The KNON Benefit Halloween Show at Poor David's Pub is always a great event full of great people, food, dancing, costumes, and of course, Grateful Dead music. This year's celebration was no exception, and in fact was one of the more exciting events Forgotten Space has ever had the pleasure of being a part of. The vibe was electric as the band delivered three full sets of music spanning the legendary band's career. Many familiar faces, lots of new ones, all hanging out and letting it all hang out in the most harmoniously psycha-grassy-rock-a-delic way. Thanks to KNON for letting us be a part of such a great night, and to all the truly beautiful people that came out to see us and support local music and a great local radio station!

This past weekend was a double celebration of Jerry Garcia's birthday for the boys from Forgotten Space, who played Friday night at the Green Elephant, and Saturday night at Ruta Maya in Austin. Playing to two different crowds of equally enthusiastic Dead heads, it was only fitting to play a rare two night stint (with an even less common road trip gig) to out-do the success of last year's birthday bash. Tye-dye cake and party hats notwithstanding, the band focused every ounce of musical energy on spotlighting Jerry Garcia's songwriting talent, and the commune of musical energy that it inspired in his legendary bandmates over the last forty years. Thanks to John Bush from the New Bohemians for sitting in with the band Saturday night! Thanks as well to all the Dallas folk who made the trip down to Austin with us--we can't think of a better compliment than seeing your smiling faces dancing in that oh-so-hippielicious way that makes our jam pants go so crazy!!!!
Our next gig takes us out of Dallas again, this time up to Davis Oklahoma for a forty year anniversary celebration of Woodstock, where Forgotten Space will play along some of the best tribute acts in the country.
