Recording and performing artist, Miz Mandy, announces the premier of her debut Music Video ’Let Love Be Free’.

The music video for ’Let Love Be Free’, the second single off of Miz Mandy’s new album, ’Today’s the Day’, was filmed in December 2008, with a production crew consisting of those that have worked with names and networks such as MTV, BET, VH1, Mariah Carey, T.I., and Playstation. On February 24th, a sneak preview of the video will be accompanied by a live performance from Miz Mandy on Fox 5 Morning News. The official Premier, with a red carpet reception held at Universal, in downtown Hillcrest, California, will be held on February 27th, 2009.

SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2009 -- Two Illinois natives, Pop/Dance singer, Miz Mandy and 24-year old Director Frank Rice Jr., announce the premier of her debut Music Video ’Let Love Be Free’.

Written by Miz Mandy and music producer Patricio Pickslay, ‘Let Love Be Free’ is the second single off of Miz Mandy’s new album, ’Today’s the Day.’ “The song really stood out to me, hence the reason my wanting to make the video.” Said Frank. “It's very commercial and catchy, and is what the music game is all about now.” www.myspace.com/take5_action

Iain Harris, Producer, whose involvement started when Frank discussed the possibility of doing a video for the track says, “I have been an admirer of the electronic scene since the mid nineties so this track is a synthesis of electronic-dance-lyric so of course it appealed to me! Preparing for the shoot consisted of wardrobe and style planning, location scouting, storyboarding, and hiring talent and crew, among other things. Lafawn laughs, “We must have searched all day and almost gave up hope, then, the purple gloves!”

The production crew, consisting of those that have worked with names and networks such as MTV, BET, VH1, Mariah Carey, T.I., and Playstation, included the Director of Photography, David Rodriguez, and the lighting Director, Ama MacDonald. “This was the best group of people I've worked with since I've been in the business.” Said Frank, “Everyone was professional, smart and prompt.”

“As the producer I am the one responsible for putting together all the pieces to ensure that at the end of the day, we have a video, and the team we had offered nothing but 110 percent.” Iain said. “I enjoy the fast paced nature of such projects. I tell people it is similar to going through a near death experience".

On location at Universal Hillcrest, the fifteen-hour shoot consisted of five performance scenes and one narrative story. “She [Miz Mandy] is always high energy and hard working,” states Kim Seiber, dancer and choreographer for Miz Mandy, who realized on set, “Gold is my favorite color of spray paint, and the dumber the joke, the bigger the laugh!”

Iain Harris, references the current process of postproduction. “Frank and I have been working on the edit for the past month, probably my favorite part was the color (telecine esque) process with the footage we shot. It was fun to pull a look that I have not yet worked with.”

On February 24th, Miz Mandy’s birthday, a sneak preview of the video will be accompanied by a live performance from Miz Mandy and her band, on Fox 5 Morning News. “They will do short clips of the video, interviews, and we’ll perform a few songs to promote the premier.” Miz Mandy informs. http://www.fox5sandiego.com/

The official premier, will be held at Universal, in downtown Hillcrest, California, on February 27th, 2009, from 7 - 9:30pm. Hello All!
Happy New Year! (a little late… but) With the holidays, I've fallen so far behind... Things here have been good, but very busy! Susan G Komen show (Thanks to Chris and everyone over at SGK!) and filming the music video...It was such a blast! BTW - Thank you all sooo much for helping and creating the video! Special thanks to Frank, Iain, and Lafawn - Great job! And to all of the extras, Thank you sooo much for being in the video! Everyone was very professional and looks great on camera!

Christmas in STL was great - a longer trip to fit in my sister's annual xmas party, mom's Bday, and my cousin's baby shower! It was a busy (and cold) trip! and then a (very) quiet New Years and I had 2 friend's birthday parties, and found myself sick with a very bad cold... : (
I've since seen a rough cut of the video and it looks awesome, as if we had a 25k budget... We did a first round of edits and will see the second cut this week. Hopefully we will get to send it to a special lighting effects editor once Iain has completed his edits. And the final will be done by mid Feb.

FYI - We are planning a red carpet Video Premier at the same club we filmed, Universal Hillcrest, in February/March. We will hopefully promote with a TV appearance on either Fox or Kusi on Sunday morning. As well, we will be promoting the album release concert ( similar to last summer's shows) which will be scheduled for mid March - location TBD. Hope you all can be there!

Other than that, we have a few new things in the works! A new fan website to be launched by April that will have a more interactive experience. And, a new FREE Monthly Ringtone just for you! So here is January’s code…

Miz Mandy’s officially releases her new pop/dance album ‘Today’s the Day’.

Recording and performing artist, Miz Mandy, and BabyLove Records released her new album ‘Today’s the Day’. The album includes the recent Billboard charting hit 'Sweet Fury of Love (Friscia & Lamboy Back 2 Soul Radio Mix)', the 'Best of' San Diego Magazine competition finalist 'Just Another Night', and features her new unreleased music video track ‘Let Love Be Free’.

SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2009 -- Pop singer, Miz Mandy and label BabyLove Records announced the release of her sophomore album ‘Today’s the Day’. “We did a soft release in December for presales to the fan club,” Miz Mandy states,”[and] now that it’s through the distribution channels, we are officially releasing it to the general public.” It is now available on iTunes, cdfreedom, Napster, Livewire, Groupie Tunes, eMusic, and Rhapsody.

The original album, mainly co-written with Patricio Pickslay of Rhythm Coalition Studios in Cardiff, California, is “a fun whirlwind of the extremes. On one hand, there is love, lust and passion and on the other self-loathing. There are funny songs, spiritually awakening songs, and flirtatious party songs.” She says.

“As Mandy's collaborator/producer, I'm intimately involved in many of the aspects of the creative process. I really appreciate Mandy's dedication to the music,” States Pat. “She always inspires me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things in the studio. She's in essence, evolved into a co-producer with great production instincts.”

As early as May of 2008, Miz Mandy released a single with Rhythm Coalition Productions, Nodden, Blu Productions, Schrapnel Apparel, Hollywood Nights Promotions and BabyLove Records. "Press play and the first sound you hear is a vintage synth looping an addictive riff. In the moments that follow a rock singer offers a quiet apology, a chart topping dance star delivers an infectious chorus and an underground rapper tops it off with a mesmerizing verse. The song, ‘Just Another Night’ contains the most unlikely of trios and yet the electronica-based dance inducing beat at its core glues it together seamlessly. The second single from the album, 'Sweet Fury of Love (Friscia & Lamboy Back 2 Soul Radio Mix)', released months before the album was finished, has already hit Billboard status. Friscia and Lamboy remixed 'Sweet Fury of Love’ into a “Tribal/Progressive [and] a House/Club Mix“ and it entered onto the Billboard Breakout charts on July 4th, 2008. In September it hit #48 on the Hot Dance Club Play Top 50 Billboard Charts. (Issue date 9.27)

“I was real impressed with the record. I felt the ride from the beginning to the end. The way it starts gets me every time.” J.Mac refers to the single now being pushed by BabyLove Records through her first music video, ‘Let Love Be Free’. “I had the privilege to hear the beat before the song was done. Nodden and myself both said, yup, that’s dope.”
