video. Teasers:
This
Is
How
We
Roll.
Anyway, it's been 2 weeks, and apart from a load more Wombolts snapping, more messages from Odyssey about them breaking because apparently they're all installed incorrectly, and yet more messages from Odyssey about them beefing up the non-attached crank arm, not much has happened.
Sweet!
Well, within the last two weeks, Street Joel picked up his 20.75"TT Fit-Ed frame, and is pretty much as super nice as you'd expect for a £300+, Made in America frame. After some initial "I dunno"-ness from Joel, a couple of pacey hop-whips to pedals (What...) later and he was happy.
In other Southampton BMX news, the infamous Paddling Pool Spot is no more, unless you head out there with a pump and some buckets.
NinetoFive have a website up. Go scope out some snazzy intros 'n' stuff there.
While we're on the subject of "snazz", the new & improved Lotek site has even more new content added, including the first couple of minutes of Lotek Vancouver. Official "Watch it before I go out riding" video for Dan, it's good. Even got a review I did of it on Style43, and you can even see a review I did of it in Ride? Haha, no commission for that one, cheers for the heads up Dan...
Kink's new stuff has dropped in the UK, so if you want some expensive componentry from America, go nuts. It's all featherweight stuff, looks pretty nice, and comes in a whole load of different colours, so if that's your bag, hassle Pijin to get in what you need.
1164 have released some 'new' pedals out. I say 'new' - can you say 'Wellgo/Gusset'? Interesting fact: Luke can't.

I'm really, really liking the FBM Joint frames. Nice, tapered stays, good attention to detail, and FBM's frames are almost always flawless.

All good.
Mutiny (who make the best frame ever...) have released some photos of new bits 'n' pieces they've got samples of, incl. flanged or flangeless grips,

Glam bars (8.125" high, 28" wide (actually 28, not '28" but we mean 26"', eh Fit?), 1° upsweep, 12° backsweep),

and carbon headset spacers?

On the ever-updated Mutiny site, they've got some sweet photos of Liam Earnshaw by Joe Cox:

Sweet.
Mutiny's Nikki "The Elbows" Croft has also come through with this web vid for Seventies.
United have a new Corey M vid up: here.
Slight change from this sorta stuff:

The new Dig is out, and is really, really good.
Jason Pheelan now rides for FUSE in the UK, and also has a cool interview in the new Dig as well. At least I think it's Dig, may be Ride? WTP's website confused me... Either way, boy's got skills, check out his section here from WhatYaLookinAt. If you like what you see, WYLA and the Attila vid are available for a tenner for the pair of 'em from S43. Shameless plug I guess, but apparently S43 has the last few copies of WYLA in the country, so they say?
In WTP video news, Farren Downes section:
here.
Orchid have some new team members:
"Well it's not new, half of it is. New to the ranks include Loz Taylor from the Northwest, Dean Evans from Scotland, Marty whos been gettin' about recently and calls Newcastle home and Jason Phelan who is by far king of the coverage at the moment. They will be joining team manager and chuckle brothers fanatic Owain Clegg, Matt Roe, Mark Love, Robin Fenlon and Nikki Croft..."
That's from the RideUK blog, I think they may have written it, who knows? Either way, info's there I guess... Speaking of, go to Orchid's site to check out their new shoes. Hint: Only buy the Majestic in black, or you'll look like a tool. No joke.
Seshin have a new frame out, the Shithawk. Classy.
"75 degree HT 71 Degree ST .049 DT and CS .035 TT and SS
Integrated HT Smaller O.D. TT Removable Gyro tabs. Mid BB Heat treated BB, HT and dropouts.
TT sizes: 20.5, 20.75, 21 , 21.25 Rear ends 13.22 -13.5inch on 20.5 and 20.75 frames 13.75 - 14 inch on 21 and 21.25 frames"
No pics of it yet, I don't even really know why I bothered posting that...
Pegleg have a trailer out for their new DVD.
Shadow are working on a new freecoaster. Judging from their "success" with every other hub they've made, I think I'll stick to fantasising about a LHD Federal or KHE...
I think we may have covered this before, but Proper Mike Miller frame ring any bells?

Atomlab have some new pedals out, the G.I. pedals:

Al good. Rumour has it the thinnest cast aluminium pedals ever? Half the price of regular Atomlab stuff too, all good. Open bearing or with their double DU bushing 'sealed' kinda system. They cost $35 or $50 respectively, so that'll probably equate directly to £35 or £50. If it's any more, I'm not buying them, purely on prinicpal that the exchange rate's almost $2:£1, so paying that much extra for something than other people have to pay is naturally going to be balls.
Profile now do their cranks in hazel brown. Meh.

Anyway, that's about it this week for the news. Like I said, DISSRM Tour update and possible webvideo up soon.

Chances are that this'll become a fortnightly thing now, just to let people know. It's not set in stone yet, but we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, on to the answers from last week's pop quiz.
Carlos was unhappy 'cos of the tyre burns as a result of this:

Carlos was a little happier after some whip airs though:

The drinks were Street Joel's (corrected...), Dan's and mine (In that order...) after the end of a long filming session for Joel's new vid. They were just at the foot of this rail that Dan gapped:

That pitch black photo? Well, that was Dan attempting to pap' me pumping the vert corner at Bournemouth park (Official Nora Cup "Funnest Park Ever" winner). Whilst Dan's photo may have failed due to my flashes being packed away, it was all systems go for the pitch-black, night-time-after-the-skaters-have-gone DISSRM train session. Because of the lack of light focus was an issue, so here's the only focussed photo of the Dan/Joel fun train:

And Joel whipping (speaking of - as of Thursday night, Joel is official owner of the non-Burger King affiliated whopper) into the bank (and also highlighting the problems of shooting photos of people in dark clothes and a dark bike against a dark background!):

Dan also found the time to keep up his weekly quota of table-related media coverage with this sweet lay-out over the grindbox/funbox gap. Dan was boosting this so much he was almost hitting the grind rail in the middle of the jumpbox, which could've led to some potential hectic bike/rail/Dan/ground interface action. As he enjoys the current rank of "Mr. Consistent", he was able to fire it out a good few times so we could try out some different angles. Vote for your favourite by texting "PHOTO " to...

There was another DISSRM Collaboration this week too, with the bikeswap going on between Dan and Joel leading to a pretty serious brick ledge feeble and a tweaker table.

Over the holiday period, Dan and I also took a trip back up to the Homeland (a.k.a. Mid-Wales) to see family and friends, and to hit up the ol' Metal Mini™. A bump-jump180 up stuff session took place, which ultimately led to the bump180 up the five-set featured in this video:
Stunning quality.
Anyway, here's the two pictures that actually looked half-decent from that ramp session. And yes, to answer the question - Dan really is airing that high, it's not just a trick of the shadow.

And finally, a couple of pics from random sessions. First up is a pic of Joel at That spot near Aldi, with a rail-ride to bars. I know what you're thinking - not the best shot ever. Well, the rest of the shots from that session (and the hop bars at St.Marys Joel did, as well as some other misc stuff) are heading up onto the 4Down site soon, so keep checking back there.

Dan with a rained-out carpark session fenceride:

And Joel with a whop at Hoglands:

Once Dean's chosen what photos he wants to use, I'll put the overspill up here too.
On to real news.
First up is that Facad is no more, at least in the BMX world. Bruce Crisman has sold the company off to a non-BMXing company who are based in L.A., but they're severed all ties to BMX, including the pretty dialled Facad team of Seth Kimbrough, Mike Hoder, Davey Watson and all their flow guys.
Speaking of Davey Watson:

What?
Davey also had a bikecheck up which you can see on the Federal site or Data. Or here?

Dan Lacey also got in on that:

"How was the Paris trip ? The trip to paris was completely out of hand, Riding amazing spots everyday, hangin out wiv ma boyz, meeting loadz of new peeps, tryin to find bud, Duiplex, seeing Kristian absail down the side of our apartment building 3 stories up as we forgot the keys, everynight was a party thanx to D-Wat$$, getting out of hastings is the best thing that could happen to anyone. It was an amazing trip i was so syked to be there deffinately be back fo sure bruv.
What's new with Federal ? Theres alot of new shit with Federal, Frames, Forks, Bars, Sprockets, a new clothing range, stickers and shit. Theres too much too list and i dont wanna ruin any suprises coz people are gonna shit themselves when they see all the new products.
Do you have any particular settings ? Are you sensitive to your frame's geometry ? Erm......i havent ever been asked this question before. Well i dont really think i havent any particular settings apart from No Brakes and 2 pegs.....does that count. Frame geometry dont mean shit to me as long as its 20.5" i'll ride it. within reason obviously.
freecoaster or driver ? I ran a freecoaster for about a 3 weeks, urm i wasnt reall into it. I love watching Bruce and Dan C runnin that shit, it looks like so much fun but im shit at rollbacks so i steer clear of fakies if I can.
brake or brakeless ? Brakeless all the way
what parts do you brake the most ? Without a doubt i go through spoke like butter, it does my head to the max. Thats the problem with hangin up and shit but you tend to learn after a while but i still havent.
tell us something in French: hahaha i got one i used more than any phrase all week.
Bruv facile savez-vous où je peux acheter l'herbe ?"
Next up is a Randy Brown bikecheck:

"
Frame: 20.5 chrome Eastern Grim Reaper Color: Flat Black, custom painted Forks: Eastern chrome UltraSlim Bars: Sunday Triumph Stem: Eastern Deceptikon Grips: Eastern I.D. Rear Wheel: Odyssey Hazard Lite Front Wheel: Eastern 36 Hole Pro Front Tire: Fly Ruben Rear Tire: Fly Ruben Cranks: Eastern Pro Sprocket: Eastern Medussa Lite Chain: Shadow Half-link Pedals: Eastern Sealed Magnesium Seat: Customized Eastern TightAss Seat post: Eastern Pro Seat clamp: Integrated Pegs: none Bar Ends: Eastern BarEnds Modifications: shaved 990 mounts and brake loops, seat stay trimmed down a bit. Removed some pins from the pedals"
Subrosa have a new video on their site.
Whilst we're on the subject of new videos - VClub have a new video up too.
Lotek also have a couple of new videos up on their new site. The new site layout is really nice, and is pretty simple when you consider how much content they've got displayed there. It's a cool idea, and apparently Rich has a lot more ideas in the pipeline, so we're all good.
KHE have a new signature Phil Aller frame out.

Go to their site for all the details, it's the usual sorta geometry. General light-weight, park frame stuff.
You may remember we quoted the Odyssey site about some new Jim C pedals a while back? Well, here are a couple of pics of the Trailmix pedals, as well as the new Kevlar Aitken seat. There's also a couple of shots of the new Fit sprocket and stem.

Whilst we're on Fit - the new ECCD seat is out soon, rumoured to be 8.3oz with Ti rails. $80? No thanks. This is one of the early pics of the proto:

Speaking of, Chase Dehart's got an interview on The Come Up.
Fit have also got some new news up about the DLD and DLR stems:

Apparently the reason for having a low stem is that it means you can get a lower front end without having to run lower bars. Kinda sounds fair enough, I suppose...
FBM's new Joint frame is out real soon:

And FBM's Aaron Ross has mad pop:

Haro have a new frame out soon, called The Convert. It's your pretty standard BMX frame, apart from the nice little details like removable brake bosses that you can either run on the seat- or chain-stays, or not at all. Screw in cable-guides too, so if you ARE brakeless you've got a nice clean frame, without the hassle of the age old "Sawed my lugs off, no-one wants my frame now" selling on dilemma. Vital have all the info.
Here's a UGP Florida Tour trip video.
BMXOnline have a couple of vids up from the JomoPro comp.
Right now, that's gonna be it. I think I've forgotten some stuff, so if I have I'll edit it in and bulletin y'all about it. Gotta go for now though.
Enjoy...

I'll edit this up to the full news when I do it, but for now, a teaser...
Why is Carlos upset?

Whose drinks are these?

Why is Joel being tricked around in a carpark?

Why is Joel standing on an Armco barrier by someone's Ford Scorpio?

Where did Dan take this awesome photo?

How did this ever work out?

Where's Milly going, and who does she belong to?

And lastly, why was Joel pulling this face in the middle of Southampton's red light district (as featured on Crimewatch UK...), at 11pm?

No news this week.
...only joking.
It'd be kinda rude not to start off this shenanigans without a huge "CONGRATULAMATIONS" to Mr. Joel Nicholls, for picking up his sponsorship deal with Fit UK and Animal UK through 4down (who are supplying him with the goods through Pijin). Joel is on a flow setup with the two companies, and will hopefully be cruising Trowbo, Brizzle and Soton aboard a spangly new Fit Series 3 Aitken frame with a smattering of cut-price A. Bike Co parts. Should be good!
While we're on the vague subject of Fit - Fit news!
Chase Hawk, as many people should know, is one of the smoothest riders out there, combining big hips, brakelessness, and a trails upbringing to create a mad-flowy style. When you combine his usual 1,000mph speed at everything, his trademark smoothness, and those jumps from So Freestyle, you're left with a pretty swanky Fox advert. To be honest, you all need to watch this whether you're into dirt/Chase Hawk or not, it's just that ridiculous. When you see Chase hit the jumps, then see everyone else, you realise that he really is going twice as fast and twice as high as everyone else. Oh, and be sure to check out Mike Aitken stepping up to the plate with his mission to fastplant everything everywhere with a fastplant over a double? Kudos for raping a pair of Wombolts too. Not the first set to die, most definitely not the last...
If I haven't convinced you of Chase Hawk's full-blown radness, will Joe Rich or Dave Mirra? Courtesy of the guys over at Woozy. Not entirely feeling the new site design, sadly. Woozy also have a Javier Ortega vid out, but that's not relevant to this...
If you've been to London, you'll have possibly noticed the DLR. Well, apparently, the name was so good, Fit decided to use it for one of their new stems, the Down Low Regular.

There are two stems coming out, the DLR and the Down Low Drop. To be fair, any stem's gotta be nicer to look at (and possibly stronger?) than the S3, so it's all good.
Why stop using DL? acronyms at a stem though? Why indeed. Here's the DLS, the DLSprocket.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of the other Fit sprockets either, so again, all good...
Also Fit-related, this new advert featuring Marv which is gonna be in the next Ride and Dig:

Considering how marmalised Marv got on a rail-feeble gone wrong, you'd have thought he'd have wanted to keep well away from any tricks that had a slight chance of sending him O.T.B., but no, he sent that toothy at St.Pauls.
In Fit team news, some of the Fit team have appeared in a pretty awesome new video on the Mosh site. It's a video of their trip to San Fran, it's 8 minutes long, and well worth the download. Got all the usual big name riders, e.g. Eddie Cleveland, Ian Schwartz, Chase Dehart, etc., so clickity click and get it.
Fit's flow rider Josh Hervan has a new video out on Vital, go here.
Grindstate have a cool new feature up about almost all bars out right now...
FBM have released more pics of their "Protect Ya Neck" stem:

Tight.
Federal have this cool pic up on their site, taken by Bruce Crisman (I think?) of a Brazilian rider who grew up in a shady favela, who Bruce made a documentary of. Go to the Federal site for more. Check out the candybar:

Checked out that Mosh vid yet? You really should do...
Awesome video up on V-Club at the moment, promo'ing their new Overexposed DVD. Check out that perfect hop 540 down a 5-set...
T-Nez and Brian "Got Goosed" Tunney videos up on United's site.
Apparently, producing their Classic stem in black alone wasn't good enough for Odyssey, so here it is in silver. Whoop...

Cheer...

Continuing the trend of making parts in colours you probably won't want to buy, Ody also had this to say:

The following items will be arriving in about a week or so, in small quantities:

Gold Elementary stems w/o tabs.
Silver Classic stem
Pink (not hot pink) Linear cables
I don't usually like to use emoticons on here, but to be honest, it'll sum up my feelings of them better than words:

WTP's Chester Blacksmith has the cover of the newest Ride US, holy over to double peg, Batman.

WTP have also got some more pics out of the new Mike Brennan All Day O.D. grips. Whilst the name might be pretty terrible, the idea certainly isn't:

We've covered the details before, but WTP reiterated them here.
I'm aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
...
...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall about the thin grips, so hopefully these'll do the job.
(I'm also all about that Mosh vid. Watch it!)
We haven't really covered it here that much, but Left-Right is the new video out from the States which I believe was either edited or produced by Shook's all round nice guy and general filmer/editor dude Chad Shack'. It's now available to buy in the US and possibly will be here soon if you order it from Dan's or pester someone to hook up Left-Right with a UK Distro. The Come Up have a review of it, as do Defgrip.
Demolition have a new Doyle video out. Go here to see it in all it's glory.
Mutiny have released all their new frames, including the Holdfast Burlish, the Nocturnal, and all the other little fancy colourful bits they do to make up a complete bike that'll probably help you learn that next trick. Pijin are already up on that, and as a result have the new stuff in. Word of warning: Take the Holdfast in 21"TT and I will cut your hands off.
You think I'm joking?
Carlos picked up a Burlish to replace his haggard Simple Enigma, and here she blows:

Note dents on forks and bars from bike throws. How long will the 4.8lbs Burlish last? Who knows...
Whilst we're on the subject of Mutiny, they have these weird "Man Of The Year" pics up:

Sexist or not, that's good comedy...
Going back to Pijin, they've got the new Demolition Monaco tyres in too, and they're decently light whilst not being stupidly KHE-light (541g vs. 364g/460g).

They've got a bunch of new colour-wayed Macneil stuff, and the S&M Inferno and Ice Redneck XLT stems in. They've also got a pretty rare wheel too, this bad boy:

Gonna go ahead and assume that's a Big Joel inspired bandana?
Either way, here's the skinny:
This is the 3rd and last of these wheels which we've built. The first two went to Carlos and Bonedave (and seem to be holding up!). We've been told that they have only ever made 100 of the Sun Rhyno Lite XL rims in 28 hole and we can't get anymore... So grab it while you can, it's the only one we have left! This is the 2nd lightest wheel we have ever built (The lightest being Carlos' wheel because he has titanium bolts).
- Profile Mini Front Hub (10mm bolts)
- Sun Rhyno Lite XL Rim
- 28 spoke
- Laced to 2 cross pattern
- Season have you covered. Check out this advert for more info. While I prefer a shorter stem, this may be too much even for me...
Well, we missed the April Fools day stuff that came out last weekend due to my slackness, but here's a taster of it. Haro (Don't forget, that's "Haargh-oh", not "Harrow") restored some of my respect for them and confused a hell of a lot of stupid, idiotic, gullible idiots that lurk the BMX messageboards with this, their 2009 Pale Death complete:

Just thought I would give you a look at the new 2009 Haro Lite bike named "The Pale Death".
-This bike was designed using 100% unobtanium and cutting/drilling where-ever possible (whether it made sense or not).
-We've streamlined the popular Pivotal seat system utilizing the "Base-Only" technology.
-The left side of the fork, and seat-tube have been removed to save additional weight.
-A 1 ounce crossbar has replaced that bulky, over-powering tube.
-We've removed half of the spokes in the front wheel...you don't need them anyway.
This is by far, the greatest Western based bike we've every made. Perfect for an April 1st release.
Enjoy!
tonyd.
I know what you're thinking - surely no-one would be stupid enough to believe that? Well, you'd have thought that, wouldn't you?
"a new low for the ages. this DEFINITELY beats out the low that the grim reaper set. compared to that the grim reaper looks like one of the old standard sta's lol."
-------------------------------------------------------
"I sent a message asking if it is a joke or not and what the weight of it is, hopefully they will email me back asap."
------------------------------------------------------
"this is completely redic. if it actually comes out (which i doubt) i'm going to laugh at all the kids who die riding them."
------------------------------------------------------
"too bad that's probably (and hopefully) the only one ever made so we will never know, but my guess is one decent gap and forks are gone."
That's just a selection of posts from one messageboard I actually summoned up the courage to go on to point out how stupid some people in the world can be.
*sigh*
Haro also have a Ryan Nyquist video up, and a Colin Mackay video too, but that's kinda by-the-by when they've pulled off that "Pale Death" hoax...
As we usually have a Scotty Cranmer vid here somewhere, because he hasn't produced one I'll have to post one up from Cranmer's understudy (harsh...), Garrett Reynolds. Still the same mix of good (kinda) riding and gash style, but hell, that's progression these days, apparently.
The weather's pretty much damn awesome now, so as usual, here's the DISSRM Get Out And Ride promotion:
GET OUT AND RIDE!
...and spend money at Pijin, but don't buy the Burlish Holdfast.
P.S. This blog's 1800 words long almost, that's almost the length of one of my essays for my course.
What.

Well, it's already Monday and no news from last week, so it'll be saved up for a bumper one this coming Friday.
Teasers:
Will you win the DISSRM Sweepstake for how long Carlos's Burlish lasts? Throws + skinny tubing = drama drama!
Will you have found out by that point which Soton local has been hooked up through 4Down -> Pijin with which 2 big companies (You really should be able to, otherwise you're 'tards)?
Will you have found that video of that guy wearing those skinny, skinny jeans?
Will you join the 2 Joels in getting yourself a Police warning for riding that paddling pool?
All this and more, coming up on Friday...
