Today (23.11.09) Alabama 3 released their new download only single 'Jacqueline' - 'a down ‘n’ dirty paean to the sort of woman you definitely wouldn’t want to take home to your mother.' (Hot Press).
Those who heard it played live on the recent tour already know and love the song -  a sweet taster of the forthcoming 'Revolver Soul' album.
Download Jacqueline today!

Alabama 3 fans will be able to buy the brand new ‘fan only’ album - 'The 12 Step Plan' - throughout the November tour.
For those of you unable to make it along to any of the gigs, we have the cd ready for you to order in the site shop RIGHT NOW!
It seems our previous announcement regarding the track listing was indeed a little previous...  While we might have mislead you a little bit about some of the track names (and yes, some of the names have changed since you heard them in the download stage) we were absolutely right to tell you that you had a treat in store!

The Alabama 3 site shop has been reloaded in time for the November Tour.
We have 2 new t-shirts available in the Clothing department, and loads of exciting new stuff in the 'Other Stuff' section! Why not take a look?

People said it couldn’t be done.  A lot of people said it shouldn’t be done.  But Alabama 3 ain’t ever been the type of folk to follow the rules so we went ahead and did it anyway…

Freed up from the shackles and chains of a record company, we squatted up in our new Brixton studio with just the music, the world wide web and your ideas.

We promised you 36 new tracks to download and vote on; we promised you access to those tracks for remixing, the best of which would be included on a bonus cd; and we promised you a 12 hour party…

So here’s our progress to date, the original timetable may have been overly enthusiastic, we remembered that humans need to party and forgot the need for sleep - but we got you all 36 tracks, and you duly voted.

Pretty soon we’ll be telling you the names of those chosen tracks…

We also told you that the new album would be released this autumn.

However, things have kind of snowballed since then…

Over the course of those months when you were all voting on and arguing about the new tracks, more songs were being written, and some of the germs of ideas you heard in the 12 Step downloads were evolving alongside them and have morphed into a brand new album. An eclectic group of guests have been dropping  in and rolling out of the studios at Jamm to collaborate with us in the making of this new sound.  (We’ll show you the guest book and the warrant cards in due course.)

This was something that was too good to be hurried, this was the making of an album that is destined to put ‘sweet pretty muthafucking country acid house music’ firmly back on the map - ‘Revolver Soul’ – coming to you in spring 2010.

We’ll be bringing you a sweet little taster of the album on November 23rd, in the shape of a new single called ‘Jacqueline’ - as filthy, rich and memorable as anything Alabama 3 have ever done.

But that’s not all - we don’t do moderation around these parts!

During the November tour, and for a limited time afterwards from the website, we’ll be bringing you another new album!

Brothers and Sisters, let us present to you: ‘The 12 Step Plan’ - a fans only release, its track listing chosen by you! Inevitably, this will become a choice collectors’ item. We hear that e.Bay is bracing itself!

As for the other promises?

We’re still planning on giving you those tracks to remix.  We’ll tell you more about this soon.  We’ll be issuing the chosen remixes as a bonus cd alongside ‘Revolver Soul’.

The 12 hour party?  Hmm… well, we’ve all being doing more than our share of partying, but the invites must have got lost in the postal strikes! We’ll remember to invite you next time; keep your New Year’s Eve calendar free cause we’re planning quite a mash up for you all then.

All the latest news...

We are very pleased to take this opportunity to introduce you to Aurora Dawn. Aurora will be joining Alabama 3 on stage through out the November Tour, and her vocals feature on the forthcoming ‘Revolver Soul’ album.

Alabama 3 completists will already know her voice from ‘Minesweeping’, (which features on the ‘Hello I’m Johnny Cash’ cd single, as well as on the ‘Outlaw Remixes’ album) and many of you will have seen her perform live with Alabama 3 in the past.

A singer-songwriter, as well as vocalist for the band ‘Screaming Skulls’*, Aurora has worked around the globe, and performed alongside many different bands and genres; Basement Jaxx,  Roots Manuva, James Taylor Quartet ,Spiritual South, and Moby to name but a few – performing to audiences from 100 to 30,000…

‘Vocalist Aurora Dawn has presence oozing out of her pores with her energetic displays and rapport with the crowd, this tiny lion is a force to be reckon with; mixing up the rock, pop and adding just a little touch of ragga…’

Hello people,

Some of you may know, but some of you may wonder, following recent absences and good behaviour..."What's going on with Devlin?"

Well I am very happy and proud to officially announce that I am now 6 months pregnant. This means that I will not be performing on the 'Revolver Soul' tour. I will be very sad not to be taking to the stage this year and will sadly miss the opportunity to entertain and sing for you.

I must stress, that this does not mean in anyway that I am leaving the band. I am simply taking time out to minimise risks and concentrate on being the best mother that I could possibly be.

"The gigs? How will they be different?"

There will be absolutely no lack of kick-ass female presence... oh no... as A***** (a mystery singer, soon to be announced!) with her cat-like moves, and powerful vocals will be there to please you!

I will miss the band and all of you guys dearly, but I'll be back!

Enjoy the gigs!!

We'd all like to send our love and best wishes
to Devlin and the little Bump of Love.

STEP 12
– *********

At last we’ve reached the last step
of all, and your final chance to participate in the pre-production of
the next Alabama 3 album!

We’ve decided to go out in a splash
of glory and a volley of bullets as we present to you not 3 but ?

tracks to listen to and pass judgement
on.

Not only that, but as a special treat
for all those that were slow to join the programme we’ve put the original
11 steps back online for voting and downloading.

SPREAD THE LOVE

You can only vote on each step once, but you can help us promote this
unique initiative by spreading the love.  We’re asking for your
help – could you recruit 12 disciples and bring them over to the fold
in the next 12 days, so they too can participate in the 12 Step Programme?
You know they will thank you for it!  E.mail your friends and get
them involved.  Twit about it.  Facebook it.  My Space
it.  Talk to your friends.  Spread the love…

Read all about the 12 step programme
and manifesto
here.

When all the votes have been collated
the band will begin working on the chosen tracks and developing the
sound of the new album.  When completed these tracks will be made
available for ALL OF YOU to remix.  The best remixes will make
it onto a bonus CD.

DON’T MISS THE
FINAL CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY IN THE FUTURE OF MUSIC.
