DeRamos.blogspot.com.  Also visit, pretty please?  You get to see videos from bands from the Radio@MU podcast.  Thanks.

P.S. Paris Hilton is on the cover for the Halfing Pumpkins' single "Tarantula."  Zeitgeist, indeed.  (The Halfing Pumpkins is my abbreviation for Half of the Original Smashing Pumpkins.  No real offense, just sarcasm.)

I've posted another set of Pre-Society songs here, from the disturbingly sentimental Jeffrey Champ years.

You can read about them in this
blog.

Feel free to cringe along with me. :-)

Happy New Year...alright,

Hello, friends!

We recently opened a shop at CafePress.com (which you can do as well).  We currently have five designs on nine products, with palindrome prices!  There's more to come, eventually.  Here's a sampling of goods from the Society of Gloves:

Thanks...alright,

P.S. The music's still free and downloadable, by the way!

Current mood:  ecstatic

In the spirit of the holidays, ALL of our tracks are available for download!  I know, MySpace downloads are 96 kbps MP3 files, which isn't ideal, but you'll save that much more space on your computer and/or MP3 player (grrr...I know).

The last track available to download (for now) is "Transcend the Writing."  It has keyboards, in addition to the requisite vox/guitar/bass/drums.

Here's the song info, if you want to ID-tag the MP3 for iTunes and/or elsewhere:

Name:  Transcend the Writing
Artist:  Society of Gloves
Year:  2006
Album:  Society of Gloves
Track Number:  3 of 999
Composer:  Jonathan DeRamos; Ryan DeRamos
Genre:  Rock

All other fields can be left blank.

Download all four songs - "Shield," "Rhino," "Transcend," and "Fifty" - before we replace them with new ones!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings...alright,

Ryan - vox/guitar

Commence automated blog sequence in five, four, three...

The third track available for download is "Fifty Can't Be Wrong."  Aside from a few minor tweaks here and there, it's the same happy-go-lucky, passively aggressive, jammy song as before!

Here's the song info, if you want to ID-tag the MP3 for iTunes and/or elsewhere:

Name:  Fifty Can't Be Wrong
Artist:  Society of Gloves
Year:  2006
Album:  Society of Gloves
Track Number:  4 of 999
Composer:  Jonathan DeRamos; Ryan DeRamos
Genre:  Rock

All other fields can be left blank.

Download "Fifty," "Shield," and "Rhino" before we replace them with new songs!  We'll keep you updated when we re-release "Transcend"...soon!

Merry Christmas...alright,

Ryan - vox/guitar
The Society of Gloves

P.S. Happy Birthday, EV!

The second track available for download is "Shield."  We've increased the bass on this one, so little computer speakers won't do the remix justice!  :-)

Here's the song info, if you want to ID-tag the MP3 for iTunes and/or elsewhere:

Name:  Shield
Artist:  Society of Gloves
Year:  2006
Album:  Society of Gloves
Track Number:  1 of 999
Composer:  Ryan DeRamos; Jonathan DeRamos
Genre:  Rock

All other fields can be left blank.

Download "Shield" and "White Rhino" before we replace them with new songs!  We'll keep you updated when we re-release the other two songs as well!

Merry Christmas...alright,

In the spirit of the holidays, all of our tracks are (or will be) available for download!  I know, MySpace downloads are 96 kbps MP3 files, which isn't ideal, but you'll save that much more space on your computer and/or MP3 player (grrr...I know).

The first track available to download is "White Rhino."  It's loud, so turn it up!

Here's the song info, if you want to ID-tag the MP3 for iTunes and/or elsewhere:

Name:  White Rhino
Artist:  Society of Gloves
Year:  2006
Album:  Society of Gloves

So I have a few points I'd like to make about "Transcend":

1. It has this Fleetwood Mac-ish vibe just as the band kicks in, at least that's what I think.

2. The guitar solo is totally hair metal (in a "Monster Ballads" kind of way)/Slash (which is the cool part).  It just says "80s" all over it.

3. The drum fill at 4:08.  Listen to it.

4. Yes, that's an approximation of what a Hammond B3 organ sounds like.

TRANSCEND THE WRITING
Music by Jonathan DeRamos and Ryan DeRamos
Words by Ryan DeRamos
Engineered by Jonathan DeRamos
Mixed by Ryan DeRamos
Recorded and Produced by the Society of Gloves

To my life
Weary 'cause it seems
That I need a paid vacation
In my doubt, she arrives...alive.

For myself
I need to get away
Though I head the wrong direction
Take a vow.  Say "I do."  Adieu.

She would not believe a thing
Transcend the writing
Chasing the full moon over the horizon
Lend me a sound.

Twenty-two
Catch me if you can
Is it easy?  Be the bad man?
Know your place, erase your id.

Near the end
Crazy 'cause I mean
"Kcot-kcit" goes the timing
Take a bow.  Say "Adieu."  Run home.

Don't look back.

She would not believe a thing
Transcend the writing
Chasing the full moon over the horizon
Leave her alone.

Believe it.
Believe it.
Or leave it.
Just leave her alone.

Cheers...alright,
