How do you organize for the new year? What do you throw away? I have found in the beginning of the new year there is so much to get rid of. This means going through all your old papers, clothes, etc. and seeing what is worthy of keeping or throwing away. Maybe a quick trip to the county dump or Salvation Army might do the trick.
So many resolutions to make and try to keep is always a stressful way to start off the new year. I always make a list of course to outrageous that there is no way I can keep them all. Like losing weight, working out, writing everyday. Like everyone else we all have high hopes. I guess it is a ritual thing we all do to make ourselves feel better.
If we can organize our work places and homes maybe then we can keep our resolutions. Organization is a must for me. I have to keep my desk cleaned and my files put away after a work session. I have never been one to be a keeper of old clothes or papers, etc. Sometimes I feel like I throw away to much. I find times where I need some note that I got rid of the next time I sit down to my desk. So... I guess we can be keepers or people who get rid of all the clutter that seems to stack up so quickly. Where is that medium spot? I guess like every year in the past I will try to take a week or so organizing my simple life. Just to find out actually it was the best for me. New year, new clothes, new resolutions.
Until Next Time Friends,
Betty

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. It was so awesome getting to be with my family. Seeing their sweet faces, the looks of anticipation. The joy of getting something unexpected, but, still exactly what they have ask for.
Today the day after is for cleaning up the house, and getting things back to some kind of order. What a job. And, then there is the time you need for yourself. Reflection. What is to come next. Getting geared up for the new year.
I have so much reading I want to do, I got several new books under my Christmas tree!!!
There will be new information coming in the next few days about the new "WRITING EXTRAVAGANZA" coming in January. Website, and all the fun stuff you will need to get your writing goals or personal goals met.
Until Next Time Friends,
Betty

The Holiday's are here. All my shopping is done, and the present's are wrapped. Even though Ace, my 3 year old grandson keeps unwrapping them!
I guess like everyone else I have hopes and dreams for my new year. Life is always unexpected and unpredictable. Maybe that is what it is meant to be. I have loving children and grand kids I love so much. Why should I want more? I guess being a hopeless romantic never changes. I believe love does conquer all.
Until next time friends,
Betty

I relaxed a lot today. Read some in a book I wanted to read for awhile." Left to Die." I wrote an hour today. Watched some Lifetime movies, and laundry. My kind of Sunday. Hope to get in some more writing and reading tonight.
My brother is still here from North Dakota. He will be leaving Friday. I will miss him. We have had awhile to visit this month.
I can't believe it is less than two weeks until Christmas. I will be glad, I am finally getting in the spirit of the holiday. I have a lot of shopping to do this week.
This week at work will be busy. It seems like before a major holiday we are very busy, which I like it that way. A few days off will be nice around Christmas. I hope to get some major writing done.
Until Next Time Friends,
Betty

I have been thinking about a new project a lot like National Novel Writing Month for the new year. I have some ideas floating around with some friends as I am writing this. It is a concept where writing quantity versus quality for a period of time is the key. A certain number of words per day, etc. More info will be along as we get it.
I think every one of us has at least one story to tell in our lives, whether it be fiction or a true tale of something you are compassionate about. Looking out the window and focusing on the unknown. That alone will have your mind wondering all over the place. Your world real or a completely made up galaxy, where people are strange looking and speak in different languages. If you can dream it, it can become real to you if not to the world. (That will come later.)
I will be writing in the next three weeks off and on about this concept and idea. Everyone who has some adventure and wants to join in a fun time of meeting new goals, not to mention new friends, are welcome.
Until next time friends,
Betty
Affirmation: Look at today and tomorrow as an adventure and you will have a spontaneous productive life.

Today was very relaxing. I watched the Tennessee Titans win again! They are going to be in the Super Bowl I hope. My brothers are here and we are having supper together tonight. I worked on my new project today. I have been having this dream about my story. Things are happening to my character's in my dreams. I am trying to recollect some of the happenings because they are clamoring to come out and be in the story.
My dreams are vivid and colorful. Sometimes I will dream the same dream a couple nights a week. The clock goes off at 5:00 am and I don't want the dream to end. I have the five more minutes down pat!! One of my main character's the love interest of my protagonist I am so in love with. He is a little arrogant and hard headed in a sexy kind of way. (No wonder I don't want my dreams to end.) The story is coming along, and I am pleased with my energy toward this project.
Until Next Time Friends,
Betty

I was writing down some goals to achieve by the end of the month today. Some as easy as to finish the good book I am reading. (Ricochet, By Sandra Brown.) Anything by Brown is excellent. I also have on that list to lose 5 more pounds, well then my daughter in law makes this awesome caramel pie. Which, I have yet to taste.
Maryville High School is playing for their 5th State Championship as I am writing this post. Their coach is one of the best motivators I have ever met. He teaches in such a positive manner the boys all look up to him. And, the ones that have been coached by George Quarles have become to go on to play in college or just become good respectful young men. Well...I just heard the ending score they lost their first game in 75 games. Oh well, I guess they can start a new streak.
Speaking again about hopes for the future, I wish to work hard and accomplish the goals I have set for myself and reward myself for achieving them.
Until Next time friends,
Betty Affirmation: Plan, and write out your path to acheive what you intend to spend your time on. A little effort will help in making all your dreams be fullfilled. Write down your goals and they will seem more viable.

What a month November was. My nephew had a massive heart attack at the age of 30. He was one kid who lived everyday to the fullest. He worked out daily, ran, and was an avid sportsman.
He was the kindest person, would have done anything for anybody. His death was such a shock and disappointment to our family. He has a new baby on the way to live out his legacy. I guess it does go to show working out to excess and eating all the right foods does not always make for a healthy long life.
My favorite holiday, Thanksgiving was giving thanks that we had the chance to know and love such a wonderful young man. My nephew's name was Jason. A name soon to be on a tombstone, with the epitaph Son, Husband, and Father. Good-Bye dear boy you will be dearly missed.
Affirmation: Live everyday to the fullest. Love as much and as powerful as you can, and you to will have a full and happy life.

Coming up this week is my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. There are so many reasons really. But, the number one is getting to be with all my family and close friends. People you may not see until the next year rolls around. Some will get married, or unfortunately some will die. But, whatever the reason we will be giving thanks for them.
Thanksgiving is the holiday where there is nothing but joy. No stress except not eating to much turkey. For one day, you can be looking ahead to the new year. This is the real beginning. Where I start to write down what I want to achieve for the coming new year. My goals are always changing, but, one is steadfast and constant, finding myself, and maybe when that happens, I can find the one person who will love me, like I want and deserve to be loved. I will give thanks for the year that has just past, even though it was a challenging and ever changing one. It was. I guess that alone is thanks enough.
Feeling a little apprehensive today. But, very proud to have the chance to enjoy today. I hope everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembers the past ones. Last year, I had a most loving and very rememberable Thanksgiving. Spent with all the people I loved and who welcomed me with open arms.
Until next time friends,
Betty
Affirmation: Be yourself, and enjoy your life. Things will always change, but, have the heart to go along. Things do happen for a reason, even some we wonder why.

I have found that surrounding yourself with positive, upbeat people in this time of our lives is very important. Of course, there will be those who will try to bring you down to the dreads of the media. Yes, we are in a crisis in our economy, but, things are getting better. Gas prices are coming way down, so that alone is changing our thought process already.
Look around at your home, and family and see how lucky you are. Beautiful grandchildren, successful kids, and what great parents they have become.
Stay on your course, be positive, and thankful for your life.
Until Next Time Friends,
Betty
Affirmation: Keep your goals in mind, and do whatever it takes to acheive them.Work toward your " To Do List" everyday. It will feel so rewarding when you can look at the goals you have acheived and you will feel accomplished. My favorite story was this Ninety-one year old man wrote a book and got it PUBLISHED! So...there you go.
