One of her many career highlights includes being part of the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic soccer team in 2004!   To stress importance of living an active and healthy Lifestyle, Heather invited Girl Talk to her soccer camp this past summer to discuss the choices and consequences of underage drinking.

Hey Everyone,

As I was going through my morning routine, I came across an article in the Washington Post that I couldn't help but want to share with you. It's simply amazing to think about how far technology has come; technology is now considered therapeutic.  Through the creation of avatars and popular avatar programs, the virtual world is helping people fight their diseases and live with their disabilities.  Avatars allow people to create identities to how they see fit: free of diseases, disabilities, or problems. Creating these new identities enables people to enrich their live by doing things in the virtual they could only dream of in real life. 

In addition to helping individual patients, virtual worlds are being used to train doctors, to test first responders, educate the public and raise money. The March of Dimes, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and The American Cancer Society are a few of the organizations already taking advantage of this virtual world and are profiled in the article.
