'The Winter Solstice Ball' Date: | Sunday, December 20, 2009 | | Location: | Drum Circle, Meditation, Food, 3rd Eye Musical/Poetry/Caberet |
The Winter Solstice Ball is now in its 3rd year. Held on the eve of the winter solstice, the longest night that precedes the shortest day of the year, a merry olde time is usually had by all.
The evening kicks of with UUC's regular 3rd Sunday of the month Drum Circle at 5 3Opm. If your new to drumming or want to pick up some tips come at 5. Precussion is provided if you don't have your own.
We'll break about 6 45 for a meditation on the darkest night. We will also burn our worst memories of the year in a fire, so we are ready to start the new year afresh.
3rd Eye Caberet kicks of after 7. The Clementines (Doug and Casi) will be playing, and other raggle taggle gypsies, poets and probably some more drumming. Will be a bit of an open mic so be in touch if you want to contribute or just show up !
Bring some tasty treats/potluck food to share.
- Non perishable food items, for our ongoing Covenant House Food Pantry collection.
- Donations also accepted for UUC sponsorship of community events: allowing the use of the space for the Meditation Circle to meet on Tuesdays at 6, Drum Circle, OHVEC meeting etc.
Held at Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 520, Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25302
