Very sad to hear the news today about the hardest working man in showbiz. He may not have known karate- but he knew ka-razy.
I was lucky enough to see him live once in Central Park, NYC at Summer Stage I think it was around 1996 or 1997 I think I will google to find out when exactly. It was mind blowing and a show I'll never forget.
RIP James

My sweet husband gave me a ukelele tonight. The first thing I did was look up one of our songs, "You Belong To Me" (remember that scene from The Jerk?) G-d bless the internet, I was playing it within minutes. Hooray for Frankie, hooray for the interweb.

Hey there Cats and Kittens --
Long time no see! All is well on my Irish front here, baby is 4 months old and believe it or not-- she is singing already! Additionally, she is already constructing her lawsuit against us for forcing her to wear a banana costume for Halloween (get it? Hannah Banana - pic at my myspace page)
I'm writing today to announce that I'm coming home briefly in January and I've booked my first gig in Philly in 2&1/2 years!
Philadelphia Songwriters Project kicks off it's 5th Season with a very special "In the Round" with Nancy Falkow, Christine Havrilla and Amber deLaurentis. January 27, 7:30pm, Milkboy Coffee, Ardmore, PA
You can purchase tickets in advance (highly recommended) directly from Philadelphia Songwriters, here's the link - http://www.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=78558 Visit them online -- http://www.phillysongwriters.com
It's a good way to get a bunch of people in one room for a hug and to show off this baby!
I am also returning for my 9th year to run a relaxing and inspiring songwriting workshop in Cape May,NJ...limited space is still available. Details at-- http://www.wintergetaway.com But feel free to email me with any questions.
I am currently writing an album of lullabies with my good friend Fran King (http://www.myspace.com/frankingband)It is coming along nicely and hope to release it in 2007. I've been busy singing and playing keys in Fran's wonderband, stop by and listen to his stuff.
Thanks again for all of your kind wishes about the baby, I'm so homesick and can't wait to get to Philly.....Hikaru, Reading Terminal & Marra's are calling!
Lastly, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for my beautiful baby, my wonderful husband, and like one of my nephews wrote on his Thanksgiving placemat, I am thankful for soda.
xoxo

Sorry not much to report here, been very busy with baby. Who knew something so small could take up so much space and time?
For those interetsed in new material, I'm currently working on a fine album of original lullabies with the most talented Fran King - (http://www.myspace.com/frankingband). We're about half way there, and it's truly lovely. It will put anyone to sleep!
I know it's not until January, but plans are in the works for our trip home, and I think I will even be playing a show in Philadelphia, watch this space.

Well, I just wanted to plug the big Fran King Band show next Wed nite....the band is pretty damn good if I dont say so myself. It's nice to finally be playing with the right people here in Dublin. Many of the people in the band are in my top 8 - Fran of course, Duncan Maitland (who is also opening the show), & Geoff from the Prescriptions(and their lead singer Niall is also opening the show.) So check them out, get off the couch and come on down to Crawdaddy on Sept 20.
Hannah is an absolute joy

So everyone asks if I've had any weird cravings during this pregnancy...and to be honest, I have craved a ton of things....but the ones that stick out are the ones I cant get here in Ireland. In the beginning it was chocolate milk with Hershey's syrup and Fruity Pebbles breakfast cereal, check - took care of those when I was home in Jan. Next it was Nutter Butters cookies, check, my good friend Lauren sent me a snack pack to get it out of my system. But about 6 weeks ago, I was watching the movie Kramer vs. Kramer on tv and the kid broke out the chocolate frosted Entenmann's donuts....and I have been craving them ever since. No one would send me any! Until today. Frankie walked upstairs with a rectangular box wrapped in brown paper....and I knew exactly what it was, just needed to know what nice person hooked me up....none other than....my sister Ellen. Just dont tell our mom, as she was against the whole request. Yes they were crushed, but to be honest, they came all the way from St Louis, unless they were sent in tupperware i didnt expect less...so the bottom row were a little less crushed...and boy were they delicious!!! OK back to my regularly scheduled crankyness....28 days til due date....please don't let me go over this due date, for Frankie's sake!

Just played my best show in Ireland, thanks to the background vocal stylings of Fran King (http://www.franking.tv) I wish I had all my gear (pedals and amp) but I was trying to keep it simple. Got to play 2 extra songs than I was prepared for, so I relied on the good ol fav Moonage Daydream. I have been wanting to play the Ruby Sessions since I moved here, I feel fulfilled! Set list: Stay, Blindsided, Blue Ridge Highway, Sleeping East, Clear View, Invisible, Moonage Daydream
