There is a new interview posted up by the Swedish Metal webzine Mylastchapter.net.  The interview is compiled of questions that were sent back and forth by email over the course of a few months.  There was a 2nd group of questions sent based on the answers of the first group of questions.  Anyways, the website is Mylastchapter.net.  Click on interviews and it will be the most recent interview put up on the website.

We wanted to get together some of the videos and post them up so that you could see some of the Archetypal Transformation material performed live if you haven't been to a show. There are tons of videos and this is just the first of many so keep checking back. There will be more videos from the past added soon as well.

June 15, 2009 - Monday
Salutes all! We have returned from our summer festival shows and a few others. A few weeks ago we did a round of shows of which included a fest in St. Louis at Pops which had some very cool promoters and bands. The other bands we played with were of many different styles which is great in some since and not so great in others if you know what I mean. Also we did Battle Creek, Michigan at the Michigan Deathfest which was killer. Lots of friends and good times there. Metal mom worked her ass off as the promoter for that one and treated us very well. There are new pics posted up from that show that turned out really nice. Next, off to Chicago on a Sunday night.
This past weekend, we just did the Indianapolis Necro Fest which was put on by Dano whom worked his ass off for the fest. He brought out Estuary which are some extremely awesome people and musicians in the band to say the least..Cardiac Arrest who ripped it up and are also some good friends of ours were at that one. The guys from Abominant played the preshow whom we missed and looked forward to seeing but will catch em soon. Dano also brought the mighty Acheron from Florida and HOD from Texas who drove 25 hours to brand everyone's souls with their form of darkness...Salutes to those guys for the journey up which definitely says a lot about them and there dedication. After playing the fest we decided to stick around for a few extremely stout drinks and off to the hotel to return South in the morning. So as we move to the next stage the next album gets my full attention without being divided amongst days not at work and not playing shows. Anyone we have seen on the road, definitely write us and keep in touch. Thats it for now!

Oh yeah! A week or so ago someone hacked the password from the page and there was a message sent about some candid video that we have of everyone and some strange music playing on the page but it was just bullshit of course and is now taken care of...just so you know. Thanks for the interest and support...Horns UP!

Lyrics from the song “Arcane Stellar Firmament” on the album “Archetypal Transformation”

Encompassed in the space and time of the universe
The cycle of the stellar life and how all that is has formed
Through evolution of the stars the iron in blood was forged

Earth, Penultimate substance, the goddess brought forth from the death of
Air, The breath and the life, the soul follows from the death of fire
Ignite the destruction, catalyst of creation, extinguished by
Water, but for the cycle to complete the elements in the sphere must be five

In the cosmic dark age at the dawn of time is the cycle of all that was to come
Hindsight shows this epoch’s answers written in the stars by a hand that wields the origin of the dark

Returning from whence we came. From the womb of space we are born.
Seen through eyes of internal force  By this oath we are sworn.
Ages have past through my visions inhabit myriad forms.
Evolution of symbolic truth brought by the knowledge newfound

The founding of the hidden sense buried deep in thought and mind.
As though there were no signs of strength somewhere rooted in our kind.

Enlightened by the voyage to feel the passing of this mystic stage
Dimly lit, the chamber walls extend.  Limitless passage to the gates of dreams, of death, of astral travel

By the guide of this realization the basic formulas form the divine.
Primordial keys to this world’s formation, On the horizon the dusk sets for all time
The serpent that sits and awaits as its prey becomes the night which darkens the day.
All in the realm of potential was forged in blood by sacrifice in life.
Taken into the death and beyond our dimension’s core
The sorcerer in the crypt of the cosmic levels binding the spectrum of travel
Disappearing, the world as we know it All information absorbed. The growth into the spiral void, Erasing the meaning, Embracing the feeling

April 26, 2009 - Sunday
Its been about a month since the first post was made that the new material has been developing.  I have been working with my home recording equipment building some demos through writing guitar parts, bass parts, and arranging riffs.  Amongst these sections I am laying down some lyrical ideas and vocal arrangements.  The solos are working out as well but there are some transitional sections that I am still performing surgery on.   Matt Barnes came over to my place a few days ago and we sat together discussing a transitional part along with some solo ideas.   Our regular rehearsals in the room have been going quite well also.    Most of the time in the rehearsal room has been spent preparing for the upcoming shows with a set so we will be playing some older Neutrality tunes as well as Archetypal songs.  There may be time to get a brand new song down for the upcoming shows but we will see..Just to update you all on how the new material is coming along its moving solid and at just the right pace...beware its coming!

Very soon we will be traveling up to Michigan Death Fest to co-headline with our pals Kelly, Aantar and Diabolic then over to Chicago to play a followup show before heading back South to return to the new material.    And just to drop a little unannounced information on whomever decided to venture into this blog...There is a show in the works for May 29th (the night before the Michigan Death Fest) in St. Louis at Pop's Concert venue.    I should know by next week.  Thats pretty exciting to me.  Its a nice place.  I saw Megadeth and Exodus there in a wall to wall crowd.  I couldn't even lift my arms up and then put them back down to my sides without a squeeze...haha, a pit of sweat to say the least.  but a great time.  Anyways, when the St. Louis show is confirmed it will be posted on the shows section , of course.

Usually I am not as verbal or open about this publically but you know, what the hell...Seek out new information from all sources.  The most easliy found information from all of the outlets that surround is definitely not thought productive or free.  To me this is obvious.   A suppresion of informative and enlightening thought has stricken  the daily lives of some people.  I think that it is evident that we as humans have to stay connected with the growth of our spiritual being.  A connection with this force and the knowledge that comes with it is the way to conquer and be individually or collectively prosperous.  Poisonous information and popular idea spread a very potent venom.  Everywhere we turn there are prescribed synthetic drugs that supposedly heal but in turn cause problems and addiction.  I don't care who takes whatever but what kind of decisions  of power are being made as to what the masses are going to be surrounded by?  The balance between human health and natural cures with a little exercise is amazing.  Be informed.  Not to say bad things about all Western medicine definitely but there is financially fuelled motivation surrounding a vast majority. In another aspect,  panic is spread daily in media which induces a form of poison in its own.  Garbage food is mass produced to people to sell in mass quantity which in turn sickens and poisons.  This is not to mention the ridiculousness of the subject matter of television and a lot of music that is surely and confidently broadcast all of over the world while most enlightening information and thoughtful sources are often left to be sought out by the ones who seek it.  It sickens me to see such a waste.   The poison is everywhere and it seems to remain strong there has to be a will power to defeat this.  Remaining focused and untainted of this that is so easily surrounding is the escape.   I want to have more hope for the masses but the potential diminishes.  This is why I believe that these aspects of detriment have to be put in a specific place and the connection with the cosmos and our natural surrounding must remain in tact...How long can we last without it spilling over into the people who are informed?  Just reaching out a little.  Feel free to leave your comments..  Cheers to you all my comrades!
Somewhat unrelated but pick up your phones and dial (973) 409-3274...Give it a shot...I will let you figure out why...  See you at Maryland Death Fest and on the road May 29th, 30th and June 1st.

Thanks for your support and Best to you!

Quinta Essentia - Archetypal transformation CD

Genre: Black/death/thrash metal

Origin: USA

Released: 2008

Website: Quinta Essentia

Label: Deathgasm Records

Uploaded: 18.02.09

So, the second album by these American lads, and the follow-up to Neutrality for defined chaos, an album I liked but didn’t love. But they’ve had a couple of years to develop and mature, which they certainly have. With Archetypal transformation they present a talented band with a nack for writing complex and diverse metal.

It doesn’t take more than half a second before my interest kicks in,
just the opening riffing gets my attention. And before the first minute
is over I’m in awe. This is so bloody rad! Black, thrash and death
metal are being widely thrown about. Not a single track go by without
major tempo changes, as the frantic blasting suddenly slows down into
(still frantic) technicality, just to turn into a hellish break with
clean vocals chilling your spine. The ferocious scream carries such a
freaking raspy undertone, and when it switches into the sudden clean
outbursts I get goosebumps. And I’m still just on the first track,
which just switched into a mid-tempo, old school thrash guitar solo-bit…

This is nothing short of killer. I’m extremely impressed by the natural
flow, no matter which direction the song takes. There are so many
different aspects to the music, so many different tempos, such cool
ideas, awesome vocals, wicked riffing, mind-blowing drumming… It’s like
taking Belphegor, Kult Ov Azazel, Behemoth, Deicide and Impious
all in one. I can’t really explain it, but with all the aspects taken
into consideration this is one diverse album, that flows
oh-so-naturally. I can’t but recommend this to any fan of complex,
technical and brutal metal.

Tracklist:

01. Venom of the pernicious

02. The universal longing

03. Absent illumination (the transgressor)

04. Formative evasion

05. Forgotten but not undreamt

06. Arcane stellar firmament

07. Instinctual human descension

Quinta Essentia have not been around for very long but they're building an impressive repetoire of music. They issued their first album, Neutrality for Defined Chaos, two years ago.   Quinta Essentia represented a new breed of extreme metal being released by Deathgasm Records. Despite the departure of the extraordinarily talented guitarist Thom Mathews, members Jason Flippo (vocals, guitars, bass) and Matt Barnes (guitars), along with bassist Matt Odom and drummer Lance Wright pick up the slack and deliver a complex album of metal.

I don't know what Quinta Essentia does. It's technical and melodic but extreme enough to bounce between black metal and death metal- of course, thrash and progressive metal can be found within as well. Even Jason's vocals range from extreme to melodic and clean. Quinta Essentia is one of those bands that can make music memorable. Even on the more extreme songs can have a shredding guitar solo or a melodic ending that won't leave your head. There's a mystical vibe to "Formative Evasion" and there's even a space metal track in "Forgotten But Not Undreampt." There are times when I'm reminded of the Dave Mustaine/ Marty Friedman guitar tandem from Rust in Peace. That's how impressive these guys are.
