Modo atual:Love it
Hi all,
I'm starting a new weekly music event with my good friend Hadleigh Ford so if anyone is in the area please check out this facebook event & invite literally all your friends. Basically to be frank, I make my living money from pub gigs when I'm not on the road & this is a very good opportunity for me to continue focusing on my music instead of working for next to nothing. That isn't supposed to sound like emotional blackmail it's just the way it is these days! Let's fill the room...

Below is the event, please tell all your friends & also join my facebook group.

Hello ladies & gentlemen,

Hope everyone is as happy as they can be.

A couple small updates for you as it's been a little while.

I've been developing my debut album these last few months & am pleased to announce I begin recording in a week! I'm doing it with Mike Curtis of C.D.S Studios (guitarist in Fei Comodo) & we're going to finish all recording in literally 4 days so it maintains a live edge & isn't too laboured. The working titles of the tracks so far are...

Dave McPherson - The Hardship Diaries

1. A chameleon's true colours

2. Listen to the music

3. Obsession is a young man's game

4. The Gentleman's Blues

5. Last Year

6. Is this all we are?

7. Dance Floor Folk-Core

8. Scary Envelope

9. Love Rats

10. This is no fairytale

11. 1982

12. Hummingbird

Apart from that I've been playing a lot of local shows with my friends Hadleigh & Ben but there should hopefully be another string of regional shows a little later in the year.

I'm not quite sure when the album will drop as it depends on which route I take. I think hopefully it will be put out by Graphite Records so that it can hit the shops & iTunes etc.

More news to come as I hear it folk!

Modo atual:Bah Humbug!
I will be making 'Rarities Part 1' available to purchase very shortly.
To give you a very slight idea of the compilation's scope I have uploaded a track from it entitled 'Ditto'.
There are songs dating back to 2003 in various forms, I didn't think these songs would ever be heard by anyone and some are very raw but I know there are people that would wish to hear them regardless as otherwise they'd disappear forever.
Below is a tracklisting with a brief description of each track's origin.

Dave McPherson - Rarities Part 1

1. Ditto - Recorded in 2007 - This was originally going to be an InMe song (on the 4th album) but it didn't fit in with the musical theme of the rest of the album demo tracks and felt much more like a Dave McPherson song. It got buried for a while until I rediscovered it again a month ago and decided I liked the English-nature metaphors throughout...and of course the salsa tinted guitar solo.

2. Stepping Stones - Recorded in 2006 - This was one of the first songs I wrote for InMe after Greg joined. It totally didn't fit the style of what we were creating at the time and feels much more like a Dave McPherson song in retrospect. I like the imagery of hopping across a flowing river upon stepping stones, it's a nice metaphor for trial and tribulation.

3. Glass White Flag (early demo) - Recorded in 2004 - This is a very layered version of one of my favourite solo songs. There are some slightly alternate lyrics in there and a massive sound scape behind the song for this version. It has a childlike quality to it as I had just properly discovered GarageBand!

4. Mr Goodchild (live at the Purple Turtle) - Recorded in 2008 - This was the first live performance of this very personal song. Many have commented on how much they liked this version so here it is. I really like Ben's improvisation on the lead guitar, it feels very warm and organic.

5. The Grace in her Hope - Recorded in 2004 - This was supposed to be part of 'Crescent Summer Sessions' but I didn't think it fitted at the time. I was listening to a lot of straight up pop music at this time which is clearly evident in this song!

6. Hearts need blood (early demo) - Recorded in 2007 - This was originally being treated as an InMe song but it was very clear it was a Dave McPherson song after a couple listens. It has become easier to make that distinction this last year. It has a different structure to the proper version and is about twice as fast!

7. Sorry lads (live at the Purple Turtle) - Recorded in 2008 - This was an amazing show largely due to such an enthusiastic warm audience. This song has always been a favourite for me to play live because a lot of people seem to connect with the song. The intro sums up the whole tune really!

8. Our Secret - Recorded in 2004 - This is another song that got taken off the 'Crescent Summer Sessions' EP as I felt it was the weakest at the time and it wanted the EP to be short and snappy. In retrospect I really like the melodies and the wide eyed lyrics about love.

9. The distance of a kiss - Recorded in 2004 - This was originally written for a multi-style concept album I was indulging on at the time. Not a lot was going on with the band and I had a lot of time to kill! This was the softest song on the demo and listening back to it instantly reminds me of walking back from the pub drunk in the freezing cold to go and work on this music until the sun rises.

10. Ghost to everyone - Recorded in 2004 - This is the first song I ever recorded on GarageBand when I was in a hotel room somewhere in the UK. It is quite a raw track in that respect but I like the feeling and the self loathing lyrics contained within.

I will put up another track when we make it available to purchase very shortly! In 2009 the second part will be made available. You people deserve frequent uploads!

Christmas is coming people, indulge!

Well who wouldn't!?
If any of you are feeling creative or bored, make a promotional image for Dave McPherson and use it as your profile picture, alternatively just use my profile image, also change your profile name to [YOUR NAME] SUPPORTS DAVE MCPHERSON
Send me a message once you've done it and I will put you in my top friends for as long as you decide to keep the image and the title. I know this is a cheeky request especially considering the title of my latest EP but I'm really pushing this and need all the help I can get!

Dave has uploaded the new song 'The World's Biggest...' from his new EP 'I don't do requests' on to his solo MySpace. You can also hear the title track too to get a taster of the whole thing. The EP can be purchased directly from his MySpace (myspace.com/davemcphersonsolo) or at any upcoming solo show.

Dave does all of his own online promotion and therefore relies heavily on his supporters to help spread the word whilst he is building the foundations of a solo career (this doesn't mean InMe is going to suffer at all). If you keep helping Dave by spreading the word, adding his songs to your profile, making your own promotional banners, coming to the shows etc...who knows what he'll achieve.

Below Dave briefly describes his new EP 'I don't do requests'...

"I wanted to make each song have it's own individual theme and mood so that I could have infinite freedom creatively. I wanted it all to be honest but some songs are slightly tongue in cheek, some are straight from the heart, some are social commentaries, some make light of the dark etc. I don't want to be restricted with what I can do with this thing so I may be being a little too experimental this time just to see where the boundaries are, hopefully there are none!"

Below is a brief description regarding each song...

I don't do requests - "This is a slightly tongue in cheek outburst about my passion for music and how although things aren't quite as successful as they once were, my resilience and determination are higher than ever".

Hearts need blood - "This song has a more serious tone and it explores the idea of love and people's journeys through the dirt in order to find the treasure. It is for someone special."

Mr Goodchild - "My Grandad passed away this year and he was the man I looked up to the most throughout my life. There were a couple things I always wanted to say to him but never got the chance and this is directly for him. He was like a real life hero."

When I grow up I wanna be a rock star - "This is an observation between the complexities of being an adult and the simplicities of being a reckless child. It references some nostalgic elements of my childhood. It is really about how life doesn't turn out the way you plan it...ever."

The World's Biggest - "I was in a pub a few months back and a man who shall remain nameless was ridiculously rude to me regarding my family. I barely knew the guy so I couldn't believe he had the audacity to come out with some of these things. I thought the best from of revenge is song so I have ridiculed him within this whimsical tale of the world's biggest dick."

Waltzing in a Supermarket - "This is a little lullaby to finish of the EP. The person it's for will understand. The 'bom bom bom' bits recur throughout the EP and in this song they were inspired by 'The Frog Song'! I think it ends it all nicely."

1. When playing 'Underdose' live these days, you've changed the chorus lyrics to 'It's all gone Pete Tong'. How did this come about?

I watched that film 'It's all gone Pete Tong', the rest is history. As we've progressed we've learnt to take ourselves a little less seriously and throw a bit of humour in there. Even if it's not funny...

2. Back in the 'Overgrown Eden' days when the InMe hype was in the air, did you ever play the 'Rockstar card' and act like a bit of a big headed nonse?

Being thrown into the limelight when you're 19 is always hard but I think if anything I was simply more shy for a good while. I like to flip reverse it, if someone is treating me like a rock star, I like to show them I'm actually a bit of a Brentwood twat. I care what people think and don't want people going away thinking I'm full of myslef or anything, but sometimes that happens anyway!

3. You're about to embark on a UK tour with Pendulum. Are you - like myself - a big Pendulum fan? Will you be dancing about to them after your own set?

We'll be doing all the crew work ourselves so we do intend to play hard when we find the time. Itunes was my first experience of them live and I have to say my hips haven't moved properly in a long time like they did that night. We hung out with them afterwards and they played us some bone crushing metal then we showed them our new demos. I'd love to work on some music with them.

4. You've been known to admire a few select bands over the years, but what are your opinion on Biffy Clyro, who are from the same little town as me?

Biffy Clyro have always done things for themselves and that is why they have achieved such an honest fanbase. They're lovely down to earth blokes and it's been too long since we got messed up with them!

5. Do you find Scottish fans impossible to understand at gigs?

No not really. My Dad's side of the family are full on Scottish and my Gran has never lost her native accent.

6. Is Serj Tankien a nice bloke in person?

Absolutely lovely person. So chilled, he immediately makes you feel at ease. We had a great time on those tours and were very sad on the last day.

7. Which football team do you support if any?

I don't have time for that. Although Si supports West Ham so I like winding him up when they lose!

8. Your favourite film - as well as being one of mine - is the Dark Crystal. If you could, would you dress up at hallowe'en as a Skeksi or a Mystic (UrRu)?

A Skeksi as you can stand upright. Mystics looked like quite a painful strain on the posture!

9. Are you a religious person?

No, I don't think the human brain is big enough to know exactly what the bigger picture is. My Goddess is Mother Nature and the chaos and balance she brings to our lives. That is a God I can feel, taste and see.

10. Download Festival - how does it work? Do you, as a band, ask to play there? Or does a promoter approach you and ask if you're available?

I'm pretty ignorant with gig bookings. Our management and agent are there to deal with that!

11. Do you have a driving liscence?

Nope, still learning slowly. I love walking.

12. What subject did you excel at in school?

English, Art, Music and History.

13. Do you play 'World of Warcraft?'

No, not enough time for that.

14. Right...lets start getting back on to the music again. In all your years, have the band 'ever' played Trenches live?

Yes, when we started out we played it quite a bit.

15. Do you think Kid Rock is a cunt?

No not at all.

16. Was 'I Won't Let Go' the bands choice as first single? Or the labels choice?

A bit of both really. I do regret that decision though, I think it should've been 'Cracking the Whip' or 'Far-reaching'.

17. 'Around We Go' is one of my favourite InMe songs never heard live. If I slipped you £100 before a gig, would you play it for me? Or have you forgotten how?

We've never played it with the current line-up and I feel there are probably much better songs in our back catalogue.

18. Staying on the subject, are there any InMe songs you have completely forgotten how to play over the years? Or is your memory pretty crackin?

I'm sure we could figure them out again by using our brains. Whether we would want to is another thing.

19. What is the idea behind the 'So You Know' artwork?

It was one of the pictures in the White Butterfly artwork and became collectibles with the whole blue/red/green concept. The image itself is just random.

20. Did you have a lot of fun filming the 'Crushed Like Fruit' video?

Yes indeed, they were good times! Blowing shit up in a warehouse in Canada. I'd love to go back there and meet the whole gang again.

21. What is the idea behind the front cover art on 'Overgrown Eden'?

It is a play on the Eve eating the apple concept.

22. What is your favourite venue to play in Glasgow? (To remind you, you've played The Cathouse a lot, The Garage a few times, The QMU once, and the ABC with Serj).

The Cathouse is always very intimate but anywhere really. We know the promoter up there and he is a big cuddly diamond!

23. In all the places you've played live, where has the most mental/crazy/loud crowd? Or the best crowd?

There are a few places really. Brighton, Liverpool, anywhere in Scotland, Newport, Manchester, Bournemouth are some of the loudest. I don't think the best crowd is down to location, it is an atmosphere on the night kinda thing.

24. What live performance will stick with you for the rest of your life?

Download main stage 2003. What a feeling!

25. Last but not least, do you have any regrets specific to the band?

Yes but I don't really want to go into them explicitly. I'm very happy creatively now but in the early days I felt a little overlooked.

"Whats your fave InMe lyric?

There's many lyrics on the new album I like but my favourite past lyrics is probably on Daydream Anonymous'. 'The hero in the cell, he doesn't look too well'. 'An astronaut's mentality'...

Whats the one song you wish you had written?

Tears for Fears 'Woman in Chains'.

and when are the cover versions going to get another airing,i mean you doing always was AMAZING!"

I do random covers every sunday in Essex or a sometimes bring my finest on the road!

"what hapened to the first jonquil?

It wasn't meant to be.

and why is the 3rd one lucky?

3rd time lucky!

what do your forearm tattoos say/what are they written in?"

They are written in Theban (language of angels). One says "Friends" and the other one says "Purity".

1) Are there any songs by other bands that you really wish you'd written?

See above!

2) If all the InMe band members had a fight, who do you think would win?

Simon obviously.

3) If you could have any super power, what would you choose and why?

Invincibility.

4) If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?

Yes, a massive sound.

1) What mixer do you use to record on GarageBand?

Just simply GarageBand.

2) How was InMe motivated to look for more record labels after each of the first two went down? Or did they find you?

It was that or get a dead end job! We found them.

3) Is there more side projects of different genres to come?

Probably at some point. I'm proper greedy.

4) What is your favourite side project?

I don't consider my solo stuff a side project so I'll say 'Primordial Soup'.

5) On your personal myspace you have said you will do recordings for people but not with real drum kits how much more money would it take to change your mind?

It's more that I'm not experienced enough yet to get a good drum sound. I will eventually expand.

6) How did you find Ben to play with you or did you already know him

Hadleigh Ford invited him to my acoustic night and we were all blown away immediately.

7) Do you have any tattoos that aren't from helpcap?

Yes but then they got fixed by Hepcat! My CND was done in Wrexham and my ying yang in York.

8) Is the song 'The Thieves" about the prick that stole your voodoo?

It's got a deeper them than that. It is more about how thieves help you to cope with loss.

9) What is your favourtie show you have ever played?

Can't really just pick one show.

10) The songs 'Little Mortalities' and 'One for the Road' sound un-mastered were they meant to sound like that or was that due to it being to expensive to release singled?

They just didn't really work because they were very rushed.

11) Even if you don't put these questions in your blogs do you still answer them?

I put them all up, I reply to about 50% of my messages.

12) Is the "rock star" life style all its cracked up to be or are there more bad points to it than good?

There is the fantasy based idea of what it all is, then there is the realistic side of things. I'm a realist these days.

13) What is the best venue to play in a small or big one?

Both for different reasons!

"best and words moments since the birth of inme?

Best-Our rebirth last year, I finally felt like we were getting credible attention.
Worst-The hardship we dealt with before the rebirth!

how fast does it take you to down a pint of guinness?

About 10 seconds but I don't do that unless the taxi has arrived!

will you be doing any more acoustic covers of inme songs?

Of course!

what is to be expected from 'Dodgy Saint Production'...?

Lots of recordings of upcoming singer/songwriters.

any thoughts on aberdeen, scotland? :P"

Great place, great crowd, wonderful architecture.

"craziest thing you've done on tour?

Played chess...

favourite type of cheese?

St Agur.

favourite beer?"

Fosters Scuba. Good old Australian piss...

How come InMe now plays in the carling academy? the place is a shithole"

I like it!

"have you ever played a gig with inme that you've really not enjoyed playing? or maybe looked back and thought 'ugh.. i wish i'd done this/that better"?

There has been quite a few over the years. Rock 'n Roll can't be forced.

also, what do you think is your best gig to date? TJ's was incredible. just to throw one in there :)

There has also been too many to pick one really.

If u could Pick any famous musician to join the band who would it be and if u could join any band who would it be

Either of the Sikth guitarists could join! Me and Greg did toy with the idea of trying out as their new singers!

1. Are you considering playing Unpredictable or Beyond live at all?

Probably not but you never know.

2. If you could choose another single from Daydream Anonymous, what would it be?

Cracking the Whip.

3. If/when you get really famous, will you remember the fans who have been there through the thick & thin since the beginning?

Of course.

4. Are you planning on doing a Christmas show this year since it used to be tradition?

I may be doing a couple solo things but we'll probably be doing pre-production rehearsals for 'Herald Moth'.

5. What's the most embarrassing thing you (or Greg or Si) have done on stage?

Just the usual falling over kind of stuff but you just laugh that off.

6. Who are the best (hypothetical) couple off the boards?
a) Martin & Emma
b) Martin & Danneh
c) Martin & Jimzy
d) Jimzy & Danneh

C.

7. Tea; with sugar or without?

2 modest heaps.

8. MySpace or Facebook?

MySpace for music. Facebook for personal. By the way, to the people that keep adding me, I only add close friends on Facebook. That doesn't include meeting you a couple times.

What's the most disgusting thing you've ever eaten?

Those Swedish sweets.

1)Greg or Simon?

Grimon.

2)Daddy or chips? - random I know

Daddy you weirdo.

3)Take That or Robbie?

Take That. Robbie has no songs.

4)Whats the most random thing you would do for money?

Busk?

5)What do you really think of InMe fans?

Appreciative, supportive, insane.

6)Where do you get your jokes from?

Texts or the gutter.

7)Tell us a good one (I said a good one).

InMe are millionaires...

8)What percentage of your life have you spent sober?

A lot of time when I'm not on tour...well some of it at least. I didn't drink for the first half of my life obviously so let's say 90% sober. Which isn't too good...

what is your all time favourite movie? =)

Dark Crystal.

1.What is your biggest pet peeve?

Rudeness.

2.What do you think is your worst habit?

Being late, which comes under rudeness.

3.You're pretty damn funny, do you think you would make a good stand-up comedian?

You have to be ridiculously funny and intelligent for that. I'll stick to being a sarcastic musician.

4.Whats one of the most embarrassing things you've done?

Had conversations with people thinking they were someone else.

5.What do you see as some of the most meaningful songs you've created?

'Safe in a room', 'I don't do requests', 'I will honour you', 'Mr Goodchild', 'All Terrain Vehicle', 'Thanks for leaving me'.

6. Do you have a preference towards playing solo shows or playing as part of a band?

They both have massive advantages and few disadvantages but in their own way.

what made you change from drowned to inme?

Copyright issues and we wanted a fresh start.

why did joe morgan leave?

He wanted to go to university and we didn't want InMe to take a back seat to anything.

why did you take on a solo career?

It keeps me busy when InMe isn't and I've been making softer music for years.

when is the release date to visceral?

'Herald Moth' will be released in 2009.

What was the last 'regular' job you had?

I am a gardener when I'm not on tour which is what I'd like to do in my later years and also remove lime scale from the marble stone in the Canary Wharf buildings every 6 months for good money.

What was the best gig you've played?

This gets asked a lot but is impossible to answer!

Any recommendations on a new guitar? I've got a Fender Tele but kinda want a PRS..

PRS are great but very pricey, for a good reason.

What do you think of 'Anchorman'?

One of the funniest films ever.

1) As you missed this last time, what's your favourite song on each InMe/solo album and why?

Overgrown Eden - Energy...sums me up at that time.
White Butterfly - Safe in a room...about my friend of many years.
Daydream Anonymous - Far-reaching...sums up the new direction and energy in the band.
Herald Moth - Master Storm...the crazy new riff in the video blog is just the beginning of this epic about a man lost at sea which is a metaphor for a man lost in alcoholism...no not me!

2) When will Ben be introduced live?

2009. Although we are already rehearsing and it sounds goooood.

3) Bands get heckled from time to time... what was the funniest/most original one you've heard?

"You're shit" is always a good one.

4) Any particularly good put-downs you've said to hecklers? (or anyone else for that matter... well-crafted insults are an art form)

At a headline show someone shouted the classic "you're shit" so my response was simply "I didnt see your name on the guest list, thanks for the £9". If someone is going ape at me in a pub it's always good to say "try the de-caff mate".

5) Ever been supported by a truly shit band?

Shit loads...I don't mind unless they walk around like a rock star poser. I'm not naming names though.

6) You said 'no holds barred' so there's got to be a penis question in here somewhere, but I have too much dignity to ask one. So insert your own (no, not penis) here.

Am I a big cock? Yes.

7) Any questions you'd like to ask your fans?

Do you download band's music for free and then complain when said band has to call it a day due to poor record sales?

8) Weirdest encounter with a fan?

A couple girls have come up to meet us and then be crying hysterically and not said a word in English. What the hell do you say to that?

Will there be another DVD with the new line up?

At some point there will be.

Will you be playing Primordial Soup live (DJ set or whatever)?

No plans as yet. I wouldn't know how to play it live!

Do you think it sounds odd to hear your own band name in the line 'you've seen the worst in me' in the song 2nd Jonquil?

Yeah, freaks me out at night that does...

Any chance you will play a gig in Lincolnshire again? The last one in Cleethorpes many years back was awesome, despite techinal issues.

I play anywhere that asks me.

Any ideas for new show opening songs?

We will see how the new stuff comes out live.

Will you play Mosaic again? It's been a while

As a band releases more and more music, inevitably some songs will be left out. It hasn't aged that well in my opinion. It sounds a bit childish.

Do you have any ideas for the Hereld Moth artwork?

Yes we do and I'm not telling!

If you could shag anyone, who would it be?

My girlfriend.

If you could kill anyone, who would it be?

I still wouldn't even if I was allowed. I would slap Nicholas Cage though. He can't act for shit.

I no your bros really into gaming are you and if so whats ya fav gam

Far Cry all the way.

What gear do you use to record, like mics/interface ect?

For my solo stuff/ A Devil's Devil/ Primordial Soup/ InMe demos/ Dodgy Saint Production (coming soon) I use Garageband on my Apple Mac. I alternate between SM58 mics or a Sennheiser one I have. Sometimes I just use the internal mic which somehow works ok!

1. With so many projects going on have ever considered merging any of them, ie. Primordial Soup/ADD?

Well one is song based and the other is more grimey drum 'n bass from the gutters of the LDN. So no. I'm greedy.

2. We all know there are a few Inme songs Greg doesn't particaularly like but is there any song in particular that YOU don't like or would permanently remove from your setlist?

We only play songs we all love these days! It's not just Greg, we all despise Neptune! Hopefully as we release more and more music there will be even less room for songs that don't quite cut the mustard.

3. Would you ever bring back any of the Drowned songs if they were reworked?

No I doubt it. Those songs were part of our childhood. We're men now.

4. Are you ever gonna play a solo show in Norwich?

Yeah sure thing. I'll play anywhere. I'd play a Mecca Bingo Hall if the money was right...

5. How many tatts do you have now or have you lost count?

Shit loads. I want more.

6. How did you find the transition from guitarist to drummer?

I started drumming before I ever picked up a guitar! Started learning when I was 10.

7. Is there any Centiment songs that you wish were Inme songs?

No. Sorry Greg!

8. With so many different projects going on do you ever wonder why you're not the most famous musician on the planet?

Probably because I make music for myself and am not interested in any form of demographic.

"a tech question: What do you think of guitrs like Gibsons Robot SG, the epiphone SG range and will you ever consider switching your seymour duncans for EMG's or seymour duncans blackouts?

Haven't seen the Robot, sounds cool. We just put my old Voodoo SG pickups in an Epiphone SG to soup it up a bit. It is a good spare. I wouldn't change pickups. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

"What influenced you to do other projects apart from InMe??

I love so many types of music. InMe is my heavy, emotional release but there are other avenues I like to explore. Life influenced me.

Howcome no matter what type of music you doo, they are all end up sounding amazing??

You haven't heard my rap music?!

What do you consider is a underrated InMe b-side?

The Addict swims alone is a good tune. Very dreamy.

What song do you enjoy playing in a gig right now?

Far-Reaching is always fun. Solo-wise I'm loving playing I will honour you for my Grandad.

Pirates or ninjas?

Pirates. Touring is kinda like modern piracy. Greg's a ninja though.

What inspired you to do the act of drinking beer whilst doing a tapping solo?

Two of my favourite things combined. It naturally happened in Wrexham. When Ben joins Greg might feed him at the same time whilst doing a finger tapping harmony. We are shameless.

What bands have been a big influence on you for the 4th album?

Scar Symmetry, Textures, Frank Turner, Reuben, Sikth, Protest the Hero, Brigade, Tears for Fears, All Shall Perish, Lots of bloody good bands.

Do you find music critics to be a bunch of cunts nowadays?

You can't really generalise like that! It's the same as people in general. You get people with really cool outlooks who always find the funnies, or you get blamers who can't see that the reason they're so unhappy is because of their own outlook. You get nice people and you get idiots.

"Since I missed you after the gig in Tilburg I'll ask it here; how much weed do you smoke, and how did you like the dutch stuff?

I only smoke when it is to do with music these days. It is good for listening back to a song you've created as it slightly alters your perception. Other than that it makes you a bit of a paranoid loser.

Also; Do you use any of the distortions or amp models on your gt-3 or do you just use if for effects?

Just for effects. Processed distortions don't quite cut it yet.

"Thanks for answering my 3 questions Dave its refreshing to see a band who care about there fans enough to do it so thans. and when are you embarking on a InMe lands end to John o groats countrywide trek?

I'd love that, I aim to play everywhere before I perish.

Whats the best song title you feel you have ever came up with and why is Her Mask (P.A) not just called Planet Asylum?"

I quite like some of the new titles like 'Single of the Weak', 'The Art of Moderation'. I like the term 'Daydream Anonymous', I think a lot of people feel that way a lot. Her Mask (PA) is an anagram of a girl's name I used to fancy at college!

What do you think each InMe member's strength is?

We all bring a lot of creativity. Greg is the intelligent one. Simon is hardworking. I bring the funnies. Ben is the sensible one.

Where did you get the InMe teddy? (some boardies want one)

The teddy is a standard Clintons teddy. The tshirt was sent by a merch company as a sample which we never followed through at the time. We were worried about how many sizes to have based on the size of people's teddies!

Have you met any fans crazier than the ones with the dildo/arm hair collecting/sock collecting?

Most people I meet at shows are very cool, maybe a little shy as they think I'm gonna be all rockstar like! One guy fucked me off in my local, I'd never met him and he came up to me and went 'Oy you're Dave from InMe, buy me a drink 'cause you're a millionaire'. Even if I was a millionaire I wouldn't have bought him a drink! Rude!

Have you had any new tattoos done?

Just my Grandparent's nicknames on my wrists respectively.

"How did your guitar playing improve so dramatically from White Butterfly to Daydream Anonymous? [No that it wasnt good before. The intro riff from Neptune made me pick up the guitar! See it is a good song! Haha.] It cant have just been down to Lewis like some people suggested!

Who is Lewis!? Using Garageband means I can record riffs I can't play all the way through yet, then I can sit down and practise along with the recorded version until I get it.

When can we hear some more demos/previes from 'Herald moth?'

We don't want to give too much away yet and the demo production isn't the best.

When are you going into the studio to record this beast?

Early january.

How comes you have started writing for the new album so quickly after the third opus? As in the past you have been known to rest and take more time? [Not saying thats a bad thing! :)]

We never voluntarily took breaks it's just unlucky shit always happened around us. As soon as we lay down 'Herald Moth' I will begin developing ideas for the 5th album. Straight after I record my debut solo album which may hit the shops.

Will you come and play in Scarborough, either Solo or as Inme?

Sure, just get a promoter to ask me and give me a million pounds.

What made you choose the might Gibson SG as your weapon of choice?

It's light, has a wide fret board and looks proper cool.

What happened to you Voodoo?? That was one beautiful guitar. I so wanted it...

Some pikey thieving prick stole it and turned it into a crack flavoured rock.

1) How do you decide whats b-side material and what ends up on albums? because some of your b-sides (Your Pain,Ruins,Web) are better than some of the album tracks

Back in the day Music for Nations liked to say what they thought should be on the album and what shouldn't. Therefore Ruins became a bside, these days we decide what are the strongest tracks for the album that also flow well together.

2)Why so few releases from D.A?"

Money. It's very expensive to do singles these days and no-one buys them anyway. We want to do at least 2 with 'Herald Moth'.

what is the best way to get a record deal should i break my dumkit like si apparantly did for InMe to get there record deal

Send them a demo, get shit hot live, and hope that someone likes it!

Will You Ever Play King Georges Hall In Blackburn Lancs? Not All Of Us Over Here Can Keep Affording To Go To Manchester

Yeah I'll be there in a minute...

1) Why was there just one song released from Daydream Anonymous when there is so many great songs on that record?

See above.

2)Any chance of Gelosea coming back into the set?

Maybe, we'd soup it up a bit though.

3) What is the meaning to Cracking The Whip?

It doesn't really have a singular meaning. It simply sums up where my head was on the day I wrote it. All over the place...
