In 2001, the Member States of the United Nations unanimously adopted the first-ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence - Peace Day - for September 21st.

The weekend of Sept 19th-20th sees the celebration of World Peace day in Ireland's most haunted castle - Charleville Castle in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

This family-friendly event will include various discussions, forums and projections on the Peace theme, dance and drum workshops, dance performances, live music. People are invited to get together and camp for the weekend in the name of Peace.

There will also be a special BBQ area where people can cook their own food
'bring-your-own-drink' policy

Adm is only €10 and includes one night's free camping on the castle grounds.

Discussions include:

# Edward De Bono - Thinking 6 Hats
# Civilian Peacekeeping - A Road map to Peace
# Music: The Universal Language - Making it Work For Peace

Entertainment will be provided by Peace Zone member artists:

In early November I had the pleasant surprise of finding out that "Walk On" had entered the Newscene Radio Unsigned Chart at number 4. On Friday last it had moved up to the number one spot in the chart which is based on listener votes and requests.

Previous to that it had  been given a 6 star review by musicreview.com and described as a "moody song with the elements of folk and laid back blues".

Its always its nice to hear positive things about a song so thanks to anyone thats requested or voted for it in the Chart and also a big thanks to both Newscene Radio & MusicReview.com

I've recently started work on a 5 track EP which will include Walk On and hopefully be available around March/April 08. Also a fully acoustic version of Walk On will be included on The Potential Collection Vol2 by The Zodiac Sessions which is due for release in early January.

The full top 5 listing is below along with links to both the Newscene Radio site and Musicreview.com... take 5 minutes and check them out...

Well Folks,

The latest track I've demo'd and loaded on my page, "Walk On", has been chosen to appear on the forthcoming compilation CD The Potential Collection Vol 2.

Produced by The Zodiac Sessions, Irelands Best Singer/Songwriter Night according to Hotpress Magazine, The Potential Collection will be comprised of tracks from eleven of Irelands leading singer/songwriters and regular acts to appear at the Zodiac Session which takes place every Wednesday night in Bruxelles bar, just off Grafton St in the heart of Dublin.

As the name suggests this will be the second such album released by The Zodiac Session with The Potential Collection Vol 1 having been released in March 2006.

I will be recording for the CD at the end of August with release scheduled for Oct/Nov, so keep your ear to the ground.

In the meantime check out The Zodiac Session including tracks, pictures and videos from the artists selected aswell as many others on:

http://www.thezodiacsessions.com

&

http://www.myspace.com/thezodiacsessions

or live any Wednesday night from 9.30pm in Bruxelles Bar, Dublin.

Take Care
