Also, look out for Neal Evans' signature funk on HBO's new documentary, The Black List: Volume 1 airing August 25th. Evans scores the entire 90 minutes of the film recently chosen as a Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival Official Selection.
The Black List is "an answer to the persistent taint that western culture has applied to the word 'black'". Its interviewees include Slash, Toni Morrison, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chris Rock, Al Sharpton, and Sean Combs. Variety called it "an impeccably mounted survey of voices from across the spectrum of African-American accomplishment...a rich and revealing work of portraiture."
