Twas the day of Christmas and out on the track was the sound of cars running in a tight pack
With hammers for feet the engines did roar heading to the line fans screaming more, more, more
Driving into turn one the cars they did fly the Feature was on as the Hoosier's did fry
The Feature roared on as the crowd did arise the smell of the racing fuel burning their eyes
The final lap was approaching the move had to be made now the cars out of the turn all suddenly did plow
As the tension began to grow there was only half a lap left cars bumping cars door to door but just hang on one sec
From out of nowhere on the high side jumped the 46 and passed everyone by
The fans were on there feet and screamed with such glee that it was such an awesome race that everyone just did see
In the interview Whaley did say the car was on a rail we had a really great day
And as the drivers and fans went out of sight Whaley proclaimed in a big heavy voice Merry Christmas to all, See you next Saturday Night!!!!

Talladega Alabama, what else needs to be said. When spoken these 2 words invoke a sense of laid back southern rock rebel style....and oh yeah the Worlds Fastest Track. Not to mention the home of the Alabama Gang. The drivers unloaded and the surprise was the 63 of Jeremiah Bowling. Bowling was the fastest in the final practice session followed by Mitch Roberts and Whaley.
When Qualifying was done it was the 21 Ghost Rider Silverado of Tony Bowling grabbing the pole with a time of 50.966 around the 2.66 miler. The race for the most part was pretty uneventful. The only wreck of the night was on lap 4 when the 63 of Jeremiah Bowling got into the 60 of Thomas Christ. The race really didn't heat up till 5 to go. Earlier in the race the 85 of Malone had slid up the track and got into the side of Whaley forcing him to scrape the wall but no damage was incurred. Deja-vu struck when 5 to go the 17 of Roberts did the same thing and again Whaley somehow managed to hang on and save it. With 1 to go Whaley tucked in behind Gibson and was layn the front bumper of his Hemi powered Ram on the tailgate of the G.M.S. Silverado. Going into turn 3 Whaley made his move. He went in high then turned it down low to get a run of the banking and undercut Gibson. Whaley was getting a push from the lap down truck of Roberts. This would have given Whaley the win if it were Daytona, but the is Talladega and the start finish line is at the end of the straight heding into turn1. At the last secon Roberts jumps to the high side and pushes Gibson to the win. When Roberts was questioned at the end of the race about his sudden move he replied "I needed to get past Jim for position!" When Whaley was told what was said he replied with "I wasn't aware that a lap down truck could get a position on a lead lap truck....guess I was wrong...Congrats to the G.M.S. Team!" Whaley declined any further comment and entered the R-n-J Motorsports Hauler. This was Gibson's 2nd win this season and continues the stranglehold on plate tracks and Team Championships. Whaley couldn't pull any points on Malone this week due to not leading a lap. So the points chase remains a paltry 24 points seperating 1st and 2nd and 3rd is just 65 points out. With 5 races left it's anybody's title. Be with us in 2 weeks as the Monday night Madness drivers take on Martinsville!!!!

Welcome Race Fans to Bristol Motor Speedway. The world's fastest half mile. Last night the "M-n-M" series drivers were at the high banked half mile known as "Thunder Valley." This is a very tough track and very hard to pass at. The bump and run is well known and needed here to succeed. Qualifying got under way and as usual it was the Trevor Malone show. Malone ripped around the half mile bullring at a time of 16.387 followed closely by Bowling at a 16.397. Michael Campbell was 3rd followed by Whaley and Gibson to tound out the top 5 in Qualifying.
The race got under way and drivers were tiptoeing around untill the tire pressures would come in and their trucks would set in. The first of only 5 cautions came out on lap 14 when the 43 Bad Frog Beer Silverado of George Vincent slipped up a little and got into the 31 Lays Silverado of Gary Rousseau and backed it into the wall. Neither truck was seriously damaged and continued on. There were a several self spins including 2 by current points leader Jim Whaley Jr. There were several long green flag laps which is unusual for Bristol. The action really started to heat up with 20 to go. Whaley was running Bowling down but hot on Whaley's tailgate was Malone who had been the dominant truck till a late pit stop put him back in the field. Malone tried everything but Whaley didn't make any mistakes and was reeling Bowling in with every lap. With 7 to go Malone drove his truck way to far in and slid the truck to the wall and did a miraculous job saving it. With 2 to go Whaley saw his chance. As Bowling entered turn 1 he missed it and was all over trying to save it and not lose it with just 7 corners left for certain victory. Whaley seeing this jumped hard on the throttle, but jumped too hard as he too kicked his truck sideways trying to get to Bowlings bumper. Whaley kept the onslaught on but just ran out of laps as Bowling brought the Ghost Rider Silverado home for his second win of the season and closed to within 64 of the lead.
The O'Reilly 125 Top 5: 21 Tony Bowling (Ghost Rider) 46 Jim Whaley Jr (R-n-J Motorsports) 85 Trevor Malone (Todd Mack) 28 Mike Gibson (GMS) 43 George Vincent (Bad Frog Beer)
The next race is Gateway International Which is a 1.250 flat track which Malone and Gibson are kings of, but don't count out whaley as he is the King of short and flat tracks, and you can never count out Bowling who is the king of yellows and often capitalizes on mistakes. Any way you split it the action is heating up and the racing is getting down and dirty. Come check out all the racing action!!!

As the fans came through the gate at Spencer Speedway, there was a buzzing of smack talking goin on about whose driver was better than the other's. It was almost comical at best. Kids running around underneath the stands and lining up at the candy counter or the souvenir stand let's you know that it's all about fun. Then there was mas hysteria and fans and children were running rampant as Mike Gibson & Tony Bowling came throught the pit gate to enter the "General Admission" area to see some fans and sign some autographs. They stayed and did a little Q & A session with the fans which let you know, that these drivers got it. They understand that they're heroes or villians dependant upon the choices made on the track. It's what the fans don't see that sets the drivers as a family and fraternity off the track. It is what makes it.....Saturday Night Thunder Racing.
The P.A. speakers crackle and then start to buzz as they explode with "Aaaaannnnnnnnd NOW it's time for SAAAAturdaaayyy Night Thunder. On the pole with a time of 21.038. The number 21 American Racing Wheels Chevrolet Camaro....Toooonnnnyyyy BOWLINNNNNGG! Clocking in with the 2nd fastest lap is the 28 Gibson Motorsports Ford Mustang og Mike Git-r-Done Gibson. With a time of 21.152 The 46 Bob's Arco Plymouth Barracuda of Jim Whaley Jrrrrrrrr! Annnd rounding out the dash with a time of 21.241 is the 85 Pontiac Firebird of Trevor MALOOOOOnnne. Dash Carsss LIIIIINNE EMMM Up!!!!"
The "Dash Cars" got out onto the track to let it all out for 4 hardcore, let it all hang out, take no prisoner laps, and it would be just that. The green waves and the four barrel into turn 1. Bowling and Whaley on the inside and Gibson and Malone on the outside. Since the inside line was the preferred way around this very tight 1/2 miler, you knew the advantage would go to Bowling and Whaley. Bowling came out on top and Whaley was trying to not get into him as well as hold Gibson at bay. The first two laps were pretty uneventful, but Whaley and Gibson turned up the flame. When it was signaled that there were two more laps the battle ensued. Whaley was putting his bumper right on Bowling and Gibson was doing the same to Whaley. Exiting turn 4 on the last lap Whaley had a nose underneath Bowling but couldn't get the rear wheels to stick coming off the corner and Bowling held him off for the Dash win.

Heat 1 saw nothing that was really unexpected. At the drop of the green heading into turn 1 the 20 of Walters rearended Billy Fuller in the 74, meanwhile the 092 Gasho Trucking Camaro of Clayton Stokes was mauling the 43 Cuda of George Vincent, but it all came to a head when on the last lap Stokes just touched Vincent's rear bumber in the center of 3 & 4 and sent Vincent around. Stokes would manage to get the win and the review board saw no evidence of reckless or aggressive driving. So the win stood.

Heat 2 saw all the "Big Guns" in it so this race truly could be anyones. It was a dog fight between Bowling, Gibson, Malone and Whaley, but with 3 to go Whaley got into the back of Malone and sent Malone around handing the win to Gibson.

The Feature was the next race up and with all the big boys in the very back we could possibley see a new 1st time winner or a winner that hasn't won in awhile. Neither of those scenario's came to fruition as the night was filled with yellow after yellow during the first half of the race. It took it's toll especially hard on championship contender Mike Gibson as he lost 2nd place in the standings due to his almost last place finish. This was not his fault however. Malone and Bowling were battling it out for the lead when both cars got a little loose off of turn 4. Both corrected but there just was not enough room ans Malone came down and Bowling moved up. This is where the carnage took place. Malone put his Firebird head on into the outside wall just passed the start fininish line. Gibson managed to miss him and spun off the track to what everyone would assume was far enough from harms way that he would continue....wrong! As Malone was sitting on the front stretch the 43 of Vincent had no where to go and pummeled Malone sending him over on his roof. He slid all the way to where Gibson was and then hit Gibson and flipped over and landed on Gibson effectively ending both of their night's. Several other cars were involved to receive damage but would soldier on....for the most part. On lap 44 The green flag waived and Whaley was right behind Bowling. In typical Whaley restart fashion he hammered it at the right time and got inside of Bowling heading into turn 1. Bowling could do nothing and had to settle back in line behind Whaley. This would prove to be the move of the race. Only 2 more caution interrupted the racing action. One was a self spin, the other was the 20 of Walters again gettin Fuller and ending his night. Bowling did everything possible to rattle Whaley and make a mistake, but The wiley veteran never paid attention to Bowling and just drove to get his 2nd straight Feature win of the season and career 21st.

Spencer Speedway Top 5: 1st. 46 Jim Whaley Jr (Cuda) 2nd. 21 Tony Bowling (Camaro) 3rd. 06 Greg Artlip (Mustang) 4th. 43 George Vincent (Cuda) 5th. 20 Terry Walters (Mustang)
The drivers are heading north of the border in 2 weeks to Cayuga Speedway. Come join all the racing action!!

Fans were lined up for miles watching the parade of haulers entering their town of Bakersfield as the S.N.T.R. drivers entered Mesa Marin Speedway. This was stop number 4 on the 10 race "Summer Sizzler Series" After all the haulers unloaded many noticed there were several cars missing as well as the points leader Tony Bowling. It was later learned that when Bowling went to put the 21 American Racing Wheels Camaro into the hauler the engine let go. The new motor that they were building was not ready yet. So they did what any race team would do in this situation. They threw a keg party, ordered Arby's and hired strippers. After hot laps as usual Gibson and Malone were atop the speed charts. There were several drivers stepping it up in practice that usually aren't that high on the charts. So it was going to be interesting to see how qualifying was going to play out. When the dust settled all were gasping at the outcome. Whaley came out of nowhere with his retro 46 Bob's Arco Plymouth Cuda to sit as "Fast Qualifier" with a time of 17.770. The other thing that got everyones attention was who wasn't at the top, or anywhere near it for that matter. Mike Gibson who usually is either "Top Qualifier" or 2nd was no where to be seen on the charts. A communication breakdown on when he was to qualify is blamed for this issue. So Gibson would have to start from the very back. That's not a problem for this driver. The other notable was Terry Walters. The 20 Shaner's Towing driver turned everyones head with the 4th fastest time to earn his way into the Dash.
The top 5 Qualifiers: 46 Jim Whaley Jr 17.770 85 Trevor Malone 17.784 06 Greg Artlip 17.919 20 Terry Walters 18.198 74 Billy Fuller 18.249
The Dash race was pretty uneventful as Whaley led all 4 laps to take his first Dash this season.

The slow heat was the next up on the card for the night. The action happened fast and early as there was a controversey on a no call that many felt should had been made, but wasn't. On the first lap entering turn 3 the 6 of Darcy Rutherford got hard into the back of Clayton Stokes in the 092 Gasho Trucking Camaro. This sent Stokes spinning around and backing hard into the wall. This was deemed a legit racing accident as it was a difference in braking points. Two laps later Rutherford struck again as he took out the leader again. Gary Roussea in the 31 Sunoco Race Fuels Chevelle had cleared the carnage that Rutheford had instigated and took the lead. However as was stated 2 laps later entering turn 1 Rutherford struck again. Rousseau was entering turn 1 and Rutherford just dive bombed him. There was no way for Rousseau to know he was there because it happened so fast. Rutherford was where Rousseau couldn't see him and Rutherford made contact and sent Rousseau spinnig around. This was the no call that many expected to be called. Rutherford should have been blacked for "Aggressive & Reckless " driving but wasn't. Needless to say Rutherford got his first win of the season but albeit somewhat controversial.

Heat 2 provided "Hot, Nasty Badass Speed" and insane racing action, but it to had a call that should have been made that wasn't. Terry Walters was on the pole and was supposed to set the pace. But entering turn 3 he went from 35 to 60 before the green dropped and by leaps and bounds jumped the start. It was so obvious that Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could have seen it. The fans were speechless that it wasn't flagged and restarted. Never the less the race was let go and then it was the big names goin at it hot & heavy. Walters got out to a big lead from the jump but about 8 laps later his bumper and mirror were full. Whaley was right behind him ans Malone on the outside of Whaley. For 10 laps this went on with Whaley having no place to go and constantly trying to fend off Malone, but also trying to not run over Walters who was making all kinds of mistakes due to the pressure. Whaley lost it with 4 to go and Malone got around Walters to take away what would have been Walters first ever heat win. Coincidently Walters and Malone are team mates at G.M.S.......can we say Busch & Gordon?

It was Feature time and driver introductions were given along with the command to fire up the engines. The Feature really didn't have too many high points for some drivers, but for 2 in particular it was what we always see.....patience and intelligence. Two things that drivers must have on tough tracks, and it showed that tonight it would pay off to those that possed it. Gibson and Whaley masterfully worked traffic all night and worked from the back to 1st and 2nd before the "Competition Yellow" was thrown. They entered pit row 1st and 2nd respectively. As usual though there was a curve ball thrown. Greg Artlip in the 06 Castrol GTX Mustang took fuel only and came out in 1st. Whaley and his crew were miracoulous as they somehow edged Gibson on exit of pit row. When the green flew Artlip just launched off into turn 1 and was driving like no one has seen him before. This track is close to Artlip as Stockton is his hometown. Artlip had to know that not taking tires would be his downfall, but as racers we sometimes don't think decisions all the way through , which proved to be the point in Artlip's case. It would still be good enough for a 6th place finish for him. Whaley was patient and methodical as he stalked Artlip as well as keeping Gibson at bay. Finally Artlip pushed up entering turn 3 and Whaley and Gibson turned their beasts hard left to get under him and would make the pass. Gibson tried everything he could without wrecking him to get by, but Whaley just powered on to get his 1st Feature of the season and 20th of his career. Gibson was quoted saying after the race "Jim wasn't holding me up, I could get to him but couldn't get anything goin. I wasn't gonna try anything stupid...probably woulda ended up 3rd or taken us both out."

Next week the drivers ar off but return in 2 weeks to the flat and tight turns of Spencer Speedway. Stay tuned race fans it's only gonna get better from here on out.
The Summer Sizzler Series top 5 from Mesa Marin: 1st. 46 Jim Whaley Jr (Bob's Arco) 2nd. 28 Mike Gibsob (GMS) 3rd. 6 Darcy Rutherford 4th. 85 Trevor Malone 5th. 31 Gary Rousseau (Sunoco Race Fuels)

Monday night the "Monday night Madness" Series drivers pulled into Sparta Kentucky for the "Built Ford Tough 100 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers." It was a crisp, cool, calm evening as the fans settled in and qualifying got under way. The usual suspects were atop the leader board in practice with Malone leading the way. There were two surprises however also. The 101 Brew Thru Silverado of Michael Campbell and Gary Rousseau in the 31 Lays Silverado. Both of these drivers were showing exceptional speed in practice running 2nd and 4th respectively.
Qualifying got under way and it was last week's winner snapping heads around. Whaley in the 46 Hemi powered R-n-J Motorsport Dodge Ram Blew away the Truck Track Record by 4/10's that was set by Bryan Reffner in 2000, and was only 2/10's off of the Busch record set by Jay sauter in 2001. He was over 3/10's faster than the second place qualifier Malone. When asked about his mammoth Qualifying effort Whaley had this to say "My crew and I have really been falling down on Qual attempts with the exception of last week. So we knew it was an area of improvement we really, really had to work on. We really had it set to run almost wide open. People don't believe me but my telemetry would prove it. I just had to burp it a hair in the center of 1 & 2 but it was to the floor in 3 & 4. I abut tore the wall down on exit of 4 both laps." he said laughingly.
Here are your top 5 Qualifiers: 1st 46 Whaley 31.621 2nd 85 Malone 31.941 3rd 28 Gibson 31.962 4th 13 Smith 31.992 5th 21 Bowling 32.019
The first 18 laps had 3 yellows wave for just 6 laps. The last caution every truck pitted except the 85 of Malone & the 13 of Scott Smith. Malone expected another yellow to wave, so he gambled to get track position. What a gamble it would be. On the last restart of the race there were 62 laps left. Malone was at the point with Whaley in 4th. The flag waved and Whaley went to the outside of Rousseau in the 31. Scott Smith in the 13 JB's Fixit Silverado attempted to go to the outside to make a pass on Malone entering turn 1. Malone would put it into turn 1 a little harder than he expected, and on cold tires he would be really loose and not be able to get on the gas. This allowed Whaley to go for broke and go all the way to the point by the middle of turn 1 & 2. That would be the last caution as the last 62 laps would go green. The gamble for Malone would not pay off as he and Smith would have to pit with 20 to go. Whaley had pulled out to an almos 7 second lead over Gibson and Campbell, but those 2 drafted and would close in on Whaley. The two drafted until Gibson had to let Campbell go as he was faster due to Gibson getting too close to the wall on his pitstop, and couldn't get left side tires. Campbell closed the gap to 2.2 seconds but eventually fell back to 3.91 as he started to run out of fuel exiting turn 4 on the last lap. When asked about the win Whaley had this to say "Really the truck wasn't that good. We just had an awesome pitstop and we took care of our stuff." Asked if he was worried about Campbell and Gibson or running out of fuel, he rplied with "Well you always have to worry bout Gibson...Campbell puts together a good run every now and then and today he was really good from unloading. I was pretty confident though that they would use their stuff up just trying to get to me. They did a helluva job though cutting almost 5 seconds I think it was....or something like that. I just was very smooth on the pedal the whole run so i knew i would have enough fuel....i was worried bout tire wear but man we had awesome tire wear. It really surprised me. I knew we wer gonna be about a lap better on fuel than most everyone though, cause in practice we couldn't stay with anyone comin off the corners, but we would be on their bumper going into the corner. So I knew we were a little bit off on our gear, but hey it paid off. I just wanna say thanks to all my fans and look out...you ain't seen nothing yet."
You really have to believe what he say's because when you look at his stats they're mind boggling. In 5 races he has 3 wins, and his worst finish so far is 5th at Michigan. Out of a total of 517 laps he has led 283 which is a 54.4 percentage of all laps run, and 1 pole. So as you can see it is going to take something bad to happen to him on his quest for his eighth title. Malone could get on a hot streak but 98 points out with just 5 races in isn't boding well for him. There are 12 races to go before a driver will be crowned so anything can happen from now till then.
Built Ford Tough 100 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers Top 5: 1st. Jim Whaley Jr (R-n-J Motorsports) 2nd. Michael Campbell (G.M.S.) 3rd. Mike Gibson (G.M.S.) 4th. Tony Bowling (Tiger Racing) 5th. Trevor Malone (G.M.S.)
The drivers have next week off and then head to O'reilly Raceway Park (Formerly IRP) This Saturday the "Summer Sizzler Series heads to Bakersfield to Mesa Marin Speedway. So come out and root for your favorite driver.

Well another gorgeous night of racing took place in the land of the "King." The M-n-M Series driver unloaded thier Truxx at Memphis Motosports Park in Memphis Tennessee. All the fans were talking about last week's win where Bowling was clearly the class of the field; and all Whaley could do was just not go a lap down in 2nd. This week however was very, very different. Bowling seemed to be fast in the first practice session but was way off the pace in the second session. This week all eyes were on Darcy Rutherford in the 6 GM Goodwrench Silverado. He was the fastest in all the practice sessions by 2/10's or more. Whaley just couldnt find a handle on his 46 R-n-J Motorsports Hemi Ram. He looked at times as if he didn't know how or remember how to drive. Gibson and Malone however were right atop the time charts as usual.
Qualifying time came about and everyone in the garage area was pointing to Rutherford in the 6. However, that's why Qualifying is there, because the expected didn't happen. Rutherford qualified a disappointing 5th almost a half second off of what he had been running earlier. No surprise though that the 85 Todd Mack Silverado of Malone took the top spot with a time of 22.563. The real surprise of the session was Whaley. He clocked in at 3rd and just edged Bowling by .018's of a second. So at the end of qualifying these were your top 5: 85 Trevor Malone: 22.563 28 Mike Gibson: 22.607 46 Jim Whaley Jr: 22.762 21 Tony Bowling: 22.780 6 Darcy Rutherford: 22.862
After the "National Anthem" was sung, the command to fire the engines was given, and there was a thunderous uproar from the crowd as 10,000 horses were unleashed. Malone would lead the field to the green. The green flew and they were off into turn 1. Whaley got by Gibson, but it was Malone out front. Malone would lead with Whaley hot on his tail untill lap 13 when Malone got too hot and heavy going into turn 1. He did a remarkable job of hanging onto it, but the faux paux allowed Whaley to get by and take off. Whaley would average and maintain a 1.8 second advantage at all times while leading. Rutherford made a charge at Whaley but on lap 19 disaster struck. Going down the backstretch Rutherford hit the openng in the backstretch wall that is used for emegency vehicles. It completely ripped off the right front of the truck and ended his night. It's not known if a tire went down that led to the violent crash or just a slight miscalculation on the drivers part. After lap 45 it went caution free and no one could touch or stay with Whaley. At times Malone would look like he could almost get there, but it seemed Whaley would pour it on again. Whaley would get his 2nd win of the season and extend his points lead. The 2nd place showing of Malone leaped him from 4th to 2nd in the standings. Next week the M-n-M Series driver's head to the mile and a half Kentucky Speedway. Here's your O'reilly 100 top 5:
46 Jim Whaley Jr (R-n-J Motorsports) 85 Trevor Malone (Todd Mack) 28 Mike Gibson (GMS) 21 Tony Bowling (Ghost Rider) 101 Michael Campbell (Brew-Thru Drive-Thru)

The drivers unloaded their haulers and the fans packed the stands for another exciting night of racing at Milwaukee Night. All eyes would be on the #85 Pontiac Firebird of Trevor Malone to see if he could make it 2 in a row. He wouldn't disappoint as he was the fastest qualifier at a time of 30.305.
The Dash consisted of Malone, the 46 of Whaley, the 28 of Gibson, and making his first Dash appearance the #13 JB's Fixit Cuda of Scott Smith. The green dropped and Whaley charged hard on the outside to beat Malone out of the corner. Everything was looking good for Whaley except on the exit of 2 he got on the gas too hard and put it in the wall. This left Malone unchallenged to pick up the Dash win.
In the slow heat it was pretty boring unless you were driving the #31 Sunoco Fuels Chevelle like Gary Rousseau was. In flawless fashion Rousseau cruised to a very easy Heat win.
Heat 2 saw the "Ground Pounders" in action as the 46 led them to the flag. Whaley took off and never looked back as Bowling and Gibson were mixing it up behind him with Gibson taking 2nd.
The Feature was next up and the drivers were anxious to get it under way. The announcer called the lineup out and Bowling led them to the line in his #21 American Racing Wheels Camaro. It didn't take long for the yellow to fly as Greg Artlip in the 06 Castrol Mustang lost it out of turn 4. Lap 10 brought out another yellow as Billy Fuller lost it in turn 1 collecting Gibson and Whaley. Both recovered and moved on. The big one happened on lap 19 when the 101 Chevell of Michael Campbell lost it on exit of turn 2 and collected the 46 of Whaley along with several other cars. While Whaley bounced off the wall he swung back into the main line and all hell broke loose. Artlip in the 06 creamed Whaley's passenger door and sent him barrel rolling down the entire backstretch. Meanwhile Artlip hit Whaley so hard that it flipped him and the Shaner's Towing Mustang of Walters actually went under Artlip. Gibson spun getting just a piece of Whaley as well as the 13 of Scott smith. Malone worked his way around all of the carnage....for now. When interviewed Whaley had this to say: "Man, that car shoulda never been there. The ass end shoulda kept goin around which woulda let me go by high which is where I was gonna go. But he got on the binders and the ass end grabbed and drug him laterally to the wall. I had no where to go and couldn't do anything at that point.....was just along for the ride. It was unfortunate though and I hate it for my guys. We had on eo f the fastest cars and had somethin for the 21, but other people had other ideas.....lol nothin we could do!"
Just before the mandatory competition yellow the last accident and yellow of the night flew as the 31 of Rousseau and Malon tangled ending Malone's night. The 20 of Walters got loose out of turn 2 and over corrected and went in to the wall. Rousseau saw what was going on and started his evasive maneuvering. Malone waited till the last possible second and then made a hard left and the bumpers of Malone and Rousseau touched and sent both drivers spinning. Malone got the worse of end of it but Rousseau wouldn't make it too much longer.
After the Competition yellow, the race went 48 laps green till the end with the 21 of Bowling cruising to an easy victory. Congratulations goes out to the 21 team on a very clean effort for the night and just showed how a clean race car....usually is a winning racecar. Untill 2 weeks from now at Mesa Marin....race hard........race safe......but just bring it home yo.....!

Well the haulers pulled in and unloaded their cargo being the thunderous herd of race truxx of the "Monday night Madness" series. The racing was tough and fierce as drivers were duking it out for every single inch that they could get. In the end it came down to pit strategy which is unusual for Michigan as it usually fuel mileage that plays a part. However, necomer Danny Bombe in the #38 Corona Chevrolet Silverado took just 2 tires to gamble for the win, and it worked! The race went caution free and all 70 laps were tooth and nail. Last weeks winner Jim Whaley Jr went from 5th to 2nd with 2 laps go, but missed his entry angle and had to lift which allowed a 3 truck draft to get him before the line. The race took just a few seconds under 52 minutes. It was the fastest and cleanest race in S.N.T.R. History. Congratulations to Danny Bombe Winner of the Michigan 70
Top 5: 1st: #38 Danny Bombe 2nd: #06 Greg Artlip 3rd: #85 Trevor Malone 4th: #021 Darcy Rutherford 5th: #46 Jim Whaley Jr

Well Race Fans it's week 2 of the S.N.T.R. Summer Sizzler Series and we're here at Memphis Motorsports Park. This week we had 8 more drivers show up after getting their cars finished. 17 Drivers pulled into the pits and unloaded their "old school" looking but new powerhouse rides. The smell of fuel was in the air and smelled oh sooooo sweet.
All the drivers fired up their steeds to go out for qualifying and it was last seasons defending Champion Mike Gibson laying down the hot lap with a time of 22.973.
The four fastest lined up for a 4 lap free for all that would see some excitement right off the bat. Exiting turn 4, Whaley in the 46 split the 21 of last week's winner Tony Bowling and Trevor Malone in the #85 Firebird. Whaley tried to keep it off of Bowling and got just a little loose and touched Malone once, but then Malone bounced back into him and they both went spinning. This gave Gibson the Dash win in his G.M.S. Mustang
Heat 1 saw 8 cars going at it for the same exact spot. The 31 Sunoco Chevelle of Gary Rousseau got out to a quick start, but got into a late race altercation that ended his race. That gave the lead to Paul Cohen in his #51 Harley Davidson sponsored Camaro.
Heat 2 had the 9 fastest duking it out for 10 jaw dropping laps. The #46 Dynamic Signs & Designs GTO shot out to a commanding lead, but with 3 to go ignition problems proved to be too much and he was forced to retire. The race had a "Scarey" moment when the 101 of Michael Campbell wrecked as he was about to be lapped by race winner Jeffrey Dean n the #5 Florida Gators Chevelle right at the checkered flag.
The feature had a full field take the green and it didn't take long for calamity corner to strike not once, but twice as 2 seperate accidents happened at the same time. The 89 of Larry Bowling got loose and lost it into the quarter panel of Whaley. Whaley hit the wall but just received some cosmetic damage. The 28 of Gibson had his hood come up to where he couldnt see, and ran into the wall hard, thus ending his night prematurely.
There were several self spins but the race didn't begin till 8 to go. Whaley was leading and had a comfortable 1 second lead, but that would all change. He got into turn 1 too hot and did a remarkable job to save it, however this allowed Malone to close 7/10's of a second on him. Two laps later Whaley did the same exact thing at the same exact spot and this let the #85 roll through to pick up his 1st Feature win of the season as well as his 7th Career. Congratulations to all last night's Winners, and we will see all of you back at the track in 2 weeks at Milwaukee.
