Current mood: disappointed
I just read a blog about e-harmony opening up the site for gays and lesbians because of a lawsuit. I also read how some straight women are reacting to the news. Puhleeze...some of the het women are so "annoyed" that lesbians show interest in them despite their profile saying that they're straight that they feel we gays and lesbians should stick to their OWN DATING SITES and not "invade" theirs. (rolls eyes). I guess what pisses me off the most is the general tone that they feel they're just "above us" and just too good to be bothered. I hate this kind of shit. I'm sick of being discriminated against by sanctimonious idiots who feel they can freely judge us queer folk. Ugh!! I could go on a rant for days over this crap! As far as I'm concerned E-Harmony and all their loser clients can shove their stupid website up their asses. Have I told you how I really feel? Ha!

Wow, I looked at what meager posts I've done on this blog and see nothing but me whining about writing. To write or not to write...blah, blah, blah. Well, I finally did get my ass in gear and wrote a story that made it into Best Lesbian Erotica 2009! The book will come out in November 2008.After my episode of going through a dry writing spell, I got the kick in the butt to finish the story when I sent an unfinished draft to Tristan Taormino, editor of BLE. She said she was interested in seeing the whole thing. At first I was really excited then I was like "oh shit," what do I do now????? I have to say it was the best thing that could have happened to me because it was what I needed to get me writing again.
I really, really, really wanted this story to make it to print and for so many reasons. First of all, I wanted to write a story about librarians, who for the most part, have the most boring and unflattering stereotype around. I wanted to break that stereotype because well, librarians are not boring. Ok, ok, maybe a few of them might be but not ALL! I think this story will be an eye opener for those of you who still think your neighborhood bibliophile is a quiet mouse, content to surround herself with books, and go home to her cats. The story is about the erotic adventures of two librarians as they attend a library conference. One is a mistress, the other a submissive. Yes, librarians are capable of being quite naughty. You see, it's always the quiet ones who will surprise you. Here is a sneak preview of the table of contents and the other authors who have stories in the book:The Virgin of G Jean Casse The Diner on the Corner Zaedryn Meade Operation Butch Ambush Tawanna Sullivan Bait and Switch Nairne Holtz Park Sex Jessica Swafford Spike Jodi Payne Punk Love Victoria Gimpelevich Lipstick on Her Collar Sacchi Green Dream Date Radclyffe On Snow-White Wings Shanna Germain Tough Enough to Wear a Dress Teresa Noelle Roberts A Night at the Opera Evan Mora Please (Act III) Linda Suzuki Hard to Get Rachel Kramer Bussel Waiting Dylynn DeSaint The Placement of Modifiers Jean Roberta Velvet by Lisabet Sarai Stuck at Work and Late for a Date Chelsea G. Current mood: anxious
I've got some writing deadlines coming up soon and gotta crank some stories out! The only problem is I'm not in the mood :( Right now I'm listening to music by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the song is titled "Took Out A Loan." I'm hoping that'll inspire me to get in the mood. Sometimes music with an edge to helps me get out fo the writing doldrums. Let's hope it works!!
